Somewhere High.
After reading this a few days ago I feel your pain. I've been through several different PV's, all of which required some form a maintenance and upkeep to a certain degree. The one I have found to be the most simple, which also vapes nicely and is really reliable is the ECHO. It's $49.99 shipped from a few reliable vendors here, you get over 3 ml's of cartomizer space which should last most if not all the day, the 1300 version's battery life will last most people all day. I was really surprised that I didn't need to keep the batts charged and refilling tanks/carts on a steady basis with these units. So far my experience with the ECHO has been great. Hope this helps.

Same here Blood. I agree 100%. I ordered a kit from Mike and he brought it to my house! What service.(I met him from a friend)He turned me on to ECF. The echo requires no maintenance so far. I paid $59 with free shipping and 10 ml of dekang. VAPE 2 LIVE at VAPE 2 LIVE : Don't Smoke to Die... VAPE2LIVE !
I also picked up some juice & syringe from Mad Vapes.Welcome to MadVapes LLC
Just fill up the cartomizers & charge the batteries and your good to go!

I'm using a manual battery. I've been smoking 2-3 packs of full flavor cigs for 30+ years.

So far, I'm using the pre-filled cartomizers.

Have found contradictory instructions on re-filling the cartomizers. One said to refill 12-15 drops; yet another said to refill 25 drops! Both of these instructions came from V4L.

I don't mind the cost; it's the unreliability that bothers me.

Wow, you really are having some bad luck.
I got my V4L kit in March and all my stuff still works great.

Are you sure the batts are actually dead?
Straighten out a paper clip and put it into the center hole on the battery and pull up. This will improve the connection with the carto. Got a carto that seems dead? Do the same thing with the paper clip on the thread end of the carto. Put it under the round post on the bottom of the carto and pull up on it a few times. More often than not this will get the carto going. Instead of lighters now, I'm never with out a couple of paper clips everywhere I go.

Under a bright light and maybe use a magnifying glass examine the thread end of your batteries. Do you see any crud or debris? My batts started acting badly and when I looked at them closely they were filthy. Cleaning with a paper towel didn't help. I put the thread ends into a dixie cup with vinegar and added some baking soda and soaked them for a few minutes. Then I used a can of compressed air to blow out the rest of the gunk and dry them a bit. They worked great again after that.

You don't have to buy all your replacement stuff from V4L. Your ecig is simply an kr808D-1 and there are many other vendors who carry batts, cartos and other stuff you need. Often for less $ than V4L. I like : Kr808d-1 E-Cig | Kr808d-1 E-Cigarette & Kr808d-1 Cartomizer Supplies | Kr808d-1 E Cigarette from LiteCigUSA

As for refilling cartos, I start with a 12 drops and if nothing comes out of the bottom then I keep adding 1 or 2 drops until it does.
35 year smoker here myself, hope all the above helps. :vapor:

I haven't tried it but the Bloog MaxFusion has been getting some ink as being relatively hassle free.

I read about those recently and it seems like they're as simple a system as one can get (for now). Bloog's running a 25% off sale this weekend, so I took the bait and ordered a kit, two spare batts and some blank cartos. It'll be my first 808-based kit.

Don't get me wrong, I'm pretty stoked with the 510-T but the 180mah batts that fit my PCC just don't cut it, really... close, but "no cigarette", as it were. And the "mega" PCCs for the 280mah Joye 510 batts don't really hold enough kit for the day (to be fair, I'll probably have the same problem with the BMF PCC, but we'll see).

Everyone seems pretty impressed with the BMF cartos. It looks like they're mini versions of the Echo-e cartos, which are great when they work... My personal failure rate on those was about 80% after just a couple of days, but I've heard about BMF cartos taking 10-20 refills, so I hope that will be my experience.

The biggest thing I foresee that will keep this out of the "just like a pack and a lighter" UI metaphor is refilling cartos. I simply can't see myself recommending ordering pre-filled and tossing them when done, but filling pretty much any carto is more pain than many possible converts want to deal with. Plus, there's no visible indication of when it's about to run out. I guess much will depend on how long a pre-filled carto lasts.

I addition to simply (hopefully) getting a compact kit that carries well and lasts at least the whole day, I really need something better to recommend to friends. Since I've been vaping two friends have gotten 510-T kits (or 510 kits with some 510-T tanks and attys to check out both worlds) on my recommendation, and there is still enough of a learning curve that they may not stick with it. And more friends are interested, if I can show them that vaping doesn't have to be a PITA.

If the BMF's are easier and work well enough, while I hate to point folks to a pricier solution I'll do it if it just works and filling the cartos turns out to be a consistently easy task.

You shoulda been here 2 years ago before it got easy.We were like lab rats,LOL!!
That must be so true. I had to laugh when I read your comment because in just the 5 months I have vaped, things have changed alot. So you in sure you could tell some stores about the changes you have seen in 2 years. In closing I think we still are Lab Rats, and hopefully they will get better delivery systems that work longer with out all the maintenance.

mlinky these look very cool but what about changing flavors?

I think it works best when you have settled on an all day vape, or a selection of flavors that you don't mind if they "run into" each other. I have my all-day vape, but I like to change it up a bit, otherwise I lose my taste buds. To taste different flavors with a REO, I just add a few drops into the catch cup, and the atty soaks it right up. To change flavors altogether, it's pretty simple to keep bottles of different juices, and just change them out (easy and takes a few seconds). Still no leaks or mess when you do that.

