So, I got the IGO-S in the mail today. I had wanted to see about it's viability on my REO Grand. It is viable for fit, air hole location and so on. I drilled out the center post and replaced the pos. screw with a shorter one. (I happened to have one. Otherwise, I would have cut, filed or sanded it down.) So the juice comes up the center post and out the two holes that were supposed to be for capturing the wire. I must say that the RM2 is hands down the superior atomizer. I just like to play, and wanted to explore options. The air hole is a tad lower than I would like. (I believe this "air hole height lottery" is a common theme with both the IGO-S and the larger IGO_L.) The vape is fine.

Here's what it fits and looks like on my REO.

Man, am I spoiled or what? This is a perfectly decent little atomizer. The vape on it is just fine! ITS JUST NOT THE PERFECTION TO WHICH I HAVE BECOME ACCUSTOMED. Oh, well, it makes me appreciate what I've got all the more! :)
been wanting to do this my self but im afraid it would short my grand. think someone replied something about it.
what drill did you use?

Thanks, FogHawg! OK. All better now. Added an airhole, so I could slant my coil and get air over and under, and so I could drop down to my preferred 28 gauge coil. Now, I'm pretty happy with this little thing. It'll be a good backup, and for when I'm cleaning and re-coiling my 'mizer.

You say you "added" the second air hole. Did you plug up the first one? (I doesn't look like it unless it's somehow covered from the inside.) If not, do you find two air holes too "airy" at all? How big are the air holes? 1/16"?

Aha. Yes. No. Both air holes are operational. They are 3/64". I was not a big fan of the big air hole, but I finally found the tipping point. Right about at a 10-wrap micro w/ 28g, more air is needed and good. (for me). Dual air holes @ 3/64 don't seem any looser in draw, to me, than a single 1/16; in fact, maybe a bit tighter. Hard to say, tho, because I'm not cross-comparing; meaning, its an amalgam of random experiences, not a direct comparison with the same coil, atty, and multiple configurations of holes.

I used a 3/64" bit (just a plain ol' one). 1/16" might work; but 3/64'" (#57, 1.2mm) is plenty and it clears the threads nicely. It's built well enough that I'm not worried about a hard short.

#57 is my prefered size that I use to make all my bottom feeders. I used a Cisco for reference. I've tried bigger & smaller & while it doesn't make a difference on vape of course it's what I prefer. For dual coil setup I do go bigger. FYI 3/64" is not the same size as #57, it's two sizes bigger.

I know. You're right, darkzero. I use them interchangeably because of happenstance. In this instance, it was (to be precise) actually a #57 drill bit.

(which I had gotten in attempt to replace a 3/64 bit from my index. good thing I'm not doing brain surgery)

ADDIT: actually, I was only off by one size. (#56 is .0465, 3/64 is .0469, #55 is .0520)

The igo-s came out good pdib!, hmm.. I'm really digging the squonk thing you reo fellah's are talking about. I think it's time for me to jump on the reo bandwagon! it does get annoying taking my drip tip off to drip, lol why drip when you can squonk :D

Bro, you have no idea what your about to get into. A REO is such a major game changer that I really can't understand why anyone would chose any other way :)

Thanks, again, for posting that video, man! I don't remember which thread that was (since, I believe, I was totally out of line on content). Would be nice to have it linked here, for the REOnauts. . . . . . (hint, asking).

BTW; its not just dripping. Its always dripping 3 drops. (the best of dripping)

Cause he has the same blood type as me. We are common species that many do not understand. Even when absolute perfection is found we must strive on to find more even if a equal level or better can't be found. It's simply gaining knowledge & experience & we can't help it, it's instinct. :D

Some asked if there was any reason to look for any other RBA with the Reomizer out in the wild....

I would have to say YES! I'm a tinkerer, I always have been since I was a kid. The way I see it, the reality is that almost all experienced vapers are tinkerers too whether they like it or not. Even if I find that perfect RBA one day, that won't stop me from trying the next great RBA that will come out & plenty more WILL come. Robert may very well come out with next great version of the Reomizer & so the game will play on.
