iClear 16 reading at 5 ohm?

Hi everyone! :)

It's my first time posting and I'm happy to find this forum. I have a quick question I'm hoping someone will have the answer to. I have several iClear 16's all read at ~2.1 ohm except for one that's reading 5.0. Just curious if anyone knows why this might be and if it's a big deal or not. It's vaping fine, I'm just perplexed as to why the ohms are so high. Thanks! -J

I'd be comfortable using a incorrectly produced atomizer that ended up with a higher resistance with that. Just check it consistently. If it starts bouncing on it's resistance reading, toss it.

Edit- I've never rebuilt a clearomizer's coil or even use clearomizers now, so I can't help you with that. I use a rba for that. Plus, I don't even know if the head is removable with the iclear16.. It has the ridges on the bottom like it is, but my friend and I couldn't get it to screw off when he got his kit the other week.

I used to have the iclear 16's. I found that the resistance varied every now and again. Sometimes it could be due to some juice being left on the bottom of the head where the atomizer touches the head of the unit, and other times it was just something to do with the production of them. I find that innokin products would vary in reliability but none the less, they still worked fine even when they were reading higher ohm's. Like suspect said, just keep checking it.

I like the Iclear 16's. Use them a lot. What you might have is a hot spot where the coil broke on one and is touching the metal casing. You should see the discolor on the casing over time appear like a welders mark. photo iclear 16.JPG

Note, when they seem clogged(resist a pull) try wasing, drying, dry burn with a drop of alcohol on the coil. After this you still need to attempt to loosen the wick by twisting it carefully and sliding it to a clean position on the wick.

Or, just buy new ones as needed:mail:
