she has been using the provari regurally now and she is down to 2-4 rolled non fsc cigarettes per day. she was smoking a pack a day until fairly recently. she loves the provari, as do i. i get the chance to play with the provari at night after she goes to be, that thing kicks some serous ..... i still use the e-power when i go to work but i like the provari better, if only they werent so expensive. oh, and myself i share 1 or 2 cigarettes with my wife per day, usually only 1. so if im sharing a cigarette with her that means im only smoking about 1/2 of a cigarette per day. i think we are doing much better now.

i am especailly happy with her. she is smoking a fraction of what she was smoking and i'm quite proud of her. i just hope she doesnt replase. i love my wife very, very much and i cannot imagine her life being cut short by something as stupid as cigarettes. we are all going to die at some point in time, however i can easily think of better ways to die then piosioning by cigarettes. i want her to live a long healthy as possible life.

the only thing getting on my nerves right now is the situation at work. if its raining the only place outside for me is in that nasty "smoke hole". its really gross in the smoke hut and i have to put up with all of the second hand smoke which i hate. sometimes i have actually sat outside in the rain just to get rid of having to put up with all of the sick smokers as they inhale their toxins. listening to them cough and gag is a good reminder why i vape. i dont want to be like them. i just wish there was another place to go. that smoke hut smells like the inside of a smokers lungs, not too apealing.

Congrats to you both for cutting down. Hopefully you two will be cig free sooner or later. If the Provari is to expensive to get another one. Then maybe getting a Buzz Pro will suit you. It has a very large fan base on the ECF and is supposed to be just as good.

You might have to find another location that's close by for you to be able to vape in peace. Even second hand smoke has detrimental effects on ones health.

the problem with the smoking situation at work is either you sit outside or you sit in the "smoke hole". if its not raining my .... is outside but if its raining im stuck. i try to avoid that nasty thing at all costs. i know that second hand smoke is bad and that thing reeks but it dont have a whole lot of choices. i have never bothered to ask the front office if i could vape indoors, they are a bunch of jerks(pretty sure they would say now). i really hate my job but for now its a job. i guess acording to them if i consume nicotine i deserve to die like the rest of the smokers.

also as much as i love the provari the epower fits in my pocket a little better, and im less worried about damaging it. the epower isnt a horrible unit i just doesnt have as much kick as the provari. maybe i will look into a buzz pro.

That sucks and yeah, any job is good right now in this economy. Your right though, you have to do what you have to do at this point to keep vaping. Even if it means standing in that nasty smoker's spot right now. Those people in the front office definitely sound like some punks if they think that. But, every job has it's rules and it's not a good idea to break them unless they give you the ok.

What about discrete bathroom breaks (if the bathroom is clean and not gross like the smokers hut) maybe when u need a quick nic hit just slip in there for a couple of puffs... Saves u having to join the smelly smokers on a wet/cold day

Last cigarette 16th October, 2011. Forever grateful for the support and advice from ECF.

Congrats Ad365! Glad to hear the wifey is catching on too and enjoying it.

Just a thought about the whole when it's raining and the doomed smoking shack, not sure if somebody mentioned it but would vaping in your car be a choice? That might solve the issue for ya.

Oooh! The bathroom is a good idea too!

Regarding work, one word: umbrella. Get away from it all.

I'm not quite sure where both of you are at in your transition. It sounds like you, more than your wife, has gone through "the change" - the more you vape the more you find smoking to be kinda revolting. I took three months of "playing" with my pv and continuing to smoke. But in that time early on I rapidly dropped my daily cigarette count from 1.5 PAD to only four a day in the first four days. The rest of those three months was 3 butts on a really bad day, some times none at all. But the further I went along the less and less I enjoyed smoking. I finally smoked the last .... in the house, just to be done with it.

This unfortunately doesn't happen with all vapers. Is your wife giving you any signals that she likes smoking less?

Ultimately it all comes down to motivations. If you don't have a reason to want to quit, you may not. I had a reason, and was fortunate enough that as I vaped along I liked smoking less and less. Now it's so bad that the smell of cigarette smoke makes me nauseous. After a 30 year smoking habit I never thought I would see that happen.

Best of luck to both of you.
