Just a Rant I guess but I may feel better:

I'm mad at my country for ther first time.

My house went down in value 50%.
But my property tax went up 10%.

My wages are down 40%.

The cost of food and the things I find important is up 20%.

I cant afford to get sick. I have no $800/month affordable insurance.
If I have to go to the hospital I'll likely lose my house.

I had a back injury, went to emergency in an ambulance ($1100 for 7 minute ride) as I couldnt move.

They charged me $5000 and the diagnosis was "Illness of the back", (something wrong with my back?). I took the pain pills they gave me and staggered back to work. I neede the money to pay the mortgage.
It took me 5 years to pay off the hospital, but I did.

Ill likely never go on a vacation to relax but to work around the house.
I work 6 days a week to make ends meet and take only 4 holiday days.
I havent had a sick day off in 17 years ( I dont get paid sick leave so I work).

Now I have an e-cig that I really like. I smoked 3 packs a day when I quit after smoking for 40 years.
I quit the second I picked up the e-cig.

The FDA and powers that be want to take yet another thing away from me my e-cig. Really the only thing I have as a vice or guilty pleasure. And I can afford it!

I am mad at my country now.
I have never felt this way before.

Maybe Im just getting old and tired of politics and capitalism as the way of things?

I dunno....

How do you feel these days?

Economy will get better. It was destruction in the making over the last 8 years. Keep head up on the ecig. No matter what is said, it has to be so so so much better than smoking. I too get very jaded by big corporation, like big tobacco, and pharma that are not out for our health interest. They are out to increase shareholder wealth. Those big pockets are losing out because people have quit analogs and they are going to lie, cheat, and steal to try to get people to come back to them. Pharma needs us to smoke again so we can take anti smoking pills, or when we get an illness we can take those pills. Big tobacco wants us back, well you know why!

If this is playing in your area, go see it this weekend.

When you get entirely fed up, contact me and I will take you down to Baja to experience simplicity. I am looking into a move there.

Until then,
Hang in there!

Capitalism by its very nature requires that someone suffer for someone else to be happy. I'll have to sink my teeth in someone elses heart to heal my own. I'm with you.

I feel the same as you on all those accounts, let me add a couple more pieces to my own rant.

I have to get a degree to make more money to be able to survive but even though I haven't lived with my parents since I was 17 I am not considered independent and can't get help to pay for it. I can't go to school more than a single class a week on my work schedule which means a two year associates degree might take five or more years to complete. The only remedy is to cut my hours, which means making less money, which means less money to take care of myself as well as to pay for school. So basically if anything at all goes wrong, I'm screwed for life.

Here is my big one, because at least with school I have roommates who all stick together to help get every day things taken care of, if just barely.

My state has a DMV mandated vehicle inspection. Mine came due in March. Right now I just have to look over my shoulder for the cops because while you have to go to a regular mechanic certified to do inspections to get it done, nothing regulates the mechanics. Every year I've gotten my inspection done, I've had 700 dollars or more in repairs. And every year I've had a friend of mine who is an ex-mechanic look at what they said I needed and none of it should have failed inspection. They are all corrupt and use the inspections as an excuse to take all of your money. I can't afford that kind of repair bill, so I can't get an inspection. A ticket would be cheaper.

The entire system is broken and has been for some time, imho. Project Echelon (which was started long before Pres. Bush), Waco Massacre, Ruby Ridge, just to name a few of the more recent things. And then there's big pharma and all that it entails... Not to mention just plain old corruption in govt.

I''m old so I remember when you didn't have to lock your doors at night. You could smoke anywhere you wanted. Your doctors even smoked. You didn't have to wear a seat belt for your own good. You could fill up your gas tank for $3 or $4 dollars. Groceries cost $20 a week. Life was good!
I have watched all this change. Theft is rampant. You can't really make a living wage anymore because the more you make, the more things cost. A treadmill.
Rights being taken away right and left. The government becoming your parents, telling you what you can or cannot do or we'll put you in jail.
I felt like a criminal when I smoked tobacco. Now I feel like the same thing is going to happen with ecigarettes. And I don't like it. They have pushed me as far as I'm willing to go. I will not give ecigs up. If they like grannies in jail, so be it.

Is this the hope and change the Obama supporters wanted? I now understand what the hope and change means (I'm hopeing for change).
Good Luck - today on the news we have the president of the united states calling police department actions stupid! The government wants to ban smoking for our soldiers. While we are at it lets share the wealth, ya know, where all us hard working tax payers pool our earnings together and share them with all those who, for whatever reason, don't get up every day and work a job that they may or may not like to earn a salary that doesn't go nearly as far as it should.

Let me tell you I could go on for days!!!

Ya know, everyone talks about how Bush was such a horrible president... but I don't recall him doing a single thing that effected me personally. Maybe I'm just young and naive but it seems to me that Bush was too preoccupied blowing up the middle east to cause me a headache.. Obama on the other hand seems bound and determined to jump all over people.... I personally prefer a war halfway around the world to the things Obama is doing and trying to do.

do not forget to add the cap and trade bill...and the health care reform bill...two of the worst things that can happen to our country right now, and just other day obama advisor said Obama has done such a great job recovering from the recession, what drugs is he smoking?

Our President is the Electoral college voted, "Smiling- Rock-Star-Face," of politcal corruption of a magnatude that we havent seen since the 1800's.

Some would say that the public voted him in, so we get what we deserve. However, since our votes dont count at all, we didnt vote him in at all.

Big business and political engines voted him in for us.

How do we take back our country?
How do we reverse the landslide of deceit and corruption that lies ahead, now that the gov't can print up trillions of dollars for our masters in big business without any controls or accountablility what-so-ever ?

Im ashamed that I can do so little.

It's about time. You have some serious catching up to do. By design, the United States Government is supposed to fear its citizens. That table turned a long time ago. I feel it's getting close.

One more thing to ponder. Measuring the value of things by the dollar (or any fiat currency for that matter) is akin to using a rubber band as a tape measure.
