Gee, I would have never considered myself to have expensive taste, but I guess maybe thats the case? The two juices I just bought at my local vape shop today were $15 for 10ml! Ahhh!

In reality, besides just vaping, I like a lot of things that are cheap. I shop at the dollar store all the time. I don't think its fair to say that MBV is a lesser quality because they are cheap... I just honestly think they don't make good tasting mixtures sometimes. For example, when I think back to Ms T: her flavors were sooo good, always good, but her customer service was a nightmare. why? because she was the only person ever working there. from what I heard, she never allowed others to work for her because she wanted her recipes to herself. On the other hand, MBV has immediate creation and shipping with every order, which would look to me like they had a large amount of workers. so this would clearly mean that all the bottles are made by someone different, therefore come out different. what you are seeing in one person's review of a flavor may not be what you get.

Blah!

So, in regards to all these suggestions about DIY, how would I start? Where do you buy the supplies? Isn't it just as risky as buying juice (you know, like one site may have good flavorings and another may suck)? So many questions !

mt baker uses flavor west and can be cheap
any vendor that uses better flavorings and extracts will cost more

no that does not mean a more expensive vendor will be better because of the price
but better juice will cost more

Sorry, I came off a bit snobbish. I was just trying to express my distaste for MBV. they're definitely a great and reliable company, I just don't care for their juice. I agree with VJC, better juice will cost more. Not all expensive juice will be worth it, though. I just haven't found anything that's dirt cheap that blew me away. Then again, I haven't tried everything out there. Sorry for the rant. I was too nic'd up. :vapor:

I buy primarily from Mount Baker Vapor, I haven't had a bad experience with them. I will say, however, that their grape flavor is meh. Not a huge fan of it, it left my mouth drier than anything else, and I always let juices steep for at least two weeks before I try them. I recently just order some Mango, Arnold Palmer, and created my own Mango Iced Tea on their site. Should be here on Monday.

It's a shame you've gone through bad patches with juices, the affordability is what makes it so great in my opinion.

I need to try mixing some of my juices together. Do you mix them in a separate bottle or do you just add a few drops of one into a tank filled with another? I was thinking of a fruit bowl with all my single fruit juices.

I add a few drops into another tank, but I try not to vary the flavor mixtures. If I start with a fruit flavor, I'll keep adding only fruit flavors.

if you don't like mbv you might not enjoy DIY...
all my flavors taste just like theirs.

as far as the argument of who is good or not...
you taste buds for ejuice seem to develope over time.

for instance i once really enjoyed MBV, until i tried another brand, when i went back to MBV i couldn't bare the taste any more.
mbv isn't complex enough for me anymore. but there was a time it was just right.

yet there are some juices that seem tooo complex for me right now. suicide bunny and halo come to mind for me. there's jusst too much going on in the bottle i guess.

Yeah I've tried me complex blends and they aren't for me right now. I'm sure my tastes will change but for now I'm happy. Although when I move on I won't have anything bad to say about the vendors I've been through. They all have had great customer service and served me well at the time. It's not their fault my tastes changed or my pallet didnt agree with their products.

same here - pretty much fed up with online sites being hyped here and other forums by those who are either paid to do so, are company employees, or have seriously jacked taste buds.

i have had the most rated juices here and all but a few are just horrid. Bobba's is just ok enough for me to vape it. not sure where the hype comes from, it isnt that good. its got about 1/2 the flavor it needs for me to ever call it good.
PG Bees Knees is ok, but the first small bottle i got had way more honey flavor than the large bottle i got after it... plus it makes my house and my cloths smell like pee after i vape it.. yup its one of those liquids.

