I'm basically ready to give up this ecig experiment.

To make things easier get five (5) of these dual coil cartomizers:

dual coil cartomizer

Or the Boge's to go with your kit.

: )

That kit is looking pretty sweet. Very enticing; I'm leaning that way at the moment. Just going to do some more reading first but it is looking like the best combo of what I'm after. Thanks!

Ditto the KGO from darkcityvapor. I got mine from Hoosier Ecig, but his doesn't come with the great smok Tech cartos, which make the kit at DCV better.

I'm in the Chicago suburbs. If you're within driving distance of me, I would be glad to lend you one of my KGOs to test it out.

Also, I concur with what others have said about continuing smoking while you're adjusting to new gear. That's what I did, and within 3 days of vaping on some better gear than what I got at the mall, I no longer had the desire to buy any more stinkies. It amazed me.

vaping really can satisfy enough to conquer any cravings, if you have the right equipment.

BTW, I was a 40 year, 1 1/2 pack a day smoker.

Just try to stay away from the regular 510 cartridiges. IMHO they suk. Cartomizers or tanks are the way to go. You'll have much less trouble with either one and you'll spend more time vaping and enjoying your purchase and less time screwin around with leaks and messes and low vapor production, etc...

Good luck man. I hope you find your sweet spot.

Realize the dc's are very hard on battery life. I use them ( Mega DC 1.5 SmokTech) but I have 18650 2400 mah batts.

Once I received my Riva 510 with 10 cartridges and 2 attys. These cartridges really suck!!!! They just dont work and after a few drags it starts to give you that burned taste and smell.

I just solved the issue using 510 Boge Cartos. They are easier to fill/refill and they last for a reasonable time.

More recently I got a clearomizer (1.2ml) and I loved it... Theres a learning curve to use a clearomizer (other than that you will end with juice in your mouth) but the flavor and vapor are very very good with them.

Its about the same with the cartos but they will require more refills.

just posted this here and it didnt show...

I posted this a bit earlier in a different thread and its what I still recommend to my coworkers. The only fiddling you may have to do is make the hole in the prepunched cartomizers bigger with a nail and hammer/leatherman/paperweight etc.

This is what I recommend to my co-workers who are interested in what I'm using. Everything consolidated (figuring about 5 cartos and about 60mls of juice) comes out to about $150 and will last you at least a month if you vape a LOT.

The Vaporizer - $34.99 (its a VV box mod, I know you"re beginning but youll want this sooner or later...trust me)
Variable Voltage Box Mod

Batteries - (You need 2 for the mod so Id recommend at least 4.) $7

/prod_216.html

Battery Charger
Pila Battery charger (I recommend this) $50
http://www.oveready.com/batteries-ch...arger-cc/cv-/p
rod_44.html

This can also work but you have to remove batteries as soon as they are
charged. $18

rod_43.html

The Cartomizer and tank $11.99
Dual Coil 510 Tank Cartomizer

Replacement cartomizers (last about 1-2 weeks)(either 1.5 ohm or 2ohm either
one works) $2.29 each

The Liquid

Bobas Bounty and Gorilla juice are good
VG Liquids

Mrs T's Eliquid. Snickerdoodle is great.

...first thing I would ask is...what amount of learning curve/cost is your health worth to you...the second thing is to get REAL equipment...why do you think the vets here push bigger batts and LR cartos to folks that want a ciggy sized unit...to wit, I would tell you to goto a vendor like hoosierecigsupply.com and get a Kgo kit and LR cartomizers and start anew on your quest for better health...imjusayin...........

This has all been said before but hearing it more than once might add credibility. I would strongly recommend either a kgo or ego kit and either LR boge or smoktech dual coil cartomizers for now. If you have the money and don't mind the size of your batt than dearme's suggestion of a good quality mod like the silver bullet would also be a good option.

Quality of vape goes up but. I'd recommend the SmokTech single coil 1.7 also known as Resurrector. I bought some from CCV bought am waiting for Dark City to get new order in as they're much cheaper. Close to DC but easier on the batts.

Edit: When I first began vaping Boges were my favorite but now strictly using SmokTech cartos- Resurrectiors are rebranded SmokTechs so it's just a matter of finding who has the best deal/ price.

