I smoked for over 30 years and way over 2 packs a day. My family always wanted me to quit. I havn't had a cigarette in almost 4 weeks thanks to e cigs which to me is a miracle. You think this would make my sister's happy...no...now it's when are gonna stop using that e cig. They think it's the act of smoking is just as bad. Instead of being happy for me this the crap I have to hear. I just want to tell where to stick it. I know if I quit vaping I'll go back to regular cigarettes. I'm so mad!!!!

Congrats to you! thats a huge accomplishment!! Don't let them get to you! Remember that you made this change for YOU & for no one else! Be proud of yourself! We're all proud of you! I hear the same thing & ill probably never quit! I enjoy it too much! If they don't like it then they'll just have to get over it!

I hate to say it like that but some people...and especially non-smokers in my opinion always have something to say. You would think family would be more supportive but that's not always the case. But that doesn't mean that they can minimize the outstanding accomplishment you've made by switching! vape on!!

All up in your grill..
I smoked 2 packs a day for 10 years before I switched to vaping in early 2009. There will always be haters. I'm not going to let them bring me down. Science is on our side this time and the haters are just ...... because they don't have a legitimate excuse to stick us all in the corner. Congrats on almost making it to the end of your first month. I'd say you got it licked. :)

Congrats on your accomplishment donna and if you need any and all affirmation - just come here to the folks at ECF. I think we all have encountered the "uninformed" but it makes it so much more difficult when it is your own family.

My daughter and her boyfriend (who live next door to me) both vape. I am the only "vaper" in my household. My husband still smokes like a freight train (literally) and my brother who is older and has cancer still smokes also. They constantly find "humor" in my new found lifestyle and especially like to make jokes about it to each other. I pay no mind.

I don't hack up a lung each morning upon waking. I can smell and taste food more so than I have been able to for over 40 years. I don't get winded doing everyday things. So they can have their jokes and comments - I have my life back.
