I'm still new so if I've posted this in the wrong section please feel free to move it.

I've been doing some research about batteries and thus I've managed to freak myself out in regards to proper battery usage with mods.

I'm not using a mech. I'm using a regulated one (Kanger Subox Mini with Kanger Sub tank) which came with an Imren battery from the seller. According to what I've read it's plenty of enough for my set up but all I keep reading about is how bad the batteries are from this company because you can't use what they put on the label as 100% truth. It says 3000 mah, 3.7 V, 40 A 18650.
However, every article I've read said these values are exaggerated by the company.

I'm looking online trying to find the best and safest battery not worried about money for this but it's still a bit confusing and trying to find authentic and non-counterfeit batteries is a worry of mine.

I'm still brushing up on my ohms law since it is a sub ohm build and I know what each value means so I know something along the lines of 20 A and 3.7 V would be find as long as the amp reading is continuous seeing as from my calculations if I'm running 0.5 ohms I should only need 7 amps continuous to safely run my mod.

Any help on which batteries are considered the safest and best for sub ohm vaping would be a big help as I'm seeing IMR and IMR Hybrid and so on.

Again, I know most of the exploding issues are from mechs but I'm just trying to make sure I'm covering all my bases regardless of how paranoid I'm being.

You can't go wrong with Sony VTC series, Samsung or LG batteries.
The Subox requires batteries with AT LEAST 20 amps, so keep that in mind.
If you have a local vape shop in your city, I would buy your batteries locally. Don't put your faith or face into all online retailers. Stay safe and buy the batts locally if you can.
If not, I suggest FastTech. ONLY the Sony's, LG's and Samsungs though.
If it has 'fire' in the name, that's exactly what you'll get.
Be safe and Vape On!

Right now I would buy the LG HG2 batteries from Orbtronic. They're on sale for $5.99 each and you get a free protective storage case for every pair you buy.

So after reading up even more I went ahead and bought :

2 x LG 18650HG2 3000 mah 20 a

And

Xtar VP2 charging station.

How's that for a purchase? Read good things about those chargers and a great deal of good about the LG batteries so I feel like that is a win win right?
Those are good choices. I have both Xtar and Nitecore chargers, and that VP2 is a good one.
