So hello everyone I have been vaping for about two years and in this time I have went through countless cartos and batteries. Seems like every battery died on me except a two very faithful ones that are a bit over a year old, a regular ego battery and a first gen kgo vv without the actual bypass.

I recently bought a mega kgo vv just because the old one has been dropped a million times and still works like a champ yet the battery life is pretty poor now. The new purchase which is a mega kgo vv just sucks... the "1300mAh" battery doesnt even outlast my original kgo vv at 3.7 volts.. It goes into safe mode every time I try to get a vape and refused to come out of safe mode as when you click the button 5 times, so I'm kinda done with all these "noob" batteries and their crappy mother boards.

I would like to go purely mechanical and was wondering if this was a good choice that will actually last me. I have no experience with mods and I'm pretty clueless but I catch on quick! Are these even good choices and which one would you personally buy,

I prefer vaping around 3.7 to 4.5 volts and was also wondering which battery combination to use and if anyone could recommend me to a good rebuild-able atomizer. I'm just really sick of spending 100 in 3 months for a new battery and new cartos, thanks so much!

My first question is do you currently rebuild your tanks? Mechanical mods literally dump out whatever voltage is on your battery sans a kick. But as far as lasting you, mind safety as well, if you break a mech, I will have to give you an award. I personally own a Phantom V2. So I cannot speak for those mods. Definitely do your homework and learn and breathe battery safety before you Jump into this.

Is there a particular reason you are not considering regulated mods? It sounds like you've had bad luck with the little ego types, but why not a vv and/or vw mod with a replaceable battery? Or an MVP 2, which does not have a replaceable battery, but IME is very well built and usually has a low incidence of reported problems.

Hi Mr.Cho,

To me, the thing I don't like about a Mech is that the Voltage to the Coil Drops as the Battery discharges. I have a Mech, but I also have a Kick II in it, which converts the Mech to Variable Wattage (VW). Adjusting the VW isn't as easy on a Kick as with a Regulated Mod, but normally, once I get it set, it stays there for a very long time.

Like the others before me have said, you really need to understand Battery Safety before you consider a Mech, and you may find that a good to high quality Regulated Mod may suit your needs better. The Vamo is very nicely priced, gives you both VV and VW, and will let you use an 18350, an 18500, an 18650, and stacked 18350's. IMHO, stacked 18350's is the way to go in this Mod. You get better Vape time and better Regulation than with a single 18650. But some like a single 18350 or 18500 for the shorter length and lighter weight. The Vamo is a 5 Amp Device, so you will not have the Regulation issues you may have experienced with the 2.5 Amp devices you've been using, like not being able to use 1.7Ω Coils at the Voltage/Wattage you may want. Another PV to consider is the ZMax. It has all the same features, but it's a 4 Amp Device. I have a Sigelei ZMax and it works beautifully! The Smok ZMax works just as good, but the diameter is a little smaller, and the bottom cap is rounded some, so it doesn't stand on my desk as well... it tips over easy. I have one of these, too.

The Vamo has a three-button menu system, which I find very easy to navigate and make changes with. The ZMax has a one-button menu, similar to the ProVari. They are both very strong performing, well made devices, that won't break your wallet.

If you think you'd prefer trying a Mech, the decision is yours. No matter what you decide, make sure you get top quality batteries, in the Panasonic or AW brands. And do not get them from places like eBay or Amazon. I don't buy anything vape related from those places, but eBay is notorious for selling knockoff batteries that look just like quality name brands, and are sold as such, for the same price. I'd recommend that you only get Vape supplies from reputable e-cig stores.

Should you decide to try one of the Mechs you posted, you'll want to read up on as many reviews as you can find. A Mech is only as good as its Switch. A good Electrical Switch does not drop any Voltage at all at best, and very little in general, but this can be hard to find in a Mech... especially in a Clone model. I saw one Mech proudly sold as dropping less than 1 Volt, and I thought the price was way too high. I was like Geeze!!! Who are you kidding?!!! It drops 1 Volt and my 4.2V battery is now only providing 3.2V to the Coil when the battery is fully charged. It's like a dead battery before I begin, and can only get worse from there. If I knew anything about the two you posted, I'd tell you, but I don't, so do your homework before you buy.

And while you are doing some homework, please consider a Regulated Mod, like the two I mentioned.

For the RBA question, I have been using the AGA-T2 for quite a while now. They aren't high end, but they aren't high priced, either. You can get one for about $25. The AGA-T2 has a thick glass tube, so you can use any juice you want to. A lot of people like the RSST, and there's a glass tubed version out now. The RSST has an insulated wick hole, which can make getting a coil going on stainless steel mesh a lot easier. If you research them or watch PBusardo's video reviews, you can see the differences. The glasses RSST is fairly new, so I don't have one... yet. :D

Since you mentioned wanting a Mech and an RBA, I have to tell you that if you get into lower ohms, and especially sub-ohms, you'll need to have those high quality batteries. For sub-ohms, many use the SONY VTC4 18650 2000mAh 30A, or the MNKE IMR18650-A MH466098 1500mAh 30A.

I hope this helps, and Good Luck. :)
