I'm really trying, but I'm getting discouraged by leaking, gurgling, etc...

Greetings all!

First post here and I've been vaping for about 2 weeks now. Here in Southwest Florida, we have a TON of new vape shops that have opened in the past year. I'm not sure whos scammers, and uses sells chinese crap, or whos a good reputable one. I'm slowly finding that out.

I have an EVOD starter kit, battery, device. It seems I've gone through three disposable clearomizers, a reusable clearomizer, with the coil packs that go into the clearomizer, (kanger T3-s Coils2.2 ohm 5) and it's constantly gurgling, clogging, leaking, getting the juice in my mouth, etc. I'm about to go back to smoking!!!! It was much easier!!!!!
When I bought the 5 pack of replacement coils, the guy told me to use my fingernail to push down this TINY little wire that comes out from the bottom of the coil thing... I cant even see one! But he says thats whats causing the leaks. 12.99 down the drain.

I know I want a Vision Spinner,(a better device) but I'm going to get into these stupid problems again with the tank. (Clearomizer) I eventually want a mod, and it seems to me that dripping my just be the thing that works for me.. I ....in hate these Clearomizers. Should I just go onto an actual tank? I don't know!!!!

My question is what do I do???? How do I get this clogging and gurgling to stop? I swear I try and not get the juice into the hole, but it seems that I always do.,..or it leaks, the thing gurgles, and trying to blow it out, I hurt my cheeks. Like when you blow up a balloon and your jaw muscles ache...GOD, that ....ing HURTS!!! I cant stand it. I hate these things. AM i just buying crap? Am I ....ing it up somehow on filling it?

Thanks,

~Pirate

On a rock floating through space
take the coil head out. grab the metal shaft and rock it back and forth till it comes off. inside you should see the some wick sitting on top of the coil, and some more running through the coil.
grab a cotton ball and tear of a small piece. just about 1/2 the amount of cotton on the end of a qtip. roll that into a thin wick the size of the wicks inside the head. place it on top of the other wicks. add a drip of ejuice. push the metal top piece back in all the way. clip the ends of the cotton. Install, fill and vape away

Some clearomizers are just horrible. Some people love the Kangers, others not so much. Your best bet is to find a different clearo. Learn to wash them out, soak the atty in vodka or something to clean it, then put it all back. When they work propery they are marvelous - when they don't they aren't worth the effort imo. You shouldn't have gone through so many in just 2 weeks, so it makes me wonder what's going on!

I just tried this defined, and I think I broke the coil. It popped out, and I had no idea how it came out, or how it was placed when it was in. So I just replaced it. I had just replaced that one earlier today, because I thought the last one had a burnt taste,,,and it leaked.

My replaceable clearomizer is a SMOK EBC ..if that helps.

I'm not a big fan of clearos at all!

Here's my advice to a new vaper and I'm just a regular nobody so take it for what it's worth.

Go out and buy a carto tank with some punched cartos and use it!
It may not give you the most vapor or the best flavor out there but you bet your sweet ... it will work:)

Rebuildables and dripping is great BUT if you not ready to advance don't worry about it just be happy with what you got for now.

Use your clearos if you would like and practice making them better but in the mean time grab that old school carto tank and vape away

You need to learn how to take them apart so you can clean them!

I had a thread on the go on the same thing, tried everything I found online. Some suggested using a second seal from another coil - all that does is push the seal onto the stem, doesn't do anything for you.

The coils that come with the kanger tanks seem to be crap, they are 1.8 ohm and to be honest, I don't think they are strong enough. Have 4 tanks, one is the protank 2 and the stock coil was doing the same thing - grabbed a pack of 1.5 ohm protank coils and problem is gone.
When you look at the coil and where the seal seats, there's a thin shoulder. Make sure you clean it well on the next refill and ensure the seal is in that shoulder before assembly. You don't need to screw the coil in tight, that'll cause leaks as well.

Be sure that you are screwing in your replacement heads all the way into the base of the tank until they are snug. Also be sure that you are not missing the little o-ring that's around the base of the atomizer head. Also, be sure that you are not drawing too hard on the tank. If you are drawing too hard on it, you are essentially turning your tank into a straw. Try longer, slower, smother draws and see if that helps. Also, the Kanger heads have been pretty crappy lately and most folks agree that their quality has gone down hill in the last few months.

Another idea is trying out the top coiled designed tanks like the iClear 16 and the iClear 30. These are pretty hassle-free tanks and seem to be a little more consistent for some vapers.

Good luck!

What would be a good carto tank to start out with?

Tank, Baditude has a good blog on choosing. Personally, I have a few really cheap tanks. I figure it's the carto inside the tank that really matters, that and not leaking. I got my tanks at a local vape shop, if they even had a brand, I never saw it.

First thing is to accept that nothing is perfect. EVODs will work OK but are prone to the problems you have described. They will gurgle when the fluid drops below half. Be prepared to do a little maintenance at this point. A simple way is to get a tissue and taper one corner. Stick this all the way down the EVOD mouthpiece and dry out the inner tube. If you are caught without a tissue, simply flick the e-cig downwards several times to force the excess fluid out. Pipe cleaners may also work. Clearos all leak but I find the Aspire BDCs leak much, much less than EVODs. If you already have T3S coils, try a T3S clearo. I use these extensively, but you still need to do the maintenance. Much of the excess fluid in the tube is from condensation as you vape - note the little bubbles on the mouthpiece? You could also try packing some extra wick in the coil but this will make it harder to vape. Too much will slow down the absorption of fluid and lead to dry hits. Cartos also leak but not so much. I am not a great fan of carto tanks since they are bloody fiddly trying to refill.

In short, what you have will be OK. Dry the inner tube when you notice the bubbles on the mouthpiece (assuming you have a clear tip). Refill when the fluid drops below half. Keep you e-cig upright to avoid a mouthful of liquid.

go for cheap smoktech tanks and smoktech 1.7 ohm single coil cartos or boge. the good to bad rate in smoktech cartos in my 2 years experience is about 2-3 not so good in 10 pieces. so you get 7 very good ones in 2 packs of 5. very few problems using cartos.

i have to ask because this is very important. how do you draw when using your device? fast or slow. if you draw fast then most likely you are causing dry hits and burns in the clearos, you have to learn how to properly draw.

I've only been doing this for a week now and have had zero problems.
Using Kanger Evods and a T3s. I keep reading about all these problems but they seem to work perfect for me.
I don't even have a problem if I only put a small amount of juice in one.
Did I just stumble on the only good ones out there?

Oh I absolutely must disagree with that. While they may all leak in regards to EVOD clearos that definitely doesn't hold true for the Halo or many of the larger glass clearos. I've got clearos on both my Triton and my SVD and neither one has ever leaked a drop. Of course my Halo Triton costs twice as much as an EVOD, so I expect it to be higher quality.
