Thanks for the recommend Midniteoyl.

For the OP:
I'm especially linking Highbrow Vapor's tobacco line as well as Backwoods Brew. I smoked menthol all my life and have recently found my taste for regular.

There's a long thread in the eliquid section on tobaccos.

Good Luck

EtherVapes (in my sig - not affiliated with them) has some really good tobaccos that I believe you will like instead of the synthetic stuff.. Tobacco without the 'floral' or 'medicine' or 'charcoal' tastes.

Hey wilbur-

To qualify my recommend, this is the first Perique I've tried so I don't know how close to authentic it is or how it rates against other Periques. I tried it when I first got it and it was strong but confused. I let it sit for a good month, popped it in Friday night and Hot Smoke and Sassafras! I sat there in a glazed-over stupor just puffing and puffing and puffing. It was wonderful.

67Tele - Highbrow Vapors bookmarked.
Perique! oh yeah!
Thanks.

I'm still a big fan of JC's tobacco flavors.

The PG line is thicker so will be more difficult to wick. May have a difficult time with that I30 mop-head wicking system.
In the Kanger you may need to remove the flavor wick.
Another note is JC's juices seem pretty hard on coils. I rebuild my Kanger coils with cotton which makes the cleaning easier. If your using the stock coils you may be replacing them more frequently.

I've never really had to steep their juices (I do it anyway), especially the samplers.
How are those tasting?

You may have gotten a bad bottle.
I've never had a problem with any of their juices until recently.
I bought a 30 ml bottle of Silverthorn and upon opening noticed it was "off". (I still had 2 other bottles to compare it to.)
The best way I can describe it is like orange juice that has gone bad---it had a "twang" both in smell and taste.
Oh and I did let it steep for 2 weeks

I emailed JC with the Lot # and my concerns. They immediately emailed me a Pre-Paid Postage label and replaced the bottle.
JC's replacement policy is essentially "no questions asked".

Krashman - just tried JC original & I like it.
I've got 3 other samples to try.
I'll try steeping the 30ml bottle of RO Tn. & see if it tastes better in a few weeks.
Really like that JC has 60 day return on this, can't lose with a policy like that.
Before I ordered, I phoned them & they really do have great customer service.
So hopefully I'll find 1 or 2 flavors that I really like.

Are you still smoking or just vaping?

The reason I ask is that this will affect how you experience flavor dramatically. I can't stress this enough.
Prolly out of denial I never believed smoking really affected my sense of taste/smell all that much.

After vaping only for about 2 weeks, I started noticing a difference even in flavors I had been vaping.
There were a few flavors I bought based on user reviews that when I tried them thought were horrible or meh at best.

On trying them at a later time I started tasting complexities that I couldn't before (Don't I sound pretentious now?) and really started "getting it".

In short, if you're not sure about a juice--no matter what flavor---don't give up on it just yet.
Steep it. Let it sit. And try again later.
You might discover that the juice was not the problem.

Have you tried adjusting the pg levels of your juice to see if that will help with the harshness and coughing? Perhaps try a lower pg juice with a higher percentage of vg. This should help with the harshness and coughing. Also, after you adjust take the vapor in your mouth first, then into your lungs. These things should help you. Then hopefully you can quit smoking for good. Please try it. It should really help.

Krashman - yes, I'm still smoking. Thanks for the tip.
I'm finding it hard to give up smokes because when vaping i can't inhale.
Inhaling the vapors really kills me - I have worse coughing fits than when I'm smoking.
This will sound counter-productive but, if you are experiencing really harsh inhales, you might try reducing the nic level and vaping a little more often to make up for the lower nic. Me personally, I have a hard time with high nic feeling harsh or sharp. A lot of others will agree. Some however have no issue with nic being harsh. I smoke 1 PAD for 22 years and I was vaping 12mg in a few days and down to 6mg in about a week or so. It was much easier to vape lower nic lvls.

Either way, good luck with it, hope you figure it out.