Yes, I saw that sorry. They are hard on battery life but is there an upside as well? Just curious.

My 3 weeks of using an ecig has been like a roller coaster ride but now I seem to be permanently at the bottom of the hill. I bought two Joye 510 starter kits that each come with 2 batteries, 2 standard resistance atomizers, charger, 5 carts.

At first I had no idea what I was doing and the first couple days were very frustrating. Then my flavored juice arrived from clouds of vapor and vixen vapor. By then I had watched some videos and at least knew how to take a decent drag. Things started looking up with the yummy flavors to use. It didn't take long though for the atty to give off a nasty taste, but I had four of them so I switched out atties. It helped and the great flavor experience lasted for several days but that's it.

Now I've been cleaning the atties but it doesn't really help. I've done the alcohol soak method followed up with a water flush using a child medicine dispenser method I saw on youTube. I can tell it cleans them because I can see the alcohol change color but it doesn't really do anything flavor/satisfaction wise. I've tried poly-fill, tea bag fill, and direct dripping with at most a very temporary, very slight improvement.

So in less than 3 weeks I have 4 atties that give hard/tight draws and produce no real flavor (at least they don't give a burnt taste I guess). It is weird. If I blow through the atty from the cart end I get basically no resistance but if I try to suck in it is like drinking molasses through a straw.

The batteries are a whole different story. They suck too. I somewhat expected that. I did get the small battery, but I'm talking about them lasting for two 10 minute sessions tops. So I'm looking at dropping more money to get something that lasts a reasonable period of time, but from what I'm seeing with the atties and flavors it seems like getting an enjoyable, flavorful, easy drag is just something that won't be happening.

As I read through the forums it looks like my experience is not unique. It looks like these things are a constant PITA for everyone. Since I switched to possibly save money and get something approaching the same nicotine enjoyment I get from a cig it seems my experiment has been a failure. 3 days ago I broke down and bought a pack of cigs and I'm lighting up the last one right now as I contemplate whether it is worth it to invest more money in ecig equipment that seems to be destined for failure. It seems it be just near constant fiddling with next to no satisfaction.

Please rethink this, I started out with the regular Joye 510/atttys with cartridges and was sick of the issues!! I got a little cheapy but sturdy mod called the Roughstack kit from Madvapes, and some GOOD atties and cartos, it changed the game for me!! The batteries are MUCH cheaper to replace and and only changed it out once a day. I still have the Joye batts, all 10 of them, yep it took that many for me to be away from home, POOEY on that!. I would even suggest KGO kit from Hoosier Supply, great price and awesome batteries.

Hi Austerity, don't give up, you just need to find the right PV. I spent 200 on my first set up, then broke even after 2 weeks, then decided to upgrade, spent another 300 on all kinds of stuff to try out, i am still working my way through it all, but have found what works best for me. I havent had to buy anything more for 2 months and just bought a 50 inch 3d tv with the money i have saved from not buying cigarettes anymore. Yes i will have to get more cartos and juice in the future but i have worked it out to be around 80 per month as apposed to 400.

OK guys, I'm going with the kGo kit from Dark City. I'll give it another try.

BTW. My backstory, so to speak, is that I avoided the mall kiosk scam, not fell for it. The salesman was clearly trying to fast talk me. Then I looked for a good site with info and found this one, but I didn't go much further than the info pages. The info pages left me with the distinct impression that the main difference was just battery life. I re-read them today to see if I had just been blind, and I don't really think so. It does mention, in passing, that heavy smokers might prefer bigger batteries because of more vapor but it doesn't make a big deal out it. I went with the joye 510 because I was left with the impression that it wasn't that big of a deal and the 510 can be upgraded by just buying a bigger battery, so why worry? So I looked around on the forums a little to find a good and cheap supplier and found liberty-flights (they were awesome quick btw).

Anyway, here is hoping the higher voltage and lower resistance makes a world of difference. I also think the cartos will help because it will at least remove that psychological block that I have a part (the atomizer) that is supposed to last at least a month but produces no flavor after 2 days.

Cautious but hopeful! Thanks for all the help!
