Back to the beer topic, the only time I buy beer that isn't made in Wisconsin, is when I buy Irish beer. There is no need to buy anything that is made outside of this state, they have something for every taste, and much of it is as good as anything you'll find any where in the world.

OK, upon further digression (and advice from Legal Counsel <Judge Judy>) I hereby 'revoke-retract-and otherwise suspend' the TROLLOP thingy (I still think it is a Cool word though). and krynna: YES, BEER FEST. Tickets will go on sale in MAY for the August event, so you gotta watch for them. They disappear in a heartbeat. oh, it's a beautiful thing. thomas is so right, there is NO reason to buy beer outside wisconsin, and at beer fest, there's no reason to BUY beer at all!

One of my very favorite Wisconsin things is fresh cheese curd. If you haven't tried it,,, it's to die for!! They usually sell the best stuff right at the counter in gas stations,,, convenient, too. You know you got the good stuff if it squeeks a little in your mouth,,, mmmmmmm.

One thing the rest have neglected to tell you about, and it's totally free no matter where you go in this state from May till October, is the wonderful Wisconsin Dairy Air! Just keep your windows rolled down during any road trip and you'll have the true Wisconsin experience!

Maybe it's just me, but I'm finding it difficult to get all hot-&-bothered about CHEESE CURDS!!! Possibly it's because I am originally from Illinois (FISH-FIB, what-have-you). Now if you were referring to Malt and Barley I just might get a little more excited.

Squeaky Cheese - another transplant here who could never get into it either. But my family full of natives love it, so I keep them stocked & they stay out of my goodies.

Wow, lots of responses since I have been here last! I have been sooo busy unpacking, and fell off the vaping wagon, and smoked like 8 packs of cigarettes, the way someone would binge on food... I binged on smokes. Im back on the wagon, for now.. UGH!

As for cheese curds, I have definitely had those before! LOL My dad is actually from Manistique, MI, and when I was 13, we flew into Chicago and drove through WI to go to MI... And stopped at every friggin cheese place (IDK what they are called.. where all you can buy is dairy, and mostly just cheese) and I swear I ate my way through cheese country! LOL I have only bought 1 baggy of curds since I have been here though. And they weren't squeaky IDK where to get them in Eau Claire!! I will check out the gas station...

As for dairies, I experienced that in Iowa... the entire state smells like COW ..... Not kidding. But I grew up in the country, so it smells more like HOME. LOL

What part of Iowa? I spent 4 years in Garner, which is in the north-central part of the state. And you're right - the entire state smells like dairy-air

If you get curd that isn't squeeky, let 'em sit out on the counter and warm up a bit - it's room temps that bring out the squeek.
