Idea for Stainless Steel 510 Cartridge

Made from a solid piece of Stainless Steel rodding, this is how I see it made:

First drill out the inner diameter on the drawing end approx 1/2 way in. Then with a smaller drill bit, dril along the inner wall further towards the other end to create an inner cylinder. Then flip it around, with a small drill bit, shave off just enough on the outside to fit into the atomizer. On that same end, then drill into the center where the inner cylinder is. Finally, drill a slot on either side to reveal the inner chamber. Then finish off the drawing end with a rolled edge tip to make it nice and smooth.

It's been years since I worked with Ai so I hope it's legible.

Anyone care to make some? I'll totally buy a couple...

Sorry, but I don't get what you're trying to do here?? Is this a single piece? or is it two parts?

One solid piece.

The more I thought about it last night as I was trying to fall asleep, the more I realized it probably wouldn't work. The tip would have to have the flat edges like the plastic one does, otherwise the rounded part would be too narrow to fit over the bridge.

I came up with another idea that involves two piece, the inner cart being separate and being pressed into place. However, I think the only way to create these two pieces would be with a press, using dies. Kinda requires big production stuff......

In any case, I think it would rock if these things would made... I noticed one of my carts actually has a couple little melted marks on it already after just short time of use.

Having one single cart that can be reused over and over and doesn't melt is something I think a lot of 510 owners would appreciate.

I was melting carts for the longest time.. until I realized a handy "trick"...

Put it on the atty properly.
Look in your atty.. see that white part kinda oval shaped? See the oval shape on the atty end of your cart? Match 'em up. No more burning the plastic! The stuffing will wrap around the atty bridge better too.

I've not burnt a cart since I started lining them up properly.

Hmm, I've been doing that from the beginning, but last time I took the cart out it still had a couple tiny melted spots on it.

All in all, I think one reusable custom stainless steel tip is much more desirable.

Oh well, maybe some day....

Well I don't use carts anymore but I have been using one Stainless Steel T-Tip for driping. I know driping was not what you were trying to do but it works for me. Got them from Super T Manufacturing. Good luck with your cart design.
