I took the top o-ring off... same... put it back on & took off the bottom 0-ring... the same... took both off... dam... still the same ........!!!

tried my cyclone cap on it and bam.... perfect

i had the same problem with my igo-L. it was so hard to remove the cap that eventually i had to dremel it. well, my friend dremeled it for me because my home is about the size of a toolbox LOL. no room for tools here :(

he spent maybe 10 minutes dremeling the inside of the top cap. no idea what type of head he used, but nothing fancy i dont think. it does get really hot when you dremel it though so hold it with a towel or a vice maybe.

edit: the top cap does loosen up on its own, but VERY slowly. i attempted to do that when i first got it and after a month or so of use, the cap loosened, but not nearly enough. if i had to guess, the atty would have to be used for about a year before it loosened on its own.

Have you tried just a drop of juice smeared over the o-rings? That's always been the easiest trick for me with tight atty caps.

True. That works on tight caps. But these particular caps are *mega* tight caps. It almost feels as if you'll damage your mods threads with how hard you have to pull. Ridiculous.

I put my cap on a long screw with two rubber cone washers and a nut and chucked the screw into a cordless drill. Fired up the drill and used sandpaper on the inside to GRADUALLY open up the ID of the cap. Polished it with some Simichrome polish and it works great.

now theres an idea.. I like it... and maybe open it a little more and add a thicker o-ring so that the o-ring is actually doing something.... is a shame they make it so the cap go's tight even without the O-rings

Anyhow i'm defo still gonna buy some more of these.... they are so so easy to drill out for bf squonk systems like the reo.... and I didn't even use a cobalt drill bit.... just a brand new standard 1.5mm bit... so long as you drill the side squonk hole in the post first before the one through the length of the pin vertical because it seems a bit tougher going sideways through and the bit is sharper.... just start off with spinning the bit on the side with your fingers to get it started so it don't slip when you start using the drill....... ;)

So you are drilling these with a hand drill? That's got to be tough.

Are you drilling the perpendicular hole all the way through the center post?

yes cordless drill... I thought it was gonna be tough but I saw a vid of someone doing it and he said that it was brass posts so that's why I didn't bother with a drill bit for stainless steel, only the cap is ss I think...

and yes after drilling the squonk hole in the post I stood it up ontop of a reel that wire came on so I wouldn't have to hold the igo....
and also had some soft wood underneath that for when the drill bit breaks through....

as I was drilling down through the post the post got squeezed out of the bottom of the igo but tbh taking the post out would have made it harder to hold and drill...

just ask if you wanna kno anything else on it..... i'll go look for the vid I watched and come post it for you :)

looks like an A7 design.. I have a couple of these on the way...
https://www.fasttech.com/products/1608300 they are thinner then what you got but little taller... and one of these to try with squonker... https://www.fasttech.com/products/1391001
and this... https://www.fasttech.com/products/1573400 to use on my i134 to stop the thing collecting dust

that's a good one you found..

I tried to find that vid for you but couldn't.. i'll have another look for it later

good finds. i hadnt realized FT had A7 clones. i had an A7 before i got the ones i linked earlier. but i had a locking button mishap on my vmod and i melted the insulator on my A7 rendering it useless. i went to get a new A7 but i stumbled across that one first. it actually works better than my A7 did, as the pos pin is spring-loaded and does not require the stabilization (insulator mod).
