Hi I'm new to vaping and I just got a smpl mech mod with a mini velocity rda. And I have a IMR 18650 2600 mah 3.7 volt battery. I'm running a double .5 ohm coil build (not sure if that's the correct term lol) and I was just wondering if that is safe. The seller said it was safe but I've been looking at sub ohm charts and it says it's really dangerous. I'm very confused and would like some help. Thanks

You need to be more specific about the battery, what brand is it?. That will say weather or not what you are using is safe.

Also is that .5ohms both coil or .5ohms each coil?

The battery doesn't have a brand, and it's .5 ohms each coil.

All batteries have brands, it might not say it on the battery itself, but it should have a serial number, which will help us identify it.

.5 each coil would make it a .25ohm build. Which I would not recommend unless you have VTC4 batteries.

It does not sound like you have an ohm meter. Again I would very much advise against using a mech as a beginner. To me if you have to ask if it is safe, it is not.

so that would work out to 0.25 ohm i would not use that on a 18650 batt, 0.5 ohm total would be fine but not 0.5 each coil

Off my head a .25 ohm build would pull over 16 amps.
I wouldn't do that with a 'good' samsung. I dont like tempting the fates. Don't do this without a Lot more research..

I'm not sure what the serial number is either. sorry. I'm just very confused with ohms law and coil builds.

Please do not touch that mech mod until you have a battery that is rated as safe for use with your current setup. I would recommend you get 18650 Samsung INR18650-25R R5 2500mAh or 18650 LG 18650HG2 3000mAh

i would suggest using something like Coil wrapping
get your self a decent ohm reader, and some good batts, samsung 25r's sony vtc4's for example, also do a search here on the forums for ohms law

Sure there are actually quite the setups around these days. Some that I have had good luck with are...
1. Innokin Coolfire IV Plus
2. Wismec Reuleaux RX200
3. Joyetech Cuboid

They are all 3 regulated mods yes. If you mean do they have the ability to use Temperature control then the RX200 and Cuboid can. Unless you are building NI/SS/TI coils then there is no use for TC. You said you bought an RDA... what type of build/builds are you using (wire, gauge, wraps, etc)?

I'm not really sure what type of build it is. all I kno is its Clapton coils and .5 ohms and one set of coils on each side

So what are you going to do when those coils need to be replaced or you start having issues? Did they build and install them for you when you bought the RDA? I might recommend going with a tank with prebuilt coils until you learn how to build and understand how Ohms/wattage works. I am nervous for you with a battery with no serial number and a mech mod as your first mod. Some of the mods I linked you can be bought as a kit which includes a tank or its just as easy to pickup a tank separately.

Then take that mech mod back to the vape shop where you got it and see if they will let you exchange it for a regulated mod and a tank that uses prebuilt coils. If they wont take it back then please pick up a regulated mod + tank. Dont wanna see anything bad happen to ya
