Ideas on fixing scratches?

I have two 650mah green batts. It seems like the slightest wind will take a chunk of the green coating (whatever, we'll call it coating for right now) off the battery. I have a black 900mah that has been through my work and play and not one scratch on it. I've settled in my head that somehow this makes sense, what I am wondering is if anyone has any tips or ideas on fixing the scratches. For example, I tried nail polish. This was a dumb, stupid idea and I feel dumb and stupid for trying it.

Whats wrong with nail polish,i use it to color the frames on my eyeglasses.

scratches on batteries? batteries are normally wrapped with a plastic shrink wrap. Shouldn't be a big deal.

Put a sticker on it and forget it.

Or, you could wrap it.

Nothing wrong with nail polish, good cause it's thick. We used to use nail polish to insulate connections on flashlight mods. Plus you can color match.

What mod & what exactly is scratching the batteries? I'd be more concerned about fixing that first.
