I Love Jacksonville! Every year i used to pick a random city in Florida
to visit. Jacksonville is definitely a favorite.

Hey wait a minute..Virginia is 7 hours away from South Carolina!

Lol This year it was 80 in a 60, last year it was 90! This speed demon is slowly being extinguished. Thats funny that you mention Springsteen! Unless you have been doing your homework
At England's Glastonbury Festival on June 27, 2009, Bruce Springsteen joined the band on stage during their performance of "The '59 Sound." Brian Fallon later contributed to Springsteen's headlining set, performing the song "No Surrender
The Gaslight Anthem - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Thats Great about the batteries Steve!! Now you can Finally enjoy it! How are ya making out??

Hah! Nope, never looked any further than watching the clip. Being from Jersey, the vocals and style reminded me of him right off the get go.
We're doing OK, albeit a frozen ok. Hit 27 here this a.m. and my house heat can't keep up. I've got portable heaters on each circuit in living room, bedroom and bath helping out. The electric bill is going to put me in a vape purchasing hiatus, lol.

Glad you're there safe & sound. Twelve hours is a L-O-N-G drive... & so sorry to hear about the speeding ticket! 8-o
Hey Mixxer! Why thank you kindly and ahh it's alright. The fun part is, is the ticket is a mystery ticket. Where I wait for near the end of Febuary than call the number on it to find out how much it is! WTF Virginia!?

Yeah, you know me and geography...I got ahead of myself thinking you had reached your destination so that the worrying could cease! In any case, you are there safely now AND you're 'slowing down'? Ahh, the good things that happen as we get older. :w00t:

Now just kick back, relax, and enjoy your time there! *waves to Valleygirl*
hey momma. I'm going to have to get a wifi extender so that I can use my laptop. Then I can get ya on skype and get off this blasted phone. Oh man, when I was younger. I used to play with the govener of every car I ever owned (your taliking to the original aptly named Crash here!) plus I love cars. Anyway we used to find our local chopshop to remove the goveners! Lol ever see a Geo reach 120+ rattling and shakin. You could swear that it was meant to be a back massager!

Good to hear you made it safe and sound. On a positive note the ticket helps the local economy. Ialso am sorry to hear about the ticket but very happy were not talkin accidents here. Hope you enjoy your visit.
You know, a wise man once told me that they could really use it. So beings that they got me with a pretty tactic. ( left 70mph speed limit from W Virginia right info plain Virginia where the limit has "out of blue" changed to 60 from 65. So since that's case. It's not really that big of a deal. But i'm not Scrooge mcduck over here either!

Ahh your just that awesome then Steve! The band was modeled after bob Dylan. Did you ever here of one of the greatest super groups ever assembled? The tracking wilbury's? Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, Tom petty and darn always forget the last one.
When we got here this am it was 27• here also! Ya know this place had portable heaters every where too. But now they actually have a real fireplace! It really warms the entire house! I know they installed it themselves. They say it's nit all that hard to do it and who wouldn't enjoy a fireplace? Try looking into it if ya like buddy. It will kill that elec bill by more than half easily. ;)

Today is already showing a warming trend! I am so happy to the younger generation listening to great musicians of the past. I have been lost on the books and movies, though. So when I saw the mention of some of the best music there ever was, I felt all warm inside.

Ahh Tina, all the old-school music is Real music. I Very rarely listen to anything main stream, it's a waste. I turned on the ol radio once on the road and heard 6 different rap songs that all had the lyrics down down down. And another few songs that all sounded like the exact same thing! Its good to know that these guys make millions and millions for just ripping off one another with cheap sounds. I don't have anything against rap, it's just not my cup really. Some people really have talent in the profession but still. Nothing really out there has any soul anymore, it's all commercial and just a shame. I did make a few albums of the Killers and just wow. Very impressed. :thumb:

Just a fun little update down here:
OK, so my brother-inlaw has a great companion,(his dog) named Dutch, he's a big boy and Most friendly on all levels, he has a big heart with kiddies and is a Chocolate lab. Really great dog.
Dutch has been missing for the past 5 days now and down here is "really out in the country" hence no phone service. So if anyone's trying to call, I am NOT ignoring you! Well anyway, Dutch has done this before, but he was safe and sound because he was with a pack of wild dogs, (yes he gets along with them too!) So we're all sitting outside near the fire just chatting it up and then we hear a great amount of dog's barking far off into the darkness (no street pole lights, no streets for that matter!!)
We all stand up and listen closely.. "Dutch!" my brother calls out. He runs into his house and grabs a wool hat and gloves, sizes me up and runs back in while his wife ran in and came back out holding gloves for me! He then comes out with a 2 ft. machete and hands it to me! He shows me his blades and .38 cal (hand gun) and says "let's go!' He then hops onto the 4 wheeler to get it started, all the while his lovely wife Carissa is explaining what to prepare for "Now there are wild dogs out there along with bears, mountain lions and coyotes. What do you do if a wolf is coming at you? Do you know how to handle a wild dog?" i said "What?!"

So we get on this 4-wheeler, I'm on the back. now keep in mind it's 1 am (total darkness!). We get on to the dirt road and start driving down, he turns off the road into some sort of path and shuts off the engine..we listen. The barks are traveling even further. we get back on the road and keep going till we reach a 3 way intersection. Now we can go left or right only, right? WRONG! We hear the barking coming from the south, Tom my bro inlaw says "hold on" and he guns it forward straight into the woods! All you can see is from the radiating headlight of the 4 wheeler, (yes, the other was broken, awesome) so we're in it now.

The sound of darkness never been so loud. We come to a sudden halt, engine turns off along with the headlight...We're getting closer now. The atv turns back on and we go through twists and turns, and stop. Shut it down and listen again. Same result, By now we are DEEP into these dark wild woods and here I am holding a freaking machete! Totally excited hehe. We move in forward and start to see some sort of lights. we get closer and closer and fine these lights being red and only 2. As we creep up to radiant glow, they form into tail lights! We came closer to find it was a pick-up truck with 2 cages. We hear dogs barking closer than ever but this time we heard shouting voices also. Tom says lets head back around the way and wait for them. I said " Now do you really think this is a great idea?" "Yes, I have a gun" he says. I say "Well what if they each have a gun?, we're pretty much in an isolated place man" he replied "Hmm Good point, lets get the hell out of here!"
So we turned around and got out of there. Still no sign of Dutch :(

I can tell you're not going to have a dull visit! 8-o What do you think those men were doing with the cages in the back of the truck?

I sure hope that Dutch will turn up safe, and soon! :(

Aw Mixxy I could always count on you to be up this late!
From what I hear from the locals,is that dog fighting is notorious down here :( I really hope that he shows up too. He wouldn't be the fighting type, so god knows what they would do/done to him for being so friendly :(
