I agree with the physical act of smoking being a hard habit to break. I drive a lot for work; two hours on the road at a time and what would I rather have in my hand (besides a cigarette): an e-cig, or my cellphone...have you ever just held a cigarette in your hand, just for having it there? Fragile little suckers, aren't they? In many ways your device will be a lot more durable. You can pick it up, clutch desperately at it, and put it back down again without snapping it in half.

Creating healthy new habits is far more effective than trying to break old ones. The strengths based approach to recovery is evidence based vs the common quitting strategy that is so ubiquitous in our cultur really isn't. Deciding on a small goal that is something you really want to do and achieving it, as racehorse so eloquently stated, is the way to go. Restricting what you consider an unhealthy habit only makes that habit more attractive. That, and self-loathing, is where the binging comes in. In creating new, healthy, habits, the unhealthy tend to take care of themselves.
There is a great program I am a facilitator for, WHAM (whole health action management) by SAMHSA, that is based on this. You can download a workbook if you're interested in it. Google "Samhsa WHAM" or pm me if you want to know more.

OK, now I'm on 3 mg/ml NIC and using a very light Menthol-Ice (VapingZine SC) flavor.

Been vaping 3NIC for about a 2 weeks now, no probs!

You guys are right! Going slow is the key. I plan to transition to 0nic over the next year while vaping unflavored juice.I'll probably vape my strong flavored tobaccos (which I love) after dinner or when watching movies just for fun until I no longer need them.

You guys are awesome!
