Large wicks can transfer more heat to topper.
I doubt it.

You may have a loose connection between the coil legs and posts. Tighten everything down a little more or rebuild. Also make sure the coil legs aren't longer than they need to be. Clean your 510 connection on both sides. All of this said, the atty is going to at least get a little warm due to continuous use. It may even get hot enough to start irritating your lips if you use a metal drip tip. This is just a product of high wattage, but you can try to reduce it by making sure all the connections are good and nothing us getting hotter than it needs to.

Yes, but carry enough heat to be noticeable on the outside of the cap? That is what I doubt. The wick itself doesn't get that hot.

Why wouldn't a saturated wick get hot and transfer heat when exposed to several watts power? My on the cotton cloud topper has the biggest wick. It is my hottest single coil topper and takes the longest to cool down. I have higher wattage toppers that run cooler.

If your coils are closer to the edge of the rda deck then the rda itself will get the heat from the coil much faster.

If you chain vape, at least for me, the rda gets hot. The IGO w especially. It isn't as thick of a cap as other rda's so the heat doesn't have far to transfer thus making it hotter faster.

If your coils are firing fine and everything is tight down then what you are experiencing sounds quite normal. If you are really worried then try to build another setup and watch your battery.

Sounds right. I'll look at that. Gotta rebuild anyways

could be the wick I really am not sure but it may be the reduced airflow because of the larger wick.
