Hello ECF, first I wanna thank you all for all your posts and comments here, it's been super helpful on learning all about ecigs. Secondly, I think I've read way too many, compared way too many ecigs and sites and carts and attys and at this point I feel like I could run through a brick wall without feeling a thing. I'm frustrated and confused. So I think I've come up with a solution. Just give you guys some info on me, and then if you're all as nice as you seem you can literally just choose my ecig, the whole shabang, accessories, with links leading me where to get them all, and after reading them all I'm sure there may be some common suggestions and I'll just go with those. I promise if I don't like what I end up buying I will not kidnap your family. Whew...

Now that that's said and done, a little about myself, I've been smoking Newport 100s for more than half my life, and I really would like to quit SO freakin bad. This seems like the best possible nicotine replacement therapy out there. I smoke 2.5-4 packs a day.

As for my preferences with my ecigs, I guess I'll tell you what I think I want and you can either tell me I'm dead wrong, or just steer me in that direction. Some bullets!!!

- Good quality (don't mind spending more to get something that's worth it and will give me less headaches)

- Lots of combos and colors, I know "what a girl", but doing my research I found some ecigs only have like black, white, stainless, and there's others that have a ton of colors for the batts and then you can even get a different color for the cart part, I like these sorts of things. Unless of course it's really dead sexy without needing to be colored.

- I like those drip tip jammys with the swirly colors.

- I don't like pens.

- I don't like things longer than my arm, but I do want POWAH babyyy so if there's a way to get power without it being ridiculously long, screwdriver looking, or one of those boxes, that would be ideal. Even if it has a fatter battery that's okay.

- It would be awesome if the carts/cartos/cartys and batts were'nt really expensive, because I dont wanna have to lug juice around and be fillin 'er up every 20 seconds, as I'm a heavy smoker and I'm sure I'll be a heavy vaper. Just look at those pretty clouddddssss.
So I was thinking I could get like 5 setups and get them all worked out for the next day and I could then just switch to the next when one is out....this is sounding more ridiculous typing it than it did in my head

- Auto or Manual: Don't much care if it's auto as long as sounds n things don't turn it on, and it has that pulling air sensor...manual I don't mind as long as I don't have to hold a button down consistently, an on/off switch would be ideal.

- Along with your recommendation, any tips n tricks for the model would be great, as well as sharing sites where I'd have to buy the replaceable parts.

- i <3 coupon codes

- If you have any further questions or if there's anything I left out, PLEASE let me know...I want to help you to help me, so that I can help myself :]

LOVES and KISSES to ALLL the ECF'ers out there <3 <3 <3 <3

(Sorry! Long...)

I smoked for close to 30 years, newport also about a pack and a half a day.

I'm not saying this is the only way, or the best way, I can only tell you what worked for me.

I got a Joye ego from Liberty Flights (Riva is the same thing). Got two boxes of boge 2.0 cartomizers and drip tips. Ordered juice from nhalers (nuport).

I've purchased other batteries, different types of cartomizers, a hundred bottles of juice. But that's the very simple set-up that got me off cigs.

They have colors, but who cares. If you goal is to quit smoking, that'll do it. The cost of the items I mentioned plus about 30 ml of juice cost about $60.00. Less than a carton of cigarettes.

"2.5-4 packs a day"
wow.... and those are NY prices.

"- Good quality (don't mind spending more to get something that's worth it and will give me less headaches)"
that's the way to do it...... sounds like you have money to spend.($10? or is it $12? / pack of cigs)

I'd recommend the Provari or other VV device...
cisco 306
boge cartos
carto tank
AVE or KBV juice

look to spend around $300, and you will not have any headaches.(due to faulty equipment)

welllllllll, and ya want it all for 10buxlolol...JK...lotssa colors huh...well you could get one of the KR808D models from smokelessimage.com or bloogplanet.com or vapor4life.com ...lotssa color choices for your batts(extras around 10bux) and even cartos...the batts on these units will last you 3hr+- depending on which size you get...BUT, I would havvta suggest looking at the kGo(42bux) from hossierecigsupply.com for batt(17bux for replacements) life of 10hr+- and if you use cartos with it, you can get a bazillion colors and styles...another option would be E-Power, slightly fatter and has better/cheaper(about 5bux+-) batts than either of the others mentioned, should be used with cartos(w/pretty drip tips)...it is available from hoosier(42bux) as well and from crystalclearvaping.com(55), a few bucks more but includes juice, cartos and free shipping...sooner or later, you will havvta make your own choices...by the way, for the KGO or E-Power, you can always get some stick on skins in all sorts of colors and patterns......