Alice in vapeland.. jeez.. every single juice i got in their sampler tasted the same, and i mean that, literally identical with the exception of a slight variance in flavor.
what ever sweetener or base fluid they use is just crazy. way too cakey tasting and floral.

altcig's churro ? pfpfpf seriously it was like i was vaping unsweatened bread dough. z e r o cinnamonm uhh churros have cinnamon and sugar on them.... same with their cinnamon danish.. by definition it is supposed to have cinnamon in it.. nope not mine not even the slightest hint. their Bob's Kutter was like the first few drags you take from a week old cigarette .... in an ash tray. nasty fake tobacco taste.
Xen is just a crazy harsh menthol mixed with cutter so you get a nasty throat burning menthol with nasty ask tray tobacco...
Their vanilla love is gross, tastes like Wake-N-Vape which is one of the nastiest gourmet juices i have ever had. yuck..
but their customer service was the best i ever experienced for vape companies. - Sunny kicks ....!

the only locate vape place we have here in cedar rapids, ia is a little cart in one of the mallsm oddly enough the mall that nearly closed 5 years ago and is barely open today and they sell that god awful volcano ecig crap. oh my god their juices are just acid and throat killers. some of the lowest flavored juice i have ever bought. blueberry what? turpentine?

the only juice i consistently vape is halo's Torque56 and Coolmist. but that stuff is $20 + shipping for a 30ml bottle and thats too much.
so yeah i realize good stuff is expensive but i have yet to find an expensive place outside of halo to even try.
so i am stuck buying online and wasting $40-50 like i did at altcig on crap i cant even vape. i am sitting here with multiple large bottles of Churro, Vanilla Love, Bob's Kutter, Cinnamon Danish and others that i cant even use because they are yucky or just downright like vaping plastic or perfume soap.

What I ended up doing is ordering a bottle of this http://www.azurevaping.com/unflavored-diy-base-liquid.html,then I bought sample bottles of flavoring then mixed small doses until you find something you like. The base can be vaped alone you just wont get any flavor.lol Certainly makes things cheaper imo when trying out new flavors and even when making your regular ejuice.

I bounced around a lot of different vendors and spent a lot of money..finally I have narrowed it down to a handful of vendors and flavors..Giant vapes has a lot of top shelf vendors like Neckbeards I like all their flavors especially the Nectar and custard..also Space Jams Astro is very nice fruity vape.
Zeus juice for fruity vapes is a winner, and love Nicotickets custards along with the Virus nice vapes..lastly Bryce's Custards are also well loved here on the forum ...So no need to stray and waste money like 9 months ago ...good luck hope you find what your looking for ...do some checking around her on the forum ..

I've had really good luck with Good Life Vapor. Thier fruity flavors are delicious! I prefer kind of a sour note to my fruits and thier Shockwave is to die for! (Just a sour blue raspberry) Thier Corrosion is also killer! (Lime, orange, and coconut with a hint is sour)

While I like Alice in Armand juices, they are not my favorite and I probably wont order anything more than thier samplers because all the ones I've tried, 7 so far, they all have what tastes like to me a yogurt flavor base. As an example, Twas Brillig tastes like Blackberry yogurt to me. While not bad (I actually enjoyed it for a minute) all the other flavors had that same yogurt flavor to it.

I've loved AVE as well! Every flavor (4 so far) I've had from them has been amazing! Gorilla Juice being one of my ADVs.

Don't get disheartened about buying online. Im a firm believer of samplers, and if you write in the comments section of your order to try a sample of something, I'm sure they'll be happy to oblige. I've done it a few times! As far as B&Ms go we only have one in my town and thier (air quote) house mixed (air quote) juices are TERRIBLE!!! Thier one flavor mixes that I swear are rebottled cheap Chinese juice! OMG they are awful!! So ill never make the mistake of buying any of thier crap again!

Don't give up!

So, its come to this. I have been getting nothing but disappointment buying juices online ever since I've been vaping. First I started with Ms T's Bakery, who's flavors were actually really great. But alas, her customer service went to @#$% and the last order I bought from her site took 2 months to arrive. So I said never again. I decided to transfer to Mt Baker Vapor since I had heard so many great things about them. I've placed about 4 orders with them, trying about 8 different juices so far. I can honestly say I wasn't in love with any of them, but they were still vapable. However, my latest order with them as been an absolute horror. Both the juices I ordered taste exactly like dishwashing soap... even with two weeks steep time. I might have been a little tired, but I could have sworn I didn't accidentally place an order for the 'Dishwashing Soap' flavor.

