Hey folks, i'm looking to buy an e-cigarette mostly to save a bit of money and make me smoke less.

I'm looking to buy one with a decent reputation, but not looking to spend a huge amount.

Ideally, i'd want some sort of starter pack, however i only really smoke 1 or 2 a day at the moment, so i don't need loads of extra batteries etc etc, just looking to get started.

I want one that looks and feels like a cigarette,

any suggestions?

ALSO, what sort of nicotine strength cartridges should i be looking at to replicate the amount you get from a standard marlboro light/camel light ...? i mean drag for drag, if that makes sense? so if i'm smoking with someone, i'd get the same amount of nicotine as they do in the same amount of time..

any help would be very much appreciated!

cheeeers :)

If you are looking for a product that looks like a cigarette, check out the volt from smokeless image. They are the most recommended mini on the forum. Their customer service is second to none. The batteries last 2-4 hours, the cartomizers last a long time and can be refilled several times an don't burn easily. They are priced reasonably too. The coupon code YOURVOLT00 will get you an additional 15% off? The halo g6 and bloog are the same battery, but SI is a little cheaper and has top notch customer service. .

Check out this video. It demonstrates the volt, but talks about what to buy, even if you choose a different company. It also shows the volt x2, which is a larger battery and the same thing as the kgo. This way you get the idea of what's out there.

I believe they are working on their website today so some of the starter kits arnt showing up. They announced they are introducing a few new products and possibly adding some additional starter kits. It will probably be back up tonight or tomorrow. You can look around in it, but not everything is listed (at least as of me writing this post).

thanks a lot, that's great advice, but i should also add that i live in England, so a lot of one's you are recommending are harder to get over here, and i'd rather buy from a UK seller...

Welcome aboard Fefelarue. :)

Since you don't need much, I would suggest something like the SD Keyring - SD Keyring

thanks for the welcome :)

i love the price of that sd keyring but ideally i want something that looks like a real ..., or is at least the same shape as one. (having it in a different colour wouldnt bother me, but i want it to feel like smoking a ..., and that keyring one just looks a bit too different.

thanks though, any other ideas?

You've got your first 5 posts in now. So, try asking over on The ECF UK Forum.

I looked at volt and didn't see any starter packs. Now I know why.

Hello & welcome Fefelarue :)

I'm also in the UK :)

I'd normally not recommend a cigie lookalike, but due o the fact you are such a light smoker, I can't see you having any problem with them :)

So have a look at this one - use discount code ECF10 for 10% off -

Rechargeable E-Cig (510) £8.99 - Basic Vaping Kits - Rechargeable E-Cig Electronic Cigarettes | Vaping Devices | Accessories | E-Liquid

Also check out some of the other good UK e-cigarette, e-liquid suppliers here -

I would also recommend a 510. One thing I would say you should look out for, is to make sure it is easy to refill. At first you will probably buy packs of prefilled cartridges, but later you may want to save money and buy e liquid to refill the cartrides and save some money. So its something to think about when you choose your e cig.

The 510 that is recommended above looks good and is a really good price, I would say that type of e cig is about the easiest to refill as well.

thanks for your help everyone!

i've had a look on liberty flights, and all that's done is confuse me, as i still have no idea what a 510 or 901 is. i had no idea it was this complicated, with this many options to choose from.

i've decided i don't really need it to look like a real ..., i just want it to be the same shape: a continual cylinder without any fatter bits or flat mouthpieces etc.

i want one that has a light in the end

and i also want one that doesn't need a button to be pressed to use it. but on liberty flights, on the battery section, all of them have a button by the looks of it :S but i used my mates one which he bought for a tenner and that was automatic without a button, why are more expensive ones not automatic?

i don't know if i want an atomizer or cartomizer, and after researching it, i still don't know. they are different, but neither seems to have any advantages over the other.

chrissie, thanks but that one looks pretty poor quality, and i had a cheapo one in the past which broke instantly so i never even used it! i'm looking to spend maybe £20-40 on one that will last a while.

ideally black or chrome or a funky colour, but still ... shaped and sized

HELP! I AM STILL NONE THE WISER!

Honestly, the one I linked to isn't poor quality & as a very light smoker it would suit you OK. It has a 510 thread so would be compatible with most standard cartomisers.

However, if you wanted to spend more have a look at this kit -

510 or 808 or 901 is the connector/ threading type on the PV. Once you buy a threading type you have to purchase corresponding accessories that fit UNLESS you purchase an adapter. I'd stay away from atomizers/ cartridge systems as they are prone to leaking. Stick with cartomizers in the beginning and you'll be doing yourself a favor. Also re: carts/ attys leaking juice on automatic/ non button batts can kill them. The Volt from Smokeless Image is the best cig sized PV available and their customer service is legendary- they are also ECF listed/ endorsed. Also after you purchase you Volt post your pic in their ECF page and receive a free batt or juice. This way you can purchase and inexpensive 1 batt starter kit but eventually have 2 batts.
Cheers.

chrissie, thanks again, but the more i think about it, the more i fancy something chrome or brushed steel/a bit more fancy haha

okay it's all becoming a bit clearer now :) so a good place to start would be to get: a 510 battery, some refillable cartomizers/disposable cartomizers and some juice?

but also, if i have a 510 battery, and decide i want to switch from/to atomizers/cartomizers, then i can just swap, as both will be interchangable with the battery, am i right?

does anyone know where i can get one of these smokeless image Volts in the UK?

as i don't fancy getting one shipped over here from the US..

thanks!

Unfortunately you can't purchase the Volt in the UK. Yes if you have a 510 battery/ PV then you can add on cartos, attys, tanks, etc. Realize though with the smaller battery PVs you will be limited to a certain type/ size of carto because the smaller batts can't handle them. Chrissie has a link for a Riva which is identical to my Kgo- an awesome PV with long batt life and lottsa power.
