Ok so I was interested in diving into the world of tanks. I have heard good reviews from this website but I really don't understand the measurements! What I would like is probably a 3.5 or smaller tank. I was wondering if someone could tell my exactly what I need from this website.

Battery wise right now I have a Vision Spinner and a regular ego battery. And are the acrylic endcaps good or do I need to get the metal ones? I just want to be able to get me a good one that won't leak.

Here is the link......http://www.ibtanked.com/

Thanks!

19mm clear tank (around 2mls): https://www.ibtanked.com/shop-tanks-carto/clear-tubes/19mm-clear-detail

Then get a set of caps of your choosing, I always get stainless steel as they will last forever, but some get the acrylic ones.

You can get a different tank, I just like the clear ones the best, not a big fan of fancy looking tanks, get the 19mm though.

Here's the order I do it in... 1) pick a tube 2) pick your end caps (make sure they're the same size as the tube) 3) pick a drip tip (get a refilling tip too) 4) pick your cartos (make sure they match the tube length). If you don't get pre-punched, you'll need a carto punch too.

Acrylic caps are fine as long as you aren't going to use something like cinnamon or citrus flavored juices. It's easier to just get stainless and not worry though.

If you click on the blog entries under my picture avatar, one of the blog articles is titled vendors that sell prepunched cartomizers. It has direct links to the cartos needed. There is a brief description of what each vendor offers for sale. I leave the choice of vendor up to you.

Be aware there is a difference in pre-punched cartos in the way the hole is made. There are laser-drilled cartos and tool-punched cartos. My preference is for the laser-drilled ones because they are perfectly round and consistant carto to carto. Tool-punched cartos invariably are distorted oval-shaped to the metal tube from the punch tool used, making their insertion into a perfectly round end cap sometimes difficult, and placing undue stress on the rubber o-ring gaskets that are in the end caps. Damaged o-rings can lead to a cartotank leaking.

A laser-drilled carto and tool-punched carto. Note the slight out-of-round shape of the second carto where the hole has been made.

I recommend purchasing the above tank tool available on the website. It doubles as a drip tip/ mouthpiece. But it also can be used as a tool to protect the o-rings and assist tank assembly and juice refills.

It is NOT meant to refill the tank directly thru the tool itself. Watch the following video of a similar device to see how it is meant to be used.

I also highly recommend studying the following video on how to pre-fill the carto, insert the carto into an assembled tank, and how to refill a tank.

Hey guys, had a few questions and figured I’d just add to an already made post about IBT than start a new one. I want to pick up a tank or two for my mods. I've got a Vamo, Tesla, Natural, GGTS Clone, ex. I was wondering what size tank would be good for my mods... either a 19mm or a 25mm. I don’t want the tank to be bigger diameter than the battery mod itself. Not sure what the 19mm or 25mm looks like on a Vamo or similar size mod.

Also, is the XL selection just to have a XL carto come with the tank? Or is the tank actually taller so the carto wont stick out of the top to far?

Also, I've been having some issues with my smoktech cartomizer tanks flooding lately... so far I just have cheap plastic type tanks. I'm wondering how much better the Boge cartos are and if most of you guys are using the boges or the smoktechs with your IBT Tanks.

Thanks again

The 19mm XL looks great on a Vamo:

Personally the Boges I'm using now are working great.

Nice, that does look good. So I take it the 25mm tank hangs over the edges then hu.

I've been thinking of switching to boge... never had issues with the smoktech ones until about a week ago. Now they all seem to flood like crazy. I hear the boge ones are better

Generally speaking, Boge and Smoktech differ mainly in the density of the filler material.

Boge's is more dense. They are somewhat slower to absorb e-liquid, but are less likely to flood.

Smoketech's filler is less dense. Faster to absorb liquid, but more likely to flood.

Depending upon your vaping style, one or the other might suit your needs better.

Choose the length of tank to fit the length of carto that you wish to use, as the below diagram represents.

Nice, thanks for the info and pics. I think the boge might fit my chain vape style better than smoktech then. I vape really thin juice as well, so that should do fine with the denser boge cartos. The smoktechs seem inconsistant to me because some seem to work fine, others flood from the start.

Unless you already have experience with both brands, I'd recommend getting at least a sampling of both. Being that you are a chain vapor, the more densely packed Boges might not be able to keep up with your frequent vaping. Since the Smoktech's are less dense, they might wick faster to keep up with your style. Just a thought.
