wow! this really is an active forum isnt it?! :)
Thanks for all the replys - i never expected so many!!

so, i havent really thought of a price range, it hadnt occured to me, the sites that i have browsed over, non of them seemed to OTT price wise, i have been looking at general starter kits, would this be the best way to go?

I also ought to point out that i am from the UK, and it would make sense to order from the UK would it not? I could order from the USA, i wouldnt mind waiting, but for replacment parts/accs. etc, it might be easier to order somewhere in the UK for now?

I was thinking about this, what do you think?

ETA: (ignore the link i left!) sorry for ignoring those of you who suggested checking out liberty-flights, for some reason i assumed they were in the USA, so basically, i have just looked, and they have some great options AND prices!!!, will have to look at their site more thoroughly ;)

I started to go with the eGo-T but the whole leaking thing and lack of flavor concerned me. I'm not a big fan of Cartos, I like idea of the ez of refilling a tank. I'm giving the pump carts a try to see how I like those.

I had the same problems after a while, so I'm using Got Vapes Fluxomizers on the eGo battery (and Silver Bullet and Omega) and love it. I like the eGo as a starter kit because it's pretty user friendly. Once you get your feet wet, there are so many fantastic options out there it's overwhelming. It's only been 4 weeks and I've already gotten 2 mods and looking at a 3rd. New addiction!

Tornado eGo-C E.Cig Full Kit - Black

Though, they all sound great on that website!! (my newbie'ness coming through!)

Battery life is a big factor for me, i want it to last a long time before having to be charged!! - i work outdoors, ofcourse, i could get several batterys, but its a bit of a nuisence is it not?

If you are leaning to the eGo, IMHO the Tornado eGo-C is a great choice. I wish the eGo-C had been available for my first kit. It's the same tank system as the eGo-T but has changeable attys. My eGo has a great battery life and lasts all day no problem. I have the 650mAh, but if there is a higher mAh (900 or 1000) you may want to get that just for peace of mind on the battery life.

Whoa! Way too expensive! Do NOT buy that Ego-C, at least not from there.

As others have said, go with the Riva 510 Carto Deluxe (Boge) starter kit for 33..99 here - Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510 A general rule of thumb on how long a charge lasts is 100 mah = 1 hour of vaping. Of course, your vaping frequency and the type of cartomizer/atomizer will have an effect on that. A low resistance(2.0 ohm) carto/atty will use more battery power than a carto/atty rated at 3.0 ohm. The 2.0 ohm will also give you a warmer vapor compared to the 3.0 ohm carto/atty), which you might like, since you want a strong "hit." The higher the nicotine level, the stronger the hit will be also. Try 18-24 mg strength juices to begin with.

Also, pick up some 5 ml bottles of various liquids. Mix some tobacco and no-tobacco flavors. I quickly found that I preferred non-tobacco flavors when I started (a month ago ). Also, pick up a PG and VG version of the same flavor, so you can compare the two.

In the meantime, READ ECF UNTIL YOUR EYES BLEED! Get your post count up, so you can post in the UK section here on ECF. Your neighbors will have better advice as to where to shop than us Yanks. :p

Boy I wish I would have found this forum before I bought my first kit.

Day 1 vaper here ... and NOT to try and contradict the Vet Vapers here, but I would have to say that not all minis are created equal. The Halo G6 I have bought seems to create more vapor on a light 5 second pull than I can inhale without choking (see my other thread in this forum called about this as I am concerned). Also the batt with the Halo G6 (Electronic Cigarette by Halo) is only a 250 mAH (or is it 270?) ...and I have been moderately vaping all day and each battery has lasted me about 4-5 hours between charges.

BUT.... I would have started with an eGO as well had I read this forum. Just for the reason of more versatility for upgrades. The mini's your pretty much stuck with if you upgrade. Now I will still use mine for in the car or at work, only so it doesnt draw as much attention and easy to slip in my pocket and carry.

Screw on a LR carto and tell me how long it lasts.

you could try a cheap disposable first and see if you like it that's what i did
If you do then can take your time finding out more, if you are after strong flavour and punch maybe this would be lacking a bit but they do pack the nicoteen as well as the expensive ones just make sure go for the strongest
i'm sure it will help one way or another and help direct your future with them, the worst that could happen would to not be too impressed but you'll still learn a lot and then get to where you want to go

the one i got is still working well and sits in my pocket when out and about
a quick call round local pharmacies should turn up the goods!

You're going to want juice with a good throat hit. E-juice is made up of either PG, VG, or a combination of both. Most people will tell you that PG has more of a throat-hit but I'm not sure totally agree with that. PG does irritate your throat more, so you feel more throat hit in that sense, but VG produces much more vapor. When you inhale a big cloud of VG vapor you're definitely going to feel it so don't think that VG is without any throat-hit. It's just different.

Ok, so i found the PG and VG bases on liberty flights - obviously i know nothing about the juices, so wouldnt intend on making my own yet. But (i think?) im correct in beliveing that pg is propylene glycol, and vg, is vegetable glycerine (please feel free to correct me if im wrong), i used to use them in making my skin care products (soap/face cream etc), i stopped using PG, as tbf, i dont like it - it irritates my skin beyond belief, and i believe it is generally not very good for you - so really, i dont think it would be much good putting it in my throat??

So, if im correct in saying that VG is vegetable glycerine, then surely i can use the same glycerine that i put in my skin care produce? i pay a 3 times less (for the same amount) than it is on the website iv been looking at..

I notice that you can just get a VG based liquid :) so thats great!!

i like the look of this one

Tornado eGo-C E.Cig Full Kit - Black

you can also get a "compact set" for roughly half the price from the same place, it doesnt have such a bit battery, but they do additional 1000mAh batterys - it doesnt state that they will fit the compact - what do you think?

not sure that i will go with either though - might just go with something from liberty flights - they have really good prices!!

this looks great too!
The INFERNO Kit Electronic Cigarettes | ECig Atomizers

not sure they would post to the UK though!!

whats everyones opinions? :) x

If you are using Liberty Flights UK, I would skip the eGo as it is only 3.4 volt and get the Riva 510 which 3.7 volts. You will be better off in the long run.

On the eliquid, since LF sells 5 ml bottles, I would recommend you get at least one in PG. You may find you like it better without any problems. PG based eliquids let the flavor through better and provide a little more throat hit. Many people actually mix the two, ususally in an 80% PG to 20% VG mix although many also just vape one or the other.
