Seperate blankets...Shoulda thought of that years ago.

Been married for 15 years and started using my own blanket about 14.5 years ago!

Hubby and i have one of the best mariages I know of. And when people ask how we make it seem so easy I tell them two things. First whoever you marry make sure they are your best friend (he was my best friend for years before we even dated) second ... seperate blankets!

I had no choice with the blanket thing some time in the middle of every night he does one of two things, throws his blanket off the bed, leaving me without one or wraps himself up like a mummy using the entire blanket leaving me without one.

I've got friends I can't even drink with for the same problem. They just got their heads wracked a little too hard. I was pretty lucky to be mostly working for the Iraqis and didn't deal with as much as the force protection side. The only bad stuff was hearing mortars slap around and not know where they were. So far this deployment isn't as "exciting" as the last (knocking on wood).

Hey pokey! That's the greatest avatar ever :D too bad I hate cats more than camels.

UT OH!!!!!!!!!! Now I am a HUGE animal LOVER lol Never been around 1 but I would probably love camels too :) Although I don't think that I will plan my next vacation in your area in order to find out lol

I'll definitely have to work on a camel one in your honor...but these things take time (at least for me). I'll be sure to drop by to visit when it's ready. :)

By the way Ms Gizmo, the fish in my aquarium are taking real offence to that avatar! Everyone always sides with the cat lover, what about those of us who love fish!

So can you make one for me where the fish are messing with cat... maybe spitting water in his face, I know cats don't like water!!

Oh no, I'm going to get real unpopular here now with the cat lovers...

Sorry

What is it you do there AG (that is of course if you can share it on-line)

Well, I spent the whole year training on a Humvee mounted heavy machine gun (50 cal) in order to do convoy security and NATO escort. But we got here and the tactical situation just doesn't allow for U.S. ground movement a whole lot. Plus we're an aviation unit, so no since going I.E.D. hunting. So I went from those high expectations to being a carpenter. When there isn't anything to build I'm "in training" to take over the company training (rifle ranges, PT tests, etc ). Only been outside the gate a few times in 3 months.

A carpenter when there is nothing to build... hmmm sounds like you could of stayed in the states for that!

and yeah I do not care for cats. My wifes cat used to attack me all the time (still have scars). She said it was because I must be evil deep down, until it killed our bearded dragons and put the left overs in our sons crib for him to chew on....sorry it's gross but that left a bad taste in my mouth for cats.

That sounds horrible. I don't blame you. I don't like cats because they don't like me. I am a huge animal lover. Not including the 200 gallon salt water tank we currently have 7 pets in the house (4 dogs, hedgehog, chameleon and a catilina macaw) and I have my eye on the sweetest lemon beagle puppy, but the hubby won't let me get her. Here's a great segway ... he says there is no room in the bed for another dog!!!

All four dogs love me and follow me around like I am the pied piper. When I leave they cry. I've never met an animal that didn't like me ... but then there are cats. When I walk into my moms house the cats scatter. I've only met one cat in my life that wanted anything to do with me, but we had to put her down a few years ago. She acted more like a dog but her sister used to attack me when I was sleeping! Some times I'd wake up bleeding. Since then no more cats!

Man if I can't wrestle around and howl like an idiot with my animals, I don't want them. Plus that blue heeler is the best hog dog I've ever had.
As far as the job, this is a new Base for the u.s. so there is plenty to build. Getting material is the hard part. No wood, no work. Basically my job in a nutshell is I make soldiers lives easier.

Talking about building has anyone watched the discovery special Raising Ground Zero (or something like that) I know I mentioned it earlier, but I have now watched all 6 hours and it is incredible what they are doing over there... The thought that has gone into these buildings blows my mind. The way the architecture is, they have placed the building so that every year on september 11th the sun shines through at 8:46am and shines right where the first tower used to be. Tower one will be exactly 1776 feet high to represent the declaration of independence and it just goes on and on the awesome things they are doing. The only thing that has me a bit put off is that in 6 hours of showing you all the cool stuff they are doing, there was no mention of renewable energy or talk about building to be eco freindly!

But I'll tell you this much, they do not have a lack of wood or iron on that job site!

Oh and I've heard that the heelers are incredible breeds. Do you take him hunting? We have two different hunting breeds in the house, but you can not hunt with dogs here in Montana!

yeah I've taken him hog hunting 3 times now and he hasn't gotten a scratch, but he did help grab up 4 boars..well him and we used my little cousins pitbull to kind of show him the ropes.
Not to mention he is amazing with my son. When we go on walks my son drives his little power wheel and my heeler runs along side of him and nips the truck when he starts leaving the side walk. It's funny as hell watching them.

Sounds like a great dog AG! I have a 12.5lb maltese / dachshund mix named Chase. He sleeps with me, loves my pillow and I wake up most mornings with his .... in my face LOL! As for what I do...whatever my MIL wants right now. I used to work in the nuclear power plant industry but I haven't worked (for a paycheck) in 18 years. Here's a pic of my fur baby, Chase.
