Look at this ..... trying to rip people off!

Smoke Assassin Quit Smoking Today

This guy had a radio add that said: "I want you to quit so bad, that I'll give you this starter kit for FREE!" When asked what the gimmick was, he said "all you have to do is pay for the cartridges..." Sounds pretty reasonable right? Wrong.

He's selling his 20 pack of cartridges for $70.

We need to have an ad or commercial put out that explains the CORRECT prices and steers people away from stupid gimmicks like this guy.

Other stupid money scheme places are InLife and Smokeacali, I'm sure theres more out there too.

omg I heard that on my satellite radio a few days ago and thought hmmmmm..... people are falling for that crap just like the Smoke Anywhere, Green Smoke, etc. WAY overpriced crap! I feel for the people who actually do pay for those carts which they say last an entire pack and we all know if you get 4-5 smokes worth you're lucky!

Dont forget greensmoke, among the others
The biggest issue that I have with stuff like that is the fact that they lie so much. Claiming each cartridge is like a pack, or I have even seen some claim they are xx cartridges that equal a carton. Where did they get all this info? FROM THE WEBSITE OF THE AFFILIATE PROGRAM!

The biggest issue is the places dont care what people say as long as they sell the product. And they have like 3 tiered affiliates so it looks just like a pyramid scheme.

On the plus side, at least e-cigs are getting some public exposure. If it wern't for a guy at work here getting one, I never would have heard of them.

Granted, people will get the wrong idea about the cost from these rip-off companies, but at least people will be aware of the existance of e-cigs / personall vaporizers / mini fog machines.

After I got ripped off by smoking everywhere it got me to the forum
So some good will come from it in the end but they will feel so stupid

When my husband was waiting on his kit to come in that was on backorder, we hit up the mall to check out smoking everywhere. I looked at the products and I had already been doing online research. The price was LUDICROUS and I told her as much. I told the girl that I had found the product much cheaper online and she gave me the dirtiest look and said, "from THIS company?" So I told her, "No, but the company listed on the bag you have pinned up on the corner of your kiosk sells them cheaper I know for sure and the same exact models are available from other distributors for less than a 3rd of your price."

She then stopped talking to me and turned to my husband and tried to explain to him about their craptastic warranty, live support if he needed help he could come to their kiosk and they'd help him, blah blah blah yadda yadda. So he told her he'd think about it and she goes, "THINK about it???? What's there to think about?" Oh she was so nasty. The guy that walked away from her right before us I overheard her say, "stop wasting my time," because he told her that the sample drags he took off her atty were not as fulfilling as a smoke.

So anyway, I'd totally be down for selling some kits to the public next to her kiosk at $75 a pop... I just have a feeling that Paul Blart Mall Cop would show up and escort me out lol.

I must say though that I would have never heard of e-smoking if not for the fact that my husband's shipmate (he's navy) had not been vaping in the barracks and explained what it was to my hub which in turn got my husband to have me do some research on it - the shipmate got scammed by smokingeverywhere at the same mall. So yes, some good can arise from the scammers but in the long run they're gonna ruin it for everyone with all their boisterous health claims and smoking cessation claims.

If they say in the ad "I want you to quit so bad...", then they are marketing it as a smoking cessation device, and are just ASKING for trouble from the FDA. They won't be in business very long with that strategy.

I thought it was the smoking cessation devices the FDA allowed and the drug-delivery systems the FDA don't like?

Doesn't almost every market have high end retailers?
You can shop Wal-mart (like me) or pay fancy shmancy mall prices for pretty much the same thing.
Rent, lower volume sales (when compared to wally world) and advertising dollars all have to come from somewhere.

Besides, somebody's gotta pay Mr. Sterns salary, better them than me, in the form of higher subscription prices. lol

You can't fix stupid.
I hope the FDA goes after them.

lol you are right.

The thing I worry about is these idiots scammers and opportunist ruining it for those who are doing it right. Although there are some real piece of **** companies out there they aren't all bad but will probably end up suffering as well.
