I smoked for over 20 years. Full-time, pack a day for 20 years. I tried so many times and ways. I always told myself I'd finally quit when my wife got pregnant. I did. Then she had a miscarriage, and we stopped at the store on the way home from the doctor's office to buy a pack (she quit when we found out she was pregnant). We've had 2 beautiful daughters since, 2 1/2 years old and 2 months old. I told myself I'd quit when our first was born because I never wanted her to see me smoking. How'd I get around that? I never smoked around her.

I work(ed) in college athletics. I've had to hide my habit. I'm 37 and it felt like I was 16 in high school. I lost my job and was a strong candidate for a new one. I knew that job would have zero tolerance for my smoking habit. They couldn't fire me for it, but it wouldn't be good. I also didn't want to get into the whole where do I hide, how do I cover up the smell better, etc.

During the application process, I kept seeing Steven Dorf slinging ecigs. I figured it wouldn't work, just like everything else, but I'd give it a shot. I bought a Blu disposable and an Njoy One disposable. The Njoy didn't work, but the Blu showed promise. I used it during some temp work, but I had to chain smoke 2 cigs once I got around the corner, then had another about 15 minutes later. I guess I had to play catch up.

I thought about the Blu starter kit and started looking up reviews. They were all suspect, as were every other brand's reviews. So I looked for a forum, figuring there were people out there using this stuff who'd know what they were talking about. Asked questions and did my research here. I decided on a Halo Triton starter kit.

The Triton kit arrived on a Thursday afternoon. I tried it immediately. I had one cigarette before bed that night. The next day, I had 3 cigarettes - one in the morning, one after dinner, and one before bed. I realized that day that I didn't need them. I thought to myself "let's see if I can get through tomorrow without a cigarette." Except for one day where I ran out of juice, I haven't had a single cigarette. That day was torture; my cigarettes tasted like inhaling camp fire and licking an ash tray. My last 3 cigarettes that day had me dry heaving the entire cigarettes. I kept asking myself how I even started in the first place.

I was very ...... about not getting that job; they hired someone who hasn't finished their degree yet over me. I've got 2 master's degrees and 12 years of experience. A friend who knows them well said the person who interviewed me's boss nixed his recommendation of me so they could save money on the salary. But there's a positive in all that - I quit smoking.

When young people like me, post on threads like this.. I can't help but think that the people who have been smoking longer think to themselves " that's nothing, I smoked for X amount of years". But the truth is, being 23 and almost pushing 10 years of smoking isn't something to be proud of, nor is it any kind of accomplishment at all.

When it came down to it, I got sick of the taste, the smell, the way it made me feel. I never had a satisfying smoke, where I loved the way the smoke felt going down my throat. Never enjoyed one after a meal anymore, nor did I enjoy one when I felt like I needed one in times of stress. I was going to go cold turkey because I wasn't really a big fan of the "e-cig" at first. But I did my research on it, and thought I'd give it a try. In conclusion, this alternative has definitely helped me and I feel great.

I've already started a mech collection.. and damn this stuff is expensive haha. But it keeps the analogs away.

I have read thousands of threads about how people quit smoking, and started vaping. What I want to know is.... Why.

It was an accident.

No, seriously.

I wanted to cut down on the pointless chain smoking and get back to when I started and I'd just have a cigarette when I wanted one. I suppose it was because my girlfriend had started to complain about my snoring and I was waking up coughing occasionally.

After vaping took hold, I kind of just forgot to smoke. I still cough some when I'm chain-vaping, but I think that's mostly just irritation, as I rarely go below 10W. And as long as I give my throat half an hour to recover, I run and cycle better than I have in years and enjoy it at least as much as I ever did smoking. Plus, I smell better. That's good enough for me.

I accidentally quit.

I slowly started seeing my habit escalate from 3/4 of a pack, to 1 pack to 1 1/2 pack a day habit. I had quit when I was 22 after my dad (who was a smoker) died in his late 40s of a heart attack...Then I started at 27 after someone else in my family died...So I could just slowly seeing my smoking increase over the last 5 years...I decided I just wanted to slow down the habit, and thought I would still smoke as a reward if I could just cut down those cigs during the day. I still planned to smoke in the morning with coffee, and after work...So I went to buy my ego set after some coworkers had success...The smoke right before I got to the store was the last one I had since.

My nephew, who never smoked analogs, started vaping and let me try his ego with a stardust and I never went back to smoking. The price was the main factor I had to quit. Everyone knows how bad tobacco is, so if you wanted to quit for health reasons, you would of quit years ago or never even started. I still can't believe how bad the smell was from smoking. My house, clothes, car, and breathe all smell better.

I was a smoker for 21 years, 1-2 PAD. I quit both times I was pregnant and after I had my hip replaced. The hubby still smoked so eventually I would start again. The past few years my kids have bugging us to quit. In the last year I've wanted to quit but knew I'd only be able to if the hubby did too. Three weeks ago he brought home an eGo setup and the day after he did I was at the local store getting mine. The first two weeks I smoked about a half pack. Today it's been a week since I smoked. A few days ago a friend I hadn't seen in a while tried to bum a smoke and the best thing ever was saying I don't smoke. The cough I was starting to get is gone and for the first time since moving to Oklahoma the summer humidity isn't making me feel like I can't breathe.

Ok the truth:
I have a psychic spiritual advisor who I have gone to for years, and a friend who is someone psychic.
They honestly both scared the poop outa me. Just that simple. Though I realized my body was saying it
was time long before. I was stubborn afraid and I did honestly like smoking.
So when my friend introed me to what he used......the ego c passthrough and the kanger evod the rest is history....
Ok you can shake your head about the psychic spiritual advisor part. However it tis true

#1 my health... I am 33 years young, and have already had pneumonia twice in my life ~ once hospitalized for 5 days (last year.) I developed Pleuricy thereafter, and had chronic bronchitis since. Hence enter the inhalers and once a day nebulizer treatments :(

#2 the price of analogs are outrageous, and completely a waste

#3 It's stinky :glare:
