Well...based on what SMILIN posted earlier....he still has hope, so I will hope along with him. I have already been stockpiling and learning DIY for several weeks now. I will survive should all vendors get shut down...but that's a trigger I hope to not have to pull. In the meantime, I will keep building my stash.

Yeah, it hasnt hit Ohio yet...I went through and made a list of govenor, federal reps and senators, and state reps and senators and their contacts (email, phone, address, fax) and started to draft a not so nice letter...leting them know that as one of thie constituents if they vote in favor of any such bill I will campain to oppose any re-election that they might seek..

Maybe I'm waaay off but with this wording "No product containing or delivering nicotine intended or expected for human consumption" would mean nic free PV would not be covered.

Sorry, juice would be covered as it IS a "product containing nicotine" but the PV wouldn't or well I'm not going to post how the wording should've been lest I give THEM any ideas.

or any part of such a product, that is not a tobacco product as defined by 21 U.S.C. 321(rr)

Right but getting into a technicality if it is sold with something like a "click on" "not intended for the delivery of any nicotine containing product" would put it at best in a gray area. Kind of like how tobacco water pipes are sold. However if I were the business owner I would default to caution.

So no more batteries of any kind. No products containing any metals or plastics of any kind. No products containing any kind of heating elements. No products containing food-grade solvents. No food flavorings. No components of any kind, right?

Prohibition has always worked so well in the past, ESPECIALLY in Illinois, right?

Stop paying taxes. If I lived in Illinois, I would. If it comes to California [again] - I will. I have no doubt that we're gone as soon as the Govenator is.

I am sure Nicorette plans to grab former e-ciggers...and rape the hell out of them. Not me. I didn't just fall off a turnip wagon here. I know a scam when I see one.

Yep. I don't know who will get it, and how, but my prediction is that Big Pharma will eventually manufacture an e-cig spiked with some kind of MAO-B inhibitor (like selegiline), thus providing, for all practical purposes, a "safe cig." Of course they will call it "a smoking cessation device," knowing perfectly well that people will use it to replace, not to quit, analogs. Selegiline and nicotine will be regulated as drugs, they'll have full monopoly. They are not stupid. They are smart and greedy.

Greed is good. If we get to keep our PVs in the end.

This is long-term. Short-term, we can only hope that the bill will eventually be amended or vetoed. Schwartzenegger vetoed a bill trying to ban e-cigs in California, I don't remember the details. So there is hope.

Don't forget about the new nicorette Inhalator that Johnson and johnson is about to release in the UK..hmm wonder how long til that makes its way to the states..which amazingly looks like a e-cig with a birth defect...

It won't necessarily make it to the states . . . when I first investigated quiting cigs a few years ago I read about a nicotine inhaler (I believe Nicorette made it ) and it was REALLY big in the UK and NZ and could be purchased in Canada too but it was not available for sale in the US

Never found out why . . .

I tried the nicorette inhaler years ago and it was like inhaling sand. There is an issue of new people trying this is getting hooked, but I still see kids at my college that smoke regular cigarettes. So, why not ban regular cigarettes? Children will always do what adults do. But that will never happen, because of tobacco lobbyists.

The only thing that can trump money is people. If people call the politicians that represent them and voice how important this is to them, I think it can make a difference.

BTW, for everyone in IL, Gov. Pat Quinn is up for reelection this year!!
