808's are dandy, tis how I started, though they have terrible battery life. I'd recommend getting a kit that comes with a PCC so you can charge up without being plugged in.

I haven't got one (yet) but here's another vote for the Redd's Keychain.... apparently, they're the bomb, and much more beefy than you'd guess.

Hugrem. The kit I HIGHLY recomend, is the Smoketip. These are KR808D1 bats. they are of the highest quality 808's out there. Life time replacement(which I have used-just keep your reciept) with no arguement whatsoever. The cartos are a bit pricey, but any 808 cartos fit obviousely, and the can be refilled many times. At most they are $59.99 but sometimes they are on sale. You also get a free battery if you but 3 carto packs. I have given this kit to several of my wifes friends that wanted a cig look to try. They all loved it. The vanilla is realy good. Oh yeh, free shipping, and its fast.