Anyway, I wish I could receive my money back but unfortunately that's probably not going to happen. Its really unfair how sites can make a huge profit off of sending people things that are absolutely awful. So this is the part where I give up, give up on giving these well reviewed sites a chance, and taking leaps of faith with my hard earned money. From now on a real vapor bar with tasting opportunities is the only purchase I will ever make.

On the bright side, I did go to a local shop a few days ago and got the most incredible custard flavor. I am in love. Well, except not with the fact that it cost 3 times more than online e-juice, but oh well. At least I know I love what I'm buying, which ultimately makes it worth every penny. :2c:

So you started off getting juice from a manufacturer who makes their product out of a back room in her house, has a well documented history of poor customer service, is known for just disappearing and may well be mentally unstable. Despite all those warning signs many people loved her product, good for them. You then went to "the Wal-Mart of vaping" as I like to call Mt. Baker. They have a mediocre product for a wonderful price but they aren't what I would call consistent or quality. I started off with Mt. B but quickly found better alternatives although I'll still order the odd piece of equipment from them because their shipping is lightning fast.

On the boards here you can get an idea of what other people like but as is frequently mentioned: taste is subjective. Just because you had a couple bad experiences there is no reason to stamp your feet like a petulant child then declare every website "unfair" and a scam. Caveat emptor, not that I expect you to know what that means. However there are many good online vendors around.

It just gets a little old seeing a new thread every day or two proclaiming all online vendors to be scams just because the person didn't like a product. Hey OP, you live in the vaping epicenter of the U.S. Your area is inundated with vape shops so go have fun trying stuff out but just be sure to remember that you are going to pay more buying from a B&M (especially on house made juice). Thank you for giving up on all online ejuice vendors because it leaves a little more stock for the rest of us.

I can relate to OP's experience. I started with two e-liquid vendors (based on recommendations from some on-line acquaintances) then every week I started trying to buy a sampling of e-liquid from a different vendor, going back to buy larger quantities of the stuff I really liked.

There's been very few e-liquids that I really disliked, most were vapeable, but very, very few were what I'd call stellar.

Then I signed up with Zamplebox - mostly because I was tired of hunting for new vendors to try.

After seven months of vaping, I've found maybe ten or twelve e-liquids that I'd buy over and over again. Everyone's different, but stick with it, you'll find something that "does it" for you.

So, its come to this. I have been getting nothing but disappointment buying juices online ever since I've been vaping.

Ignore the recommendations - all of them - bar none. Start with the least expensive vendors - the ridiculous prices charged by the so-called "best" in no way guarantee you will "love it". Recommendations are virtually worthless since you will be the final determining factor in what is good or 'the best'. Wasting money following the hype and claims of the masses will drain your wallet and disappointment will abound. It is all marketing and the ever popular vendors simply use 'customers' to further their financial gain. There are a multitude of 'names' from basic to impressive; paying a fortune will ot guarantee a taste you can stomach. Don't be sucked in by hype - this is a 'selling game' and without exception vendors will say anything to make people believe $32.00 a bottle guarantees a better product than the less expensive competition.

I think the appeal of boba's is that the flavor is big and yet understated at the same time. This way people can vape it all day. There's a certain mystery to it.

I'm surprised you don't like AIV. I think a few of their flavors are similar but I really dig some of them. I'm a big fan of Torque 56 also. Are you more into tobaccos or fruits? If you like the fruit and are looking for a solid company to blow some cash on, Space Jam have a lot of great stuff, IMO. Andromeda, Astro, Pluto, Starship 1. I would also recommend The Mad Alchemist, I really enjoy their stuff as well. custard matter, fairy dust elixir, snow white's demise, ZEN.

Both slightly expensive but I think they're worth it.
