iAtty Bottom Plastic tight MAX !

It's very strange Imeo, because from the beginning they were a little tight (compared to this new one) but then swelled up I guess. I've never heard of a plastic doing it, maybe it was some strange manufacturing anomaly when the delrin was made. Maybe this one will swell too, who knows, time will tell

Maybe I have to make threads not so tight between plastic and base Rick. So even if plastic gets a little fatter it will not affect the way it screws on base.

I had Gryphon help me put mine together for the first time at VaperCon and right off the bat my bottom piece was very difficult to put on. Never had been used, was still brand new. Everything else was a perfect fit.

You can have all the "fat bottoms" you want! I prefer mine perfectly toned Don't want anything that looks like it has been hit by a hailstorm

I found the reason why the lower plastic gets stiff against the base. It happens to a Greek friend and I asked him to see his Iatty. the first lower threads were worned. The symptoms were the same as you describe here.

Imeo, so what can I do to make it better, advice? Many of my friends here face the same problem, our iatty have been sleeping for very long. Hahahahaha

I had the same problem with mine. If you take a close look at the threads on the plastic, the threads are a little messed up. the threads on the base are very fine, and it doesn't take much to damage them. I was able to manipulate the plastic with a pick tool and made it a little easier. In the end I replaced the plastic base piece. The new one works great, and using a little more caution when putting them together, I haven't had any problems.

That makes sense, My last plastic, has worked since it's been in. I think some of us had a burr from machining the threads inside the base, and this initially damaged the threads. Mine base was sharp on the inside, after I ran the sandpaper in it, it removed the burr. Iatty base felt smooth inside afterwards. My friend it using it now, and has had zero problems with it, and it works as good as the day I put it in.

My suggestion, since I think Imeo is right on the money on this, is if this has happened to you, and it's done it repeatedly do the sandpaper trick I described in my previous post to make sure the burr gets removed Then feel in there an make sure it doesn't feel sharp. Put in a new plastic, and you should be good to go!
