I am trying to remember where and when but I read statistics say that there is a fair amount of people that have guns for protection getting shot with their own guns.

Hi AG and Sarge!

There are "Lies, damned lies, and statistics" I am sure people drive over themselves with their cars, too. LOL

Everyone should read "More Guns, Less Crime" by John Lott.

About 15 years ago I held a guy up against my wall at the business end of my 16 gauge until the sheriff deputies got there. He was pretty glad to see those handcuffs when he figured out he'd chosen the wrong house to break in to.

Now that...That is friggin awesome. It's shameful that there are groups out there that would take that away and would have it so you would have had to hide in a closet rather than protect your home.

probably an issue where a spouse comes home early to a big surprise or something.

Actually what I remember reading about was gun owners being victims of crimes and the criminals getting ahold of their guns and shooting them. That was awhile back and I could not even begin to tell you where I read it but I do remember reading it :)

Yeah but it might be good that you got to the gun before he did :)

That is cool Bov!

If you liked that youll FREAKING LOVE this I had it passed to me buy the same guy that taught my concealed weapons permit class lol. Sorry I havent been around, glad to see your doing well, hurry home bro

I've read that some where before as well! I bought my husband a Kimber a few years back.

The guns or no guns is such a tough debate. I personally have met two people who have accidently shot themselves. But neither of them where two smart so...

Thing is, I've been held with a gun to my head during a home invasion while I was in college, these people busted in high looking for money and left with all of $35 from the three of us that were in the house, it was just a random crime and my bad luck for being there, luckily no one was hurt.

Oddly enough a few years later, shortly after I met my husband his apartment was invaded as well. In his case the robbers meant to go to the drug dealers that lived a few doors down.

My experience made me unaturually nervous about fire arms, I sweat and shake when they are in my sight! My husband however went out and got a concealed weapons permit and has been armed ever since. It wouldn't have done him much good that morning as he had just woken up and was walking out of his bedroom in his boxers!

It's an amusing story but it's fake. snopes.com: Letter to Mugger

Salem I have heard that too, but in a lot of cases the gun owner is afraid to use their weapon in a case of self defense. I would not have felt good about it but if it was necessary, I would have no problem shooting to kill if my life or a loved one's life was in danger. I used to carry a stun gun and had a cop friend tell me it wasn't legal. I asked him if he'd rather see a mugger unconscious ...... his pants on the ground, or me dead in the alley.

AG and Drew...have a fantastic day!!

Hi Sarge and AG! Oops I meant to say AG and Sarge lol

Theres the thing right there. I can't and won't even kill a bug I could not kill another person. Now I do believe if my life was in danger or the life of any other person I could probably do it but I guess that I will never know :)

Have you ever seen the movie "men who stare at goats"? there's a point made about fresh troops fighting in vietnam, how they would instinctively shoot above the enemy. Had something to do with the idea that almost everyone is hesitant to take a life. I will have a fantastic day, and you do the same!

Now that movie sounds extra dumb but I may just have to watch it. HEY! You should get a package in the next few days :)

Lets hope you never do know! One of our most basic instincts is to survive, so I have no doubt you probably could if it was the only option.

I too believe in the right to bear arms (that is why the hubby has so many guns)... I just hate guns!

AG, hope the day is going well for you. You did not miss anything, the hubby is on his way with no Elk to show for his 7 days away... At least that is what he said when he called. Every now and again he likes to trick us, but he sounded pretty let down.
