As many of you have noticed, there is a decided scarcity of AW IMR 14500 batteries (recommended for the mini) at the present time. The "word" is, they should be back in stock in a few weeks, and I certainly hope that's true.

In the meantime, however, it might be prudent for those of you about to order a mini to grab a couple of "alternatives" just to get you by, and in case those above are delayed.

I understand the AW 14500 Protected Rechargeable Lithium Battery is an acceptable substitute, and they appear to be available at most of the well known battery suppliers.

I'd recommend you purchase at least 2 batteries, one to charge while the other is being used. At least that way you won't be left staring at a less than functional REO Mini, while you wait for AW to catch up to Rob's sales :) :) :)

Great post!! Totally agree. The BDL IMR's and the ***Fire batteries provide poor performance on the Mini, particularly if you are intending to use LR atomizers. Really, the AW IMR's are the best and anything that you purchase in the meantime should be considered a stop-gap measure.
