If PVs are drug devices this applies in a big way....

TFN eNews 06/25/2009: “The most-ignored vital news of the week”

This article explains some of the FDA's new plans on control and inspections of chinese drug manufactures at the source. This would take place before anything gets to customs, it could mean good news for quality, or it could mean stopping the product at the source. It was a little vague to tell which, but Im sure you know which one I'm thinking.

Means both. I can see the FDA wanting to do pre-inspections of items before they get shipped (with the problems we have had with Chinese made goods in recent months, they had to), but it could also mean that e-cigs could never get shipped even at the factory because they can be stopped cold. Basically putting the manufacturer out of business. And with the growing number of countries banning them, it may be quite easy to do.

Unfortunately, I feel that the e-cig days are numbered.

The only way for us to survive now is if the e-cig gets repackaged and remarked (at the source), US distributors order smaller shipments (smaller shipments tend to go through easier than large bulk shipments), and for everyone to remove the claims of them being a safer alternative to smoking, that they are healthy, and that they assist to quit smoking.

It's a shame that we have the technology NOW to save lives, yet every country is turning it's back on it. All for the almighty $$$. A damned shame.

This is starting to really blow... they want to tax cigarettes out the ....... and tell you that you cant smoke them anywhere... but when you find an alternative that is healthy they tell you that you cant buy that... GADS.. we need to go 60's on them and start sit ins...LOL

Seriously though we do need to stand up as a group for our rights... just because we do not have a powerful lobby (Philip Morris...ect.) in Washington doesn't mean we should have to sit back and take it in the ...... Obama just admitted the other day he still smokes one (analog) now and then... Of all people he should be understanding... right???

If we all brainstorm we should be able to come up with something... I hope...

E-cigs compete with Altria (phillip-morris).

Altria has congress in their pocket (as demonstrated by the recent "anti-tobacco" legislation).

Therefore, e-cigs will soon be illegal (until Altria can get the patents and develop a marketable product, at which time they will be legal again).

I get discouraged sometimes, too, but the glass is also half full. It seems like there are lots of people exposing the misinformation that's out there. It also seems like we're seeing a little more sympathy from the press lately,,,

I just can't accept the possiblity that when the truth about vaping is evaluated by fair minds,,, that they could ever get away with a total ban...

We just need to keep speaking up!!

They're not going after tylenol. They're going after mixing acetaminophen in with other drugs(NyQuil, but more importantly Vicoden and Percacet) because people will chug too much NyQuil, or pop too many of their pain pills and OD on acetaminophen.

I don't really see this as the FDA being evil, it's basically them doing what they're supposed to do: Regulate medicines. I know three people that have OD'd on acetaminophen(one intentionally) and liver failure ain't fun, kiddies. Besides, the whole reason we have Vicoden et all is that the patents ran out on the plain jane opioid painkillers and tossing some tylenol into the mix just lets them re-patent it to keep ****ing us.

Mind you, if they start ****ing with my e-cigs, I'll be as angry as the rest of you.

We have many extremely smart people on here that I am sure could come up with a working atty. They already have the battery thing whipped and they are in the process of figuring out the juice so an atty is the only thing left. It may become illegal but if you are in your own home, who would know?

I CANNOT go back to analogs. They will kill me and they will kill me very quickly.

Very true. No doubt, eventually the e liquid will be banned. Devices themselves?, perhaps. Never less, I for one will take "chances", and order from China if need be. Myself like many others, are not too worried about it. It would be a hassle, and a crap shoot.

Zrane is right on and it's too important a point to just skip over. The FDA is not out "to screw us." The FDA is out to protect us. If you've been ahead of the health curve, you would have known before now that acetaminophen is nasty, nasty stuff for your liver. DO NOT USE IT. The company making Tylenol, the most widely sold acetaminophen product, succeeded in getting the painkiller in many other products, including Nyquil, etc. So the consumer is overdosing on a product that has led to liver problems. It's all about ..

There is no need for many consumers to use a painkiller other than aspirin, which actually has health benefits if used daily in low doses and has a massive history of safe use as directed. But there's NO MONEY in selling aspirin, so Big Pharma pumps out more expensive solutions that carry a side-effects list that would terrify Frankenstein.

What is wearying here is not the news, but the mindset that says the FDA is a bunch of idiots out to take away our rights. That is just plain wrong.

Aspirin is one of the safest drugs (natural and very cheap too) but it's not harmless; it accounts for around 500 deaths every year in the US.

OH WILLOW, DON'T WEEP

So I haven't taken any medical drug for more than 10 years, not even an aspirin.

All I can say is flood the postal service with a ton of orders to China--they can't check 'em all!! If I have to go back to smoking analogs, I should be able to sue someone for it!! The e-cig is the only thing that got me away from 33 years of 4 packs a day of Menthol analog cigarettes. Unless the Gov don't want a person to get healthy? What has America become?