Thanks so much, I was thinking of getting an ego or ego t...do you have any preference? Also, did you get manual or auto? Just out of curiosity what other batts and cartos did you get and which did you end up liking the best? About the juice, do I just need to get the nic juice in the nuport flavor or also get bottled of the VG or PG stuff?

I personally wouldn't spend $300 if I didn't know whether I like vaping. If they found out they did, definitely look into mods. But see if vaping is for you first. You'll get a good idea with an ego for $30 with LR cartos because you get a pretty good vape.

I agree. The ego is a great way to start. I have a few mods but still use my ego as well. It is a great kit to start with! Do gett a good device such as an ego to see how you like vaping. You will be amazed. Also get at least 36 to 24mg nic juice to start. This will keep the urge for analogs at bay.

OOPS, I thought I was replying to just the first poster, now there's a bunch!!!! Thank you so much guys! Now here's where I'm iffy about getting the ego and then ending up with the provari or something similar..I know myself and I'll definitely end up buying the usb charger, pcc, car charger, etc..all the bells and whistles and then want to move onto the rolls royce in no time. If I get the Provari or something similar (links for the higher end models would be great) and I really end up hating it...I could always sell it right?

The Ego seems to be a pretty common starting place. With your smoking habit you will want to get very high Nic content fluids (36 mg is usually as high as it goes). Also, it is unlikely you will find exactly what you are looking for with one order. I say go for the ego kit and use it to try to cut down(significantly if possible) then decide what you want more of and search it out here on these forums.

If you want high power be prepared to spend 2-4 times as much to get started. I suggest checking out the Buzz and Infinity pro over at Notcigs. They are variable voltage devices which will allow you to dial in the power you want. Pick up a tank and some pre punched cartos while you are there and you will be just about set.

I use the mega cartos on the ego. I have tanks too but the cartos work much easier IMO. The good thing about egos are their versatility to try different things on them so it really does not matter. The mega cartos hold at least 4ml of juice so they last a while between fills. The smaller boge carts are nice too..just have to fill more. Manual batteries are much better IMO.

Personally, I just got a Prodigy V3.1 from puresmoker.com and it's been nothing short of amazing. The finish is beautiful, the design, size, materials, everything is perfect. Only there are two finishes, satin and media blasted. The switch is badass and works every time. They also sell various colored Ego batteries and I think they have em in pink.
As far as juices:
Id go to either avejuice.com for high vapor tobacco juices
backwoodsbrew.net for tobacco and other types, everything is super high end and tasty
puresmoker.com really impressed me with thier hard cider juices, its awesome.
nhaler.com has really good variety juices
and kick bass vapor also has amazing stuff. Id just check their top most bought stuff and go from there

...get manual batts...auto might seem like the way to go BUT, they are delicate and easily killed, especially for someone who plans on refilling their own carts/cartos(liquid in the switch is a killer)...as far as a manual goes, you gotta hold it right, well hold it with your finger on the button and you will find it no big deal at all

...juice, certainly get some NuPort type juice but don't limit yourself...there is a wonderful world of juice choices out there so don't limit yourself...I didn't think I would care for anything but tobacco flavors...I was wrong...the best thing is to look around and get sampler sizes from several vendors to find what ya like...don't be too duly influenced by the fanboi/gurls for various juices 'cause everybodies taste is different...just look around for juice that sounds good to you...

...the choices are yours so don't drive yourself nuts, the important thing is to get started...JUST BUY SOMETHING ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!
madjack:2cool:

p.s. there is a lot to be said about the KISS principle of buying a 30buck Riva510 and some 510 low res cartos from Liberty-Flights.com ...a great PV to start, learn and expand upon...it's what I started with and am vaping right now.............mj

I gotta second the e-Go model or an equivalent model and yes, wait on considering a Provari! as that would be like carrying around a screwdriver which you wanted to avoid. Liberty-Flights is the way to go for the starter kits. Upper left corner, click the 20% coupon and you can get an e-Go starter kit with 2 batteries, 2 atomizers, and a 2 month warrenty on your battery for about 43$ with shipping. Wana spend less, I hear the Riva is about 30$ The e-Go standard batteries should last about 8 hours. An upgrade battery often going by an "e-Go T" battery will last even longer. For now I would advoid the tank system. Once you get the swing of things you can go for a tank system If you really want to give it a try. Many users around here have trouble with them but they do hold more juice. You are in luck as Liberty Flights actually has a variety of colors in stock right now with their e-Go starter kits. They are unbeatable when it comes to starter kit price. You can always find backup batteries, extras, in other colors too. You may want to consider buying a Low Resistance Atomizer as well. They produce a warmer vapor and many agree are more satisfying.

Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Joye eGo

Defiantly try many samples of juice to figure out which is for you. At first I would suggest 3-5, 6ml bottles. Once you know you like vaping then buy more. I suggest VaporGod.com simply for the fact they have a very reasonably priced sample pack of 5 , 5 ml juices. Also they are close to NYC somewhat being in PA. Ordering from them it typically arrives in 2 days after it's shipped.

Drip tips are awesome and yes you should get them. Good Prohets has those swirly drip tips for a reasonable price. Crystal Clear Vaping also have cheap drip tips and they ship fast. If you end up liking cartomizers they also have them in bulk at an unbeatable deal. Dripping will be an excellent way to try out a flavor before you commit to putting it in a cartomizer. Simply drip 2-3 drops onto the atomizer, connect a drip tip and you are good to go.

I know you don't want an electronic cigg that you have to press a button with. The bad part is the e-Go and most other copies of them when buying a manual(which you should go with), you will have to press a button. It becomes second nature fast though. The issue with automatic batteries is they are very easy to break if you drip. You did say you wanted to use a drip tip and I would not recommend that with an automatic. A lot of other people will also advise to go with a manual so hopefully that is something you are okay with compromising on.

I only smoked 8-10 years, but quit within 2 days using an e-Go. Its a great unit, it feels convincingly similar yet more refreshing in my opinion compared to smoking. Oh ya... Welcome to ECF! Love your avatar, and you can relax now! This community is really awesome to help lead you in the right direction.

Yep, get a manual. It might sound like a PITA now, but holding down the button just becomes habit and you won't even think about/notice it.

I'd also stay away from the pretty plastic drip tips. I've tried them from a few different suppliers and they always end up breaking within a day or two. I know part of this is because I keep my e-cigs in my pocket, but it's not acceptable IMO. I'd go with the anodized tips which are available in a bunch of different colors (see link). There are also sites that sell 10 of them for $15 or so, I just can't remember them right now. I only use that style drip tip on my cartos. I also use certain colors for certain flavors and it makes grabbing the carto you want easy.

Thanks for your input Blacklung - can you or someone else explain this "or other VV device...
cisco 306
boge cartos
carto tank
AVE or KBV juice"

a little bit further?

madjack - Thanks so much for your input, I hadn't heard of most of those, and will definitely look into it. I thought the KR808s were kinda something to stay away from, but I did realize they had more color options.

Thanks to jewla and jdubious as well - so if I were to go with the Ego, which is the best website for that? Preferably where I can get the mega cartos also....I understand about the nic juice and needing a high nic level, but will I need to buy the PG stuff separately? Or does that come mixed with the nic juice?

Can't believe how much help I'm getting tonight! I might FINALLY be able to place an order!

Manual is the way to go. Yes you have to push a button, but the auto batteries will cut you off mid drag while the manuals you just hold down the button and puff away, plus if you ever intend to drip(great way to test new flavors) then you will need that manual as you can mess up an auto battery if anything ever leaks into it (and yes, there are leaks sometimes!). I started with a Joye 510, great product, but if you want better battery life definitely go with the ego.

As for ego vs ego-t, that seems to be a big debate. Some people hate tanks, some people love them. I love them. Same love/hate issue goes with cartomizers, but it seems that many love them. I think it's the ego-t type b that has the larger tanks, so I would personally try that one.

I do believe you can get the ego-t and still use cartomizers on it, at least that's the way it works with most of the other 510 threaded devices. Someone will surely correct me if I am wrong on this.
So I'd say get the ego-t and a pack of cartomizers and try both versions to see what works best for you.

You'll probably want a pg/vg mix, I like a 70 to 80% PG with 20 to 30% VG. VG is usually a lot thicker and makes it harder for the juice to wick properly. And try more flavors than just the nuport, there are tons of flavor options, try several different vendors as well. While one person may love and highly recommend something, it may not be what works for you.
And with the amount you smoke I would recommend starting out at 24mg nicotine.

And the colors! there are so many, different vendors offer different colors, plus you can do a little DIY decorating with stickers and whatnot, I've seen plenty of that here :)
If you are using atomizers (like atty's and cartridges, or just to drip) be warned that the paint on those seems to flake of fairly quickly, then you end up with stainless steal attys.

And check the forum suppliers (link at top of page), those are the vendors that many of us shop with and they are usually a safe bet on good service and good products.

Good luck to you and Welcome to ECF!