Have only been vaping for 10 days. Was a pk a day smoker for 30 yrs & have not had a analog since. Had tried everything ot quit but this seems to be working. I got the Bloog MaxFusion Mini PCC starter kit. I first ordered the highest NIC of 36mg in the menthols (was a Salem 100 smoker). The taste was very similar but I have since scaled back to 24mg which seems to be a bit smoother. Only prob I had is the mini PCC (portable charger) did not seem to be chargin the batts. I ordered the wall charger & all is well. Wasn't the mini-pcc, my laptop just was producing enough "juice" to charge it properly. Very pleased with customer service. Hard to get anyone on the phone but if you email get a quick response. I got a 10% discount on my initial order & this weekend they are offering 25% off so I reordered cartos & got a nice saving. (I ordered those Thursday & to my surprise i got them Saturday! They ship by priority USPS but I got 1st order in 5 days. I would definitely recommend this supplier & glad I got lucky on my 1st try!

What is dial up? Sorry your having so much trouble. Its a trial and error thing. One thing I can tell you for sure is that ecigs that look like analogs suck. Get a nice mod and a drip tip and vape right.

The best thing you could get is a prokit from vaporcaststore.com You will get everything you need to be a pro. 70 Bucks and you get 2 egos 900 mah batts drip tip 2 attys plus 1 LR atty. 20 Ml of great juice. Car adaptor. If you want to be even more pro go

Get a helix from EliquidPlanet or a Silver bullet from altsmoke or get a Prodigy V3.1 from PureSmoker or get GLV2 from Greatlakes vapor or get a Empire from Empire Mods or get a ProVari or get a

And about Cartomizers. Give up.

Are you joking Dial up Internet not everyone in the world gets high speed internet a lot of the world is still on dial up

Its actually more like 15 Percent are still using dial up in America. If you are going to gloabalize it I guess you may be right but I doubt it.

55 percent of adult Americans have a high-speed Internet connection at home, up from 47 percent in early 2007 and 42 percent in early 2005.

Among those that use the 'net at home, 79 percent have a high-speed connection and 15 percent use dial up, according to a new survey by the Pew Internet & American Life Project, MarketingCharts writes.

Well I believe they are wrong maybe for America Or for Canada but their are still tons of places that don't offer high speed we didn't get High speed internet up north where I am until a few years ago so unless they are using satellite internet the only internet they can get is dial up We take high speed for granted and no one really thinks about the people that don't have access to the same services large city's have.I can remember when High speed was in all my surrounding area and we couldn't get it waiting for it made me move to an area that had it I couldn't wait any longer I moved back when it got here lol.I know their are still places where phone lines need to still be upgraded for it them to be able to have DSL Heck I still don't think in my old home town that they have cable high speed internet and are still stuck with the old dsl that just gave them high speed a few years ago.So you may be right about America but not the world and not Canada,But this is way off topic.
I merely asked if he was serious or was joking then told him what it meant.

Lot of OT posts on this one.

Speaking as a noob, it sometimes feels like asking a NASCAR mechanic about what tires to buy for your Ford Taurus. I feel your pain, Chris. That said, one can usually glean some wisdom from the learned vapers here if one can see past the technobabble and the recommendations of their favorite PV as the solution to all of you problems. I will try to be as clear as possible when giving information, and I encourage folks to smack me upside the head if I forget to use plain english.

I have found the same frustration

I was researching for over 24hrs and was unable to find simple product descriptions on most websites about what it actually is they’re selling.
Everyone wants to give it their own name and don’t bother to reference the real model name anywhere.
I even posted up on this forum but STILL couldn’t get specific answers and ended up purchasing the wrong product.

All i wanted was an e-cig that:
1. Looked like an analogue. So similar size, feel, colour, (Orange cartridge, white battery, red/orange LED) but even then it was hard to find what colour the cartomizers were or what colour the LED was.
2. Used pre-filled cartridges so i didn’t have to stuff around with messy liquid
3. Had pre-filled cartridges that you could actually purchase
4. Shipped to Australia.

However simple i thought this was, i found it to be a nightmare.

V4L was great to deal with in sales terms, but when it came to getting product information it was hell. Even people on here couldn’t tell me a model that fit my description.
I even got to the point of forgetting about shipping to Aus, i just wanted to find a product that matched my description.
Now I’m sure these products are out there, but you wouldn’t know if you came across them or not because no one will give you any detailed descriptions.

In the end, i bought a shorty starter pack from V4L but the fact that it has a BLUE LED really disappoints me. Especially considering that in pictures of this product on their website and this forum both show it to be an Orange LED.
But again, i was unable to find anywhere that this was described.

i know that if i hadn’t already tried vaping there is no way i would have bothered going through all this bulls$*t. it’s just too much stuffing around only to find that when you THINK you have found the answer, that all you have really done, is unlock more questions.

I don’t think it would be too difficult to put a description of the product you are selling, not to mention some .......N INSTRUCTIONS!
You would have though at very least they would have a product guide in their forum, but sadly no. it’s like they don’t want to make it easy for you to give them money.

I really think that this needs to be heavily improved if this culture is ever going to take off. It’s a great thing to push, but it needs to be easy to find information that is understandable.

I would also recommend the Echo but if you want an cigarette size you might try the new Volt, it is the exact same PV as the max fusion only a better price. It is getting great reviews. Here is a video review from Jan

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...smokelessimage-volt-review-chainsaw-test.html

Don't be scared off from autos by the anti-auto crowd they had their experiences back in the old days.lol The new generation autos like the Echo are awesome!
