Hey AG!!! How ya doing buddy?

We took off for a couple months with our travel trailer and went up through Oklahoma, northern New Mexico and then down to southern Arizona and then got home to a late Thanksgiving and like salem, we had our family Christmas this past weekend.

So I've been out of touch with thing for a while, but getting back in the groove again!

LOL, I remember how cold that desert can get. One winter in Syria I had to spend a lot of time outside at night and thought I was going to freeze up solid. So I went to the souks when I had a chance and bought me one of those long, wool lined coats that the Syrians wore out in the desert. They can wrap that thing around them and sit on the freezing ground and pull it over themselves like a tent and sit there and sleep and stay warm.

The part I didn't realize is that their wool isn't cleaned and treated like ours and it didn't take long before I smelled like a sheep!

This got me a some turned up noses from the guys I was with ... but a lot of sheep gave me pretty smiles! And the coat did keep me warm!

Hope you and your buddies are able to keep smiling through Christmas and know that we'll be thinking of you and you'll be in our prayers.

TT

Man those Syrians know how to live! Sheep are only for cheap dates and Gyros in Afghanistan. These guys walk around in the same man-dresses they wear all year round and seem fine, even while the rest of us are bundled in extreme cold weather gear and shivering. Some of our German friends scared us up a real christmas tree and some of the day shift ladies made a bunch of decorations out of random stuff they found. All in all our Christmas is shaping up pretty well. Sarge is on leave and gets to spend his with his wife and 2 daughters. Side note, 3 of the dozen or so people who got their first e-cigs through the care packages have quit completely and given back their kits to PIF. 2 have gone back to cigarettes and the rest still stop in weekly to swap out flavors. Can't believe it's gone over this well.

That's true, but there aren't very many available asian women in the army.

Good to see you here AG! I am glad that you seem to be making the best of the situation there.

When I saw that you had posted I was hoping it was to say that you got the package. I am going to get the tracking to you today lol

That is pretty good that only 3 people gave up and went back to cigs :) The thing is that when those 3 decide that they are ready to quit they already know about the option of ecigs so all may not be lost with them either. Hopefully you will find 3 others that want to give them a shot and able to put the kits to use.

Have a good day/night and I will bbl with that tracking number.

The box was here! It's been sitting in the mail room in the wrong platoons spot all day apparently. Good Lord there is a lot of DC's in here, let alone juice!

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I don't have to go to my car in the pouring rain and get tracking lol

Is everything in it OK? I was worried about all of that liquid.

A Soldier Is A Gift

As we celebrate Christmas, and we open our gifts,
we realize what priceless gifts a soldier gives to our country—
the gifts of patriotism, service, and deep dedication to our nation.

As we feast on a variety of fine Christmas delicacies,
we acknowledge that a soldier personifies a variety of fine qualities:
courage, good character, honor, fortitude amidst hardship,
persistence in subduing evil, and bravery in the face of danger.

A soldier is a cut above the rest of us,
doing jobs we could not or would not do.
While we are surrounded by Christmas comforts,
we remember soldiers in places we would not want to be,
bringing the gift of adaptability to any situation,
no matter how harsh or difficult.

As we "ooh" and "aah" over the Christmas lights and shiny ornaments
we recognize that a soldier gives us the most cherished gift of all,
the shining light of freedom.

At Christmas, let us wrap our hearts and minds
around our treasured soldiers.
May they understand how very much their service means to us.
Let us send the Christmas gifts of love, respect and admiration
to our steadfast, loyal, magnificent warriors
and their essential civilian support staff.

They themselves are the most precious Christmas gift of all,
our protectors—our soldiers

Merry Christmas AG and all of our troops!!!!
