Here is what I have discovered. The GP Paps Lux switch serves as a replacement for the stock bottom switch. Therefore, I presume the threading on the clone is your typical 20 X 1 threading. Now I guess the next step is to find a 20 X 1 tube that will fit so that we can get this thing to function in the various battery configurations in excess of 18350.

You are correct that the threading on my 2.1 clone is 20x1, which would lead me to believe the original is 20x1.5 or 20x2.0... I would even settle for an 18650 tube for this. The device would still be smaller than most devices in 18490/18500 mode. Even if I am not able to retro the tubes I have or find new ones, I am still very happy with my device and stand behind it as one of the best devices I have purchased, hands down...

Sure do. Got it from VenerableVaping. Andy is a great guy

Yeah, he has been really good to deal with. I was disappointed somewhat originally because when I originally ordered mine he said they also came with an 18650 tube as well, and the Tobeco receipt even said so, but they were never made and thus never shipped!! Other than that i'm very pleased with what my money bought... It is pretty much my daily all day vape. I do have a hybrid kit coming for my Natural, so it may change. One never knows...

Just thought I would share with the few of you that have purchased this device. Today I learned something very important... Don't drop your mod on the concrete. Especially when its only about 20º outside. Tank broke!!! I had a feeling when I first got it this might happen. It originally had a couple of chips in the top of the tank, like from when they cut it, but didn't turn out so. I don't think it was from cutting at all. The tank broke and completely took out the 1/2" space between the chips... All the way down the tank. I have ordered a new tank from Spectrum for it. I am told it will work on the 2.1 clones. I am waiting to find out if Andy @ Venerable is going to get me the replacement like he said he would. I sure hope he does, after the major let down about the 18650 tube not being included as was originally insinuated. Overall I still think Tobeco did an amazing job in building this device though. After all, it is a real glass tank and not anything poly!! I still might have to look into a poly type tank just because of this...

I'm pretty unhappy with mine and it pretty much just collects dust on my desk. I drilled out the air hole which helped it out alot but I seem to be getting a huge voltage drop which is the complete opposite of what I thought made a hybrid awesome. I'm thinking it has to do with it not having a contact screw in the button and I might go to home depot or something and see if I can find a brass screw that fits. Including the worthless tubes I paid $111 for it and comes no where near the performance of my $23 Brass Nemesis clone.

Wow... You paid $111 for those tubes? Where did you get them from? I bought mine from Vaping Ace in Austrailia and even with shipping was around $55... I took the screw out of my switch as it was just plain steel and it really raised the voltage loss of the mod. It hit much better than I remember it did when I first got it. I think a lot of it had to do with not engaging the switch properly. I've tried HD, Lowe's, and Menard's and no go on the right size brass screw for it. I have found a few online, but you have to buy in box quantities. I wasn't about to buy even 50 pcs for just needing 1 or 2 screws...

What setup are you running in yours. I found SS rope wrapped in SS mesh w/ 28g kanthal to be the best with a 3/4 wrap. I just got in some XS-18 yesterday to try in it, but the tank broke before I could try it. I am trying it out on my Natural hybrid at the moment and 1st impressions is I will probably go back to SS mesh wrap. Not as warm a vape it seems. I think it takes a little longer to heat everything up with the XS-18... Once warmed up it vapes pretty good. So far no dry hits when chain vaping...

Which screw are you talking about removing, exactly? The steel one that you were using as a temp until you found a brass one?

Can you link me to the bulk brass screws that you found? I might buy 'em and pass them out if they turn out to improve the mod. I know there is some V-drop but I don't think it's that bad.....at least, not compared to, say a Rainbow Heaven Hybrid Elite.

The steel one I had modded. I was noticing some voltage drop and after taking the screw out it was a much better vape. I will look for the link on the brass screws. I think McMaster-Carr had a box of 25 now that i'm thinking of it. Here is the link... McMaster-Carr. You will only have to grind a little over 1mm off the head for them to work.

Awesome, thanks for the link. That at least helps me with the dimensions, since I don't have any calipers/method of accurately measuring small things. I'm hoping I can make it to a local hardware store and find some with the exact dimensions of the screws in the link, only shorter. Because I don't have a way to grind anything down properly. I figure if I can find one that's a bit shorter, I can just back it out a bit....

Length of the screw won't matter. It's the head height that does. There is only a little more than 1mm of clearance in there so you will have to shave off any head of any fastener you put in there. I have been looking for some thumb screws like I have seen in some adjustable 510 screw post lately for some of the newer cloned mods...

... if you do decide to sand them down by hand... do make sure you start out with the coarser grit. Don't start out with 400 grit. :D

I only realized my mistake after the fact... and fingers started to blister up :D
Preferably, use a Dremel :D

Yes, ^^ good point... I used a dremel with a cutoff wheel attached. Put the screw in a vice and used the flat surface to grind it down a little at a time. The first screw I did I just used a bench grinder and held the screw with a pair of vice grips and it came out ok, but not completely flat like I wanted. I sure miss not being able to use my 2.1 for the past couple of days now. Come on Spectrum and get that tank to me!!! I am diggin' my Natural Hybrid in the mean time though...

edit... I heard from Venerable and now after the fact, it seems he doesn't have replacement tanks at all and only offered up $5 for a replacement tank. They cost $11 @ Spectrum... I should have sent it back to him after I opened the box and found the chips in the tank, but didn't think it would ever break though... I know now for future reference who to deal with and who not... If it wasn't for the fact the device just performs so well and the quality other than the tank was so solid, I would have sent it back all together and just bought the real Ikarus or the Noble 1...
