I bought a vivi nova. I love how it doesn't leak and its mess free when filling. The major problem I am having with it is flavor. It is extremely muted and slightly burnt aftertaste. I have been dripping this ejuice and love it. It tastes just ok in the nova. I was hoping someone had a trick to get it to taste like dripping and the carto tanks. I am using the 2.8 ohm head at 4.7 volts. Any pointers? Or should I just go back to the carto tanks?

welcome to the nova.. they work great until you try something that is actually better and cant go back, its just the way it is . i personally dont like them
some people have rebuilt the heads using different wicking materials and it seems to help a bit, i pretty much started on them and when i got my first rebuildable i thought the nova broke somehow as it had zero flavor all of a sudden.

    No you can't
Your vaping at almost 8 watts, burnt taste sign of dry wicking burnt wick to much heat. start with low voltage work your way up. try not to chain vape till you get your sweet spot. Important wet the wick prior to useing wait a few min till it soaks in. Also depends on wick type cotton takes a long time to get wet even if it looks wet it has to soke up the juices takes time. Some juice taste better at lower voltage (fruit flavor)

Which Vivi Nova are you using? The Vivi Nova 1.0 got all kinds of bad reviews. The 2.5 got some pretty good ones. The Mini Vivi Nova I haven't heard anything about. The V10 tank I just got today and I'm not totally happy with it but it is working better since I put the higher ohm head on it.

Also sounds like you may have your voltage to high. I could be wrong though as I don't have much experience with VV just got my spinner today too.

Same here. I desperately wanted to love the ViVi Nova. I even did a Youtube review. Within 48 hours two heads were blown. And it tasted awful. I tried to sell it to my vaping coworkers for $10 with new heads included (another waste of $), but they all gave it back and said it sucked. So I ended up just giving it away to my cousin. I really, really wish I had spent that money on a carto tank. I mean, I have five already, but more could never hurt. It really is a waste of money (the ViVi Nova). I'll sit back and wait patiently as all the people who raved about it slowly come to their senses and kick any kind of clearo to the curb.

I love my mini-nova. I've only been vaping around 2 months now - so definitely not a vet. I have been using vivi novas pretty heavily for the last month or so and also still dripping when at my pc. What I've noticed is that the vapor from my mini nova is cooler than when I drip. I don't really know why this is since, looking at the 2 devices, my mouth is about the same distance from the heat source and both my atty and my vivi nova are of similar resistance (plus I use VV and have adjusted it plenty).

So I imagine just like adding ice cubes to whisky diminishes the taste, cooler vapor would seem to have less flavor than warmer vapor. I don't know - just a guess. Not that it helps much, either, lol.

I do get some burnt/dry hits sometimes if I chain vape. When that happens i need to slow down to give the wicks time to absorb juice . .and of course tilt and shake the device.

I have a Vision Vivi Nova on the way, my first tank system... I am a chain vaper and read somewhere that wicking can be a problem; the fix is to lay a strand of cotton wick across the top of the ones in the head, it helps get liquid where it needs to go faster. Has anyone tried this? Is it a dumb thing to consider?

My experience with the VN.....the stock heads are atrocious. I solved all of my complaints (tight draw, dry hits, burnt taste...) about the stock heads with a bit of modding and rebuilding.

Now it is my primary device. On a fresh battery it is running over 11w with no burning. I found it next to impossible to go over ~7w with the stock heads before things started getting bad.

I also hate my vivi nova. Just never seemed to hit good and the taste thing was a major downer. Gave up on it after three days and went back to cartos and am happy as can be. Will try a carto tank soon. Probably will toss my nova in the trash where it belongs rather than give it to anyone... Wish i'd saved my money.

I have 2 big ones and 2 little ones. Love them both. I was having an issues at anything I've 3.8 volts. Always burrnt. Reading other threads about the nova had suggested removing the shroud around the coil. Ripped them out of all my heads and now I can crank the volts without burning. Just make sure the coil doesn't touch the heads. Just ordered some kanthal and going to start playing with different wick material. I have some hemp and will find some cheese cloth. I have never tried a carto tank. Hope to get one next month.

Plenty of "vaping vets" swear by the Vivi Nova. People are different, they have different tastes and different likes and dislikes. Just because one person doesn't like a delivery device doesn't means it's bad. Same thing with juice. If everyone liked the same thing we wouldn't have so many different devices and juice vendors.

For me it's totally juice dependent. Some juices translate really well in the Nova. Some taste nasty in the Nova and are fine in a carto-tank.

I still believe that the wicking system in the Nova may not be getting 100% of the flavor to the coil. It's not uncommon for my juice to change color in a Vivi Nova tank after using it for a while.

I think people should stop associating "ease of use" with the ViVi Nova, and instead replace it with "Rebuildable". Everything about this screams rebuilding. Which, to me, seems utterly ridiculous, but oh well. It is not easy to use, and if it needs rewicking and recoiling before it can be enjoyed, it belongs in the Rebuildable category.
