Hi guys, I'm sure this has been asked alot in here but since there is so much me stuff out now I wanted to ask this question again.For about 6 months I have been using a SmokTech SID and it's been a great device but now I want to upgrade and get a mech mod so I can do some cloud chasing. What would be a good mech mod for me? I want to get one in the price range of $30 to $60 dollars. I have looked on fasttechs website and man they have a ton to choose from.

I want to get one that has a 510 connection and an eGo connection.
One that uses the 18650 battery, looks pretty cool and has the firing button on the side (not on the bottom).

By the way do they make a mech mod that will do sub ohms and has the digital screen on it so you can adjust the volts, check ohms, etc?

Thanks guys for your help and suggestions.

Yes I been looking for that too;

One of the Chi You mods on fasttech comes with eGo/510 and looks like it has room for a 650 plus a kick optionally.
$19.94 Chi You Style Mechanical Mod - stainless steel / 510/eGo threading at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

You can get an Infinite Stingray for about the price of a Magneto. The HCigar ones seem to have a pretty good following too. If your serious about a mechanical, and have done the proper research, meaning that your prepared, educated, responsible and comfortable enough to wield a mechanical, I would suggest getting one with a brass or copper body. Better conductivity means less voltage drop. Meaning more power to the atomizer, therefore meaning that you can go slightly higher ohms for a similar vape to a lower ohm coil, built on something like a magneto, or my beloved Reo, which for me, seems to have become my end all device. For me.

There are inline voltmeters that you can screw onto the front of a mech then put the topper on so you can see battery voltage.
But so far I haven't seen one that displays ohms also;
But I figure in about a year there will be like control heads to do that on a mech.

I've only ever seen one 69 clone. The owner looked at me like I had 2 heads when I asked if he could configure for bottom instead of top so I've assumed that the clone couldn't be reconfigured. But then again, the person with that mod isn't the sharpest tack in the box. Now I know better.

The clone (at least the Hcigar clone) can absolute do a 69.

Bottom instead of top ... what? Firing?
Exchange the top with the bottom so the side firing botton appears at the bottom instead of the top? Got to be that, - explains the name.... finally.

I will probably get one from www.vaporbeast.com I just need too pick one out that I can afford, if not there then I will look again on fasttech.com
May I suggest 101 vape instead? They only want $32 for a HCigar Nemesis vs. the $45 vaporbeast asks and has the Tobeco version (which is still a very good clone) for less.
http://101vape.com/30-mechanical-mods?orderby=price&orderway=asc
Edit: As mentioned below, if you want to use any of the hybrid atomizers, like the 3D or dome, or just the semi hybrid adapter, don't get the less expensive Tobeco clone as its threads don't match those of a real Nemesis. I was just using it as an example of the lower prices at 101, wasn't thinking about hybrids, my bad.

That's it.

You pull off the top cap, button section, and the bottom cap, turn the tube upside down, screw the button section on the bottom with the bottom cap on the bottom of that, throw in your battery, and put the top cap back on

Voila! A bottom button side firing true mech.

It's pretty cool, but I found that I prefer it at the top, so it always stays there.

Actually it looks more like the brass plated one instead of the copper plated one:
http://www.fasttech.com/products/1411/10005381/1617900

Price difference, well that's why you pay a domestic vendor more, so you can get your mod in 2 or 3 days instead of 2 or 3 weeks from China assuming it's in stock. And why a number of people choose to wait to make their money go further.

The Magneto is a good solid if somewhat boring choice. Neither so old in design its an antique in vaping terms nor so new and spiffy it's got weird quirks of its own. Magnetic switch and as you say with the addition of a $10 replacement top cap will support eGo in addition to the standard 510 connector. Stainless steel so it'll take some abuse.

I would start with an RDA or RBA first to practice coil builds and making them work for what you've got utilizing wire gage and coil styles. It's half art form and half science/math. If you're not good with the science/math part at least you have protection with your regulated mod. Once you're ready you can step up to a mech. Do some research and watch some reviews too. It will help. Go to your local B&M and ask them to give you a lesson on mechanicals and coil builds. Most likely they will be happy to get you interested in new equipment (if they're good business minded people) so long as you spend money in their shop. Some good hands on time was the best way for me to decided when I was ready.

IMO if you're looking for your FIRST mod get something simple that doesn't require any tinkering to get it right. It has been said before in this thread, get a nemesis clone or a private v2 clone. Very simple operation and the clones have been back engineered and re-engineered over and over again (that's why you see so many of them)... AND they're relatively inexpensive. Spend the money on some good batteries. The batteries will be the difference from an epic vape or catastrophic accident.

Be patient and learn the art and science of mechanicals the right way. Save money with a simple clone. Spend the money on good batteries.

Good luck.
