DO IT, I wish I had... After 30 years on analogs I picked up my first e-cig July 4 2012 and have never looked back. I have spent THOU$ANDS playing and searching for the ultimate vape. My search ended with the Provari topped with a Fatty Atty for daily use and a Z-attyPro for in the car. (Don't drip and drive!:) I'm am such a fanboy of the Provari, I have actually purchased 6 of 'em and given them to friends and family who are now ALL former smokers.
And what the heck, if you buy one and after 30 days you find it's not for you, PM me and I'll buy it from you for what you paid. (must have blue LED:).

When you pay for quality, you only cry once.

I think finding a juice you love is a way bigger problem than batteries. Most all of the bigger batts will give a good vape but you will spend more on juice in the long run.

Juice is super important. Without a juice you love, great equipment will just collect dust.

I own the V2 black mini, and rock it with the extension cap. It lasts me all day at work, and I vape pretty constantly. It is my go to PV for testing flavors and checking RBAs. I also use it to check which batteries are full when I forget which I've charged. I really enjoy owning one.

That being said, I also use a whole slew of mods and PVs in a week. I have other PVs for when I'm out and about. I have mods and pipes for some flashy vaping. And still other PVs for TV watching or for use in bed.

And of course, none of this really matters if you don't have a good atty. my all day flavor on cartos was terrible in a tank. And the flavors I liked in tanks was different when I picked up RBAs.

So I guess my advice is to get the provari, but also be on the lookout for well reviewed attys ( the classies most always have awesome RBAs). It is a great investment in vaping, and a tried and true device. With a little bit of reading and watching on batts and attys that work on VV PVs, it can be one of the best vapes out there. IMHO of course

any pro vari is a good choice. i'm the same as u, didn't waste time w/the beginner gear. i got the black satin mini w/18490 extension. be sure to buy at least a couple batteries, as they don't last too long. also, a Pila charger is recommended, it charges consistently and much faster than the cheaper china made ones.

i agree that finding a good juice maker is key. so far i've liked copper creeks stuff the best. she does her own extractions so her stuff always tastes real, not artificial. house blend is delish, but it tends to clog most coils pretty quickly. all the fruits are amazing. also boba's bounty by alien visions is very popular, for good reason.

and try and get you hands on a gg tank, if possible. they are the bentleys of tanks. i went thru a lot of vivi novas (clear-o's), didn't like cartos (the cotton inside dulls the taste of the juice), and finally picked up a gg penelope on the classifieds. there's a small learning curve cuz you have to learn to wrap your own coils, but it's Totally worth it in the end. try and find an Odysseus or Penelope or even an iAtty. he's making the Ithaka now, but i think pre-orders are closed. Gensis style tanks are also great for vapor production, but sorta tricky to set up..

and i wish i would have bought my pro vari skin (vaporskinz) right of the bat. they look cool, and they protect from scratches and dings that are bound to happen..

good luck.

I spent 20-30 hrs of reading the forum and decided to start with a Provari as well. For me it was worth the cost to have a dependable well reputed PV at the onset. There is plenty of time to experiment later on.

I started vaping 11 days ago and havent had a cig since.

A good PV might be expensive but then smoking american spirits wasn't cheap either.

My tip would be to start with an atomzier. Keep it simple.

Will check that out. Thanks for the tip. I havent been too excited about carto's either.

No actually a Mercedes e55 amg. I see so many first timers buying provari what is wrong with that?

Kinda answered your own question. Now you might look to see what those with 2-3-5 years of experience are buying and using.
The Provari is a great device, and many of us have one. There are also other good VV or VW devices to choose from. But, after you learn all the great ways to vape with VV, learn how to replicate all those different ways without VV. In the end you will find that the actual top of the line PV's are things like the Precise, Reo, Zen, GG, and so on, all 3.7v devices that you manipulate to deliver what you want.

Purely opinion based. In the end, the best PV is the one that keeps you off of cigarettes. Nuff said.

If you can find a better APV than a Provari....then buy it.

Hello Been a smoker since 16 years old, I am now 32. I want to quit smoking analogs and start vaping. I want my first purchase to become my last purchase so I am planing ahead to try and score my self a provari. Any recommendations would be welcomed. Thank you.
    Smart man.

Provari is entirely your choice, but you are on the correct path getting into good quality gear right off the bat, not allowing yourself to be turned off by Mickey-Mouse vaping kits.

You get what you pay for, and top PVs more than anything else let you experience what lies a little beyond the horizon.

    Great decision. :toast:

I am new here too. Thinking fo getting the provari--with the adjiustable voltage. Does anyone know if you can use prefilled cartridges that fit on a regular 510--the ones that look like analogs or the Vapor 4 life dial a volt? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

You can use prefilled carto's on it just fine, if you go Vapor4life you will need to get an 808 to 510 adapter to make the carto's work. These are cheap and don't work really well, order at least two of them! The Provari is setup with a 510 connection, which is the most common, not the best, but easiest to find things for.

I can't talk you out of buying a Provari as a newbie, they hold their value well so if it doesn't work out, you can get most of your money back. There are a few deals in the classifieds, but most are about the same as new on prices and the deals are gone in seconds to minuets!
I have the mini and always planned on getting one of the hard to find 18650 battery adapters for it, after owning and using it, I MIGHT get the 18500 cap from Provape, I might not. I REALLY like the size of it as is and get around 6hrs of battery life from it. I'm not at all unhappy about that.
Buy a lot of sample packs of juice from varies vendors, get a HH357, I06 or a bridgless 510 dripping atty to taste them with then a carto tank to run the juice you settle on in. I personally think the carto tank is about as good as it gets right now for simple, large capacity juice delivery. I've tried the Vivi Nova's, not for me, muted flavors, burnt flavors and just fidgity to get right, not for me.
You can get a ZAP or other rebuildable in the future, but I really would wait to get into the RBA's, I have two, another on the way. I LIKE them, but haven't been able to get them to the point I am happy and would trust one on a night on the town yet. I just haven't mastered them, and it's an art form. Find something that works and allows you to get your fix and suits your life style, then think about playing with RBA's. Vaping is hard enough, finding the right juice, finding something that works for you and going through all the choices to find these things. You don't need to be trying to get an RBA to work and just say screw it and have a cig instead because it's easier!
Keep it simple and easy to start with, it's confusing enough with all the choices, no need to make it hard!

Ok here are some things on my list before I go ahead with the purchase. I know I'll also need long lasting batteries a extended end cap, and charger.

    get a drip tip

good cartos by boge pre drilled?

for tanks look at J-Tank, Alu Liquinator and a Phiniac 3ml tank

    some juices
    555
    cuban
and some ry4 have a decent smokey flavor
some people like USA blend from dekang.

You guys could add more to the list if needed to get me started with a provari.
