It's very strange Imeo, because from the beginning they were a little tight (compared to this new one) but then swelled up I guess. I've never heard of a plastic doing it, maybe it was some strange manufacturing anomaly when the delrin was made. Maybe this one will swell too, who knows, time will tell

I had the same problem with mine. If you take a close look at the threads on the plastic, the threads are a little messed up. the threads on the base are very fine, and it doesn't take much to damage them. I was able to manipulate the plastic with a pick tool and made it a little easier. In the end I replaced the plastic base piece. The new one works great, and using a little more caution when putting them together, I haven't had any problems.

That makes sense, My last plastic, has worked since it's been in. I think some of us had a burr from machining the threads inside the base, and this initially damaged the threads. Mine base was sharp on the inside, after I ran the sandpaper in it, it removed the burr. Iatty base felt smooth inside afterwards. My friend it using it now, and has had zero problems with it, and it works as good as the day I put it in.

My suggestion, since I think Imeo is right on the money on this, is if this has happened to you, and it's done it repeatedly do the sandpaper trick I described in my previous post to make sure the burr gets removed ;) Then feel in there an make sure it doesn't feel sharp. Put in a new plastic, and you should be good to go!
