I have often thought there should be a thread just talking about the devices/items over the years, sort of a history of vaping and place to post pics of the many items. The nostalgia probably wouldn't appeal to newer folks. I continue to be amazed at how this industry has grown in such a short time and with all the obstacles thrown at us.
It took me a while to locate this thread:

Eight and a half years vaping for me and I'm still excited about the fact that there's a great way to stop smoking without the laggy feeling and cravings the times before when I tried to give them up. Vaping was a right turn for me. Had I continued to smoke my lungs wouldn't be clear again and I'd be huffing and puffing to get things done.

I quit smoking for a year one time and later bought a pack during a stressful period in my life. I bought another and another and was a hooked individual in no time. All the time that I quit I was constantly thinking about smoking. Vaping cured that. I really don't think about quitting vaping and I certainly don't think about smoking again.

I think a common theme here is the 'Voyage Of Discovery!' era has ended for a lot of people - most people who have been vaping for years like myself have probably found more or less what they like by now.

The industry in my opinion has got to the same place as the smartphone one. Both started within a few years there's the initial amazement at the concept; a period of refining flaws by making sweeping changes; a period of doing several nice but ultimately minor tweaks to improve customer experience... And now where there's a strong element of market saturation and 'improvements' are superficial and quite often desperately gimmicky attempts at making existing customers upgrade to the newest model

There was a time when I would look forward to when my smartphone contract expired so I could get an exciting new upgrade but I'm perfectly happy with my 2 year old model until it stops working and that's roughly been my attitude towards vaping equipment too.

Having said that I don't feel bored of vaping at all and love trying new flavours (I've never built my own stuff or made my own juice but I can see how that would get boring after a while).

I'm afraid the biggest problem I am finding with vaping is not my boredom, but companies deciding the product I like and continue to like is obsolete. I have been through several phases. Mostly used clero's of some type or the other, tried sub ohming, not impressed with that at all. So now and for the past year I have been using a t-dux 2.0 which I really like. Was using an aspire bottom coil tank before. I like this t-dux, am happy with it, but now am having issues getting more. I have ordered about 6 months of coils, but sadly the actually clero's start leaking after being dropped a few times. I'm a clutz.

I'm not so much bored after all this time, I just slipped into a groove where I'm happy with my equipment and my e-liquids and no longer need to chase the shiny's.

I had momentary panic earlier this year when I discovered that my tank is now discontinued everywhere, I hunted around and stocked up with a few so that if I break something, I know I'll be okay for a few years. :)

As long as they continue to make the coils I like, then I'm golden. :)

Not quitting, just not nearly as enthusiastic as I was just a couple of years ago. I think I have reached my saturation point, as with many of my other hobbies.

......

So, yeah, I'm bored.

Anyone else?

Yup I agree in all points. In the last few months to even a year or more, I find that there's absolutely nothing new that is different or "new" enough to warrant caring about it. I think that we've simply reached the "golden age" of vaping where there's nothing truly new anymore. The mods are technically all doing the same, the tanks are all copying on each other... there's so many types of coils and with SS becoming the defacto wire, etc... the only thing left are the same repeating arguments over the same things, the same questions that no one even bothers to look for answers... so yeah... that's were things stand and where they've been for a fair while now.

I too was getting bored with vaping and then squonking came along (I'v been vaping since 2011) and I got excited again. I vape at 1.2 mg of nicotine and it is great. I recommend the innokin lift from Busado and vapinggreek. Other atomizers beyond that are booo..ring. So if you havent got an innokin lift yet for $20.00, get one and you'll become excited about vaping again, I guarantee it.

You know, I got all stocked up when Deeming started. It was a long and stressful business. Ever since I've avoided trying new stuff. What if I got a squonk or somesuch and it was better than a KFL on a Provari. Have to start stocking up all over again. So it's a choice between being bored and being broke and in a panic. There's worse things than boredom. I'm going to find a nice patch of warm sand, bend over, and stick my head down there deep where I can't hear the world going by.

I've decided I'm not bored with vaping yet, however I'm not buying every new thing that comes along. I plan to save up for a Dicodes mod and that is plenty not boring to me, for example. I still find DIY new mixes exciting and fun.

I have a feeling my vaping may grow more utilitarian in the future, when I have less time hanging around the house. I mean, I'll just have less time and it will be less exciting, probably and certainly less expensive because a lot of my "must have stocked up" things are stocked up, and I really have learned to research stuff before just buying it.

I don't think I'll ever be completely bored however, but I am super happy with the vapes and gear I have. It's a good feeling, not necessarily "boring" either.

Anna

Which dicodes mod are you interested in?
I'm looking at a dani V2 tube mod, figure it would look good with my Mark Bugs Gem Light tank.

For now I'm using a EhPro mod 101 with a dicodes end cap on it, poor man's dicodes lol.

Squonking is pretty much all I do anymore, with a bit of dripping when I want to fog up the basement. :)

Most of my stock is squonkers, spare Reo parts, wire, rayon, and DIY supplies. Got plenty of mods and RDAs, and a huge box of rayon. Anything else can be bought no matter what the FDA does to us.

One of the box mods, I have enough tube mods, but I haven't gotten as far as figuring out the details, it's going to take a bit of saving.

I also think the charging plate is neat, but then it also makes me wonder just how difficult it is to swap out batteries. I hope it's not, because I also don't want to pay over 100 bucks for that thing.

So, I did a speed check and then exited the site at high speed... For now.

There was a purple stabwood thing but I was so blinded by its appearance I couldn't even say which model it was, not the mini though.

When anything is new to us it's exciting and we can't get enough of it but sooner or later it all settles.
I have my share of hardware. 10 total mods, mech & regulated and 7 rda's and 2 rta's but this pales in comparison to what many other vapors have.
I just come to a point of I don't need to put out unnecessary money for hardware devices anymore. I have all I need to deliver the eliquid and my nicotine level. I don't need anything more except eliquid and the occasional purchase for wire, cotton wick and cells.
