If you are truly dedicated to quitting cigarettes and can reasonably afford a Provari, go for it. To borrow a phrase made popular by Lee Iacocca, "If you can find a better personal vaporizer...buy it."
I have been vaping for 10 months and smoke free since the second week of vaping. I started with the cigalikes, moved on to fixed voltage mods with the replaceable rechargeable batteries. I currently have what I believe is my ideal setup: a Provari with pyrex cartotanks. I don't really regret the stuff I have used in my vaping progression, because I learned a lot along the way. But I would have saved hundreds of dollars going straight to a Provari.
I have a friend who lives in my hometown who desparately needed to quit smoking. In her 40's, over 2 pack per day smoker, previous open heart surgery, COPD and asthma. It was obvious that she was going to die an early death if she didn't quit soon.
I displayed my setups to her last Thanksgiving while I was visiting family. Explained what stuff is available to a new vapor as we looked over possibilities online. When we were finished, I asked what did she think. She wanted to go with a Provari, like mine.
Over Christmas holiday she already had her own Provari. I spent a good 2 hours showing her about my cartotanks and even gave her a vivi nova that I wasn't using to get her started with tanks. Already she had cut down from the 2 packs per day to under a half pack with the Provari and dripping on an atty.
I heard a wise person say, "It's not just the cigarettes that you smoke that count, but the ones that you don't."
Have you decided on what juice delivery devices that you will try? I made a picture dictionary of the more common ones here:
