If they make a decision against the e-cig on how fast will it go into effect?

That is a really good question. I have been following all these posts about this but haven't voiced yet. I still think until the bill is passed on the FDA getting control over tobacco they really can't do much.

I'm probably wrong since our government seems to be making its own rules lately. So the FDA saying nicotine juice and PV are banned would already be. They would be saying they don't like these devices and they don't want the public to use them. That would still not make using these things illegal, just harder for us to get what we want. Stevia, was not approved by the FDA for years. The FDA claimed it caused cancer, but people could still buy it, and they could still grow their own plants. To me it wasn't really a big deal when the FDA finally "approved it" I was using it the whole time. Nicotine is different, can't really safely make our own nic juice, which will make our lives hell. I can just imagine sending my husband to go buy nic juice from "the guy on the corner".

edited because my brain is fried.

True - we do have some drama, the FDA has put some supplies in embargo. But these are big shipments that are getting stopped (our poor suppliers!!!). Little shipments from China are still getting through - simply because the sheer volume of packages coming across the border each day is too enormous for customs to check each package.

Now we just have to wait and see if the FDA gets its hands slapped again for overstepping its authority - there are 2 cases I know about right now that may have major implications on our ecigs.... the SE case against the FDA, I'm sure most of you are familiar with, and there is another case being argued regarding RJR's Eclipse brand of smokeless cigarette. If this case goes favorably, it will be a positive for harm reduction products and testing standards.

We're in the storm, make no mistake about it, and the winds are blowing us dizzy right now. Be resolute, DON'T PANIC! And, above all, don't take what you read on the forum at face value! The panic of this weekend is a good example......

The FDA will walk away with a another black-eye, and we will walk away with better labeling that indicates what all of us have discovered here... "Use caution", "Items not approved by the FDA", "This device is not for children", "This product is not for long-term use", "This product intended only for existing smokers", "Made in china labels"...

These are all labels I can certainly live with, and I'm sure everyone else could, too.

FDA - Black Eye - I'm envisioning good 'old Rita Chappele sporting a shiner...:D
