Had some time in with this little feller and I must say I love it! Did a dual mesh build.....came out to 1ohm perfect first try thankfully! Review should be coming up this weekend :)

Glad to hear you're enjoying it Twisted. Can't wait to see the review!

I must admit she is starting to grow on me.

hows the dual coil build working for anybody? I can't get mine to fire up at the same time

I've ran duals on it since day one without a problem. Can you show us a pic of your build?

Edit... Spectrum tank came in and is too big!! Needed larger o-rings. Then when setting up dual coils, o-ring that holds top cap on snaps and breaks, then to make things even worse tank shorted, (SS rope in wick hole), and melted the insulator plug on +post... Not sure where to get one so I am giving up for the moment... Not a good day at all...

Well I just cracked my tank in half putting it back on too hard :(
Is spectrum a good place to get a replacement? Did they accidentally send u a wrong size?

I don't think they sent the wrong size necessarily, it just seemed a little loose on the original o-rings than the original tank. From what I remember the tank was on there pretty tight. I did find some o-rings at Ace that will work, tank fit very snug, but haven't put it all together yet as I haven't received the replacement parts from the vendor. They will probably get here tomorrow and I will have it up and running soon.

Today was a much better day, finally!!! Received the replacement body from Venerable today. Got the 2.1 back in action again. A couple of things that caught my attention was the +pin in the replacement was shorter. The screw on the underside would only screw in far enough for me to be able to use my AW IMR's only. I can't use my eFest button tops at all. They are too long. Looks like I need to reinvest in some new batteries. All the batteries I have are all over a year old, so maybe this was a sign!! Anyway, I started to setup dual coils on it and realized after I got the 1st coil on, I only have 28g and the 18350's can't handle the low Ω's of a dual 28g setup. I need to order some higher resistance wire to do duals... Oh well... Got it setup with a single coil 28g 4/5 SS rope (5/64")/SS mesh combo @.9Ω and is vaping great so far a couple hours in... I will also add, my worries about the Spectrum tank not fitting with the original o-rings was short lived. The tank fits great and no leaks at all. It's great to have my hybrid back in action... Here's some pics...

Yeah, mine wicks very good the way you see it setup in the above pic. What diameter coils are you making for your duals? A 10 wrap 28g micro, (1/16"), only Ω's out at about 1.4Ω for me and in a dual setup the 2 would be .7Ω total and the 18350's wouldn't be safe to run them. I am working with a 5/64" SS rope wrapped in SS mesh. I tried to wrap a micro and just wouldn't work with SS rope. I have never had much luck with cotton wicks in my genesis type atty's. They always leaked from either being laid down or when there is a good temp change from outside to inside the vacuum in the tank forces the liquid up through the wick hole into the top cap and floods and leaks.. Its that time of year here in Illinois.

Very good review Twisted... If i may point out a few things though, the o-ring that holds the top cap on is a little bit too big and easily replaceable from Ace Hdwe. I got tired of trying to force it back on all the time. Now it just snaps in place real easy and yet takes about the same force, (slightly less), as the original o-ring to take the top cap off. The other would be the resistance you have yours setup at. The coil you tested i believe with the variance in your DMM came out to 1.3Ω. You also need to measure resistance of your other coil and split the difference. So with that said, if you have 2 - 1.3Ω coils on it your total resistance would be .65Ω's... That is probably why it feels like you are vaping something different than what you are actually vaping... I have been unable to set mine up with duals because I don't have the correct size wire at the moment. All I have is 28g and in order to hit my .9Ω target I need some 30 or 32g wire. Other than that I really enjoyed the review. Thanks....

I will have to look into that, but as it was explained to me, is on a hybrid you measure each coil separately and split it in half. If you had 2 negative leads on your DMM you could do both at the same time and it would split it automatically. It would be the same as screwing a standard 510 connector onto an Ω reader. Because both negative post ground to the deck it reads both at the same time in the outer threads of the 510 connector.

I would think touching the +post and the outer threads of the 510 connector would work though.... Not sure about the deck...

yes that would work on a 510 atomizer because that is the connection to the body to complete the circuit when u push the button...but i'm no electrician or electric engineer :p

I believe on our hybrid when u check resistance, you should get very close readings when checking either - screws or deck. Either positive post or top connector screw. This is just from my experience, quadruple checking the resistance so i don't blow up running dualies on a 350 battery :2c:

Just checking back in. My Ikarus has sorta fallen out of rotation and I need to try a different build. The .5Ohm coil is too much for the lil' 18350 to handle. Gets anemic REALLY fast. So what're the rest of you guys running? Wire/gauge/wraps/single vs dual, etc. I still need to drill out the air hole too, but I need access to a drill press and someone who knows how to use one before I attempt that. I don't want to ruin the good looks of this little monster.

I just tried building my first "auto-dripper" and the Ikarus clone was the prime candidate.

Short version: it's dead easy! Seems to work better than in regular genesis mode.
Here's some photos of the process and end results:

No hot legs!

Cotton is pulled through the coil (28 gauge kanthal, wasn't paying attention to the internal diameter) and
excess is tucked underneath it and surrounding the deck.

Eager to try out a few of those new purple Efests to see if I can't get any more oomph outta this lil' dude.

Great to see ya rockin' the Ikarus zip... Mine has fallen out of rotation as of late. Actually, everything has fallen out of rotation since getting my REO. There is just something to be said about juice on demand. I think I might put it back in rotation for at home with a cotton setup and a micro coil since the REO is my go to vape for out and about during the day. I do kinda miss using it. The Origin/Aqua isn't getting much love either as well....
