I'm officially in now. Recieved my apex alpha ultramax yesterday, and I'm in heaven! I'm still getting the hang of it. The draw is really right right now...i think thats from overfilling the RES?
I haven't been vaping long so the only 2 other pvs I can compare it too are the Riva 501 and the Revolver Ion Infiniti.... While I enjoyed both of those... The Alpha is MILES ahead. My first draw on it brought huge fog....and and a horribly awful taste (forgot to blow out atty)..once I cleared the atty and tried again I've been on cloud nine since (and the cloud is huge vaping on this thing)

(forgive any typos....swype can be a pain sometimes)

All in all ....i'm in love with my Alpha!

Welcome to the Apex Alpha family. It's always great to hear a wonderful first impression. You will be very happy with the alpha for many years to come. Be sure to let us know how it works after a little more use on the review thread: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/innovapor/180672-reviews-apex-alpha-unit.html
Also be sure to leave a review on the InnoVapor UltraMax webpage as well, it would be greatly appreciated: Alpha UltraMax Base Unit with RES

Cheers and happy vaping,
Tony

An overly full res does make the draw really tight but even when it is not, it is tighter then you will be used to but I promise you once you use it for a bit, you will get used to it, especially when you realize that you have not messed with filling anything for hours. I have been using mine with cartos and I am seriously in awe of how great it is to vape something for so long without messing with refill;ing.

Very true Atavanhalen! The RES by design forces air through the poris ceramic, forcing the airflow through the ceramic drives the liquid into the atomizer, in direct proportion to the draw (airflow). So the draw is certainly stiffer, but still pretty nice IMO.

Cheers!

I've noticed that the draw is much looser when using a carto rather than an atty. I'm not sure if others have noticed the same. I think that the tighter draw performs better because it really allows the air to be forced from the RES and into the atty. After splitting my time between IKV atties and Boge & IKV cartos, I think that the atty performs much better. The only real benefit I see in using a carto is that you have the extra juice capacity.

It is tricky as every atomizer and carto has it's own character in terms of draw... really is a large spectrum. Plus dewicking can play a role in the draw as well (i really like the draw on a dewicked Joye atty, my buddy hates it). I appreciate the feedback on the Boge and IKV cartos and atty's, I can never find the time to test out all the different options, so it is great to have some real user experience posted about them.

Cheers,

SH
