Been lurking for a coupla days now while I anticipate my first vaping experience, hopefully in the next day or two.

While I appreciate the wisdom of everyone's experience, I am getting a little nervous. :p Y'all seem to have more passion for vaping than I ever did after thirty-some years of smoking. Although I do immensely enjoy those post-coffee hits, I never thought about sharing the sensation.

Is this going to become an obsession? Am I going to become an Advocate for The Cause? Will I dig into my kids' savings accounts and mug little old ladies to buy more product?

Give me the truth, please. I can take it.

Yes, yes, possibly, and I hope not. ;)

Lets see...

- your mouth no longer tastes like you chewed on a fire log
- you no longer smell like a campfire
- YOU CAN BREATH AGAIN
- YOU CAN SMELL AGAIN
- You aren't predicting how much of your pension you worked hard for, you are never going to see

All without the nasty withdrawn sympotoms that last forever that goes with quiting..

You can tell me the answer to your own question now :)

The money you will save in medical cost, missed work, cartons of analogs not bought...so on and so on....Will more than make it worth it. You might even get to see some Grandkids (some assuming you want to or dont already have :) ). Sure it's an obsession. I'm obsessed because it was so easy to stop the cancer stick and I feel soooo much better. I was obsessed over analogs too, there was no uniqueness to them so it was no big deal.

It's not for everyone but in comparison....I would have spent $800 in the last couple months on analogs, I've only spent maybe $400 in the past couple months and I've bought a good bit of extra stuff in preparation for hardware failures.

That's my experience.

Good luck!

It depends on your approach to new things, for example:

I got into fishing, now I own more gear than I will ever need. My wife just shakes her head.

I got into shooting, now I own more guns & gear to arm the neighborhood. My wife just shakes her head.

I got into baseball cards, now I own more that I can carry. My wife just shakes her head.

I got into vaping, well you get the idea and my wife is still shaking her head.

The list goes on and on.

If you have that type of personality, then you will end up out of control, BUT you won't be killing yourself with analogs, but you may live longer, therefore run out of $$ due to that.

Good luck and welcome aboard.

I can so relate! I absolutely can't do anything half way......it's all or nothing. I have way too much stuff and way too many different models but I don't want to get rid of anything because I might need it!

I have done the same thing all my life. For me it was martial arts, bowling, billiards, drag racing, screen printing, exercise equipment, tattoos, and miscellaneous bouts of crafting. (Oh, and shooting, that's just expected where I'm from though.)
My shrink just told me it's Adult ADD... I've had my PV for three days and am planning on making a huge order this Friday.

I'm Bipolar and if anybody knows what this is then you will understand about going manic and buying, buying, buying.

I havent spent over 6000.00 in 6 months on ecig supplies. I just can't help myself . I read on the forum and see where somebody has a sale I have to buy it. I collect zippo lighters and have over 100 of them. I ususally go over board with everything I do.

I never had an obsession toward cigarettes. In only bought l carton at at time and would even get down to almost none before buying again.

This is more like buying toys rather than actual vaping stuff.

You don't have to go overboard and have every toy out there. My wife and I stopped smoking a few months ago when we received our first e-cig. Since then we have spent only HALF the money we were spending on analog cigarettes. Half! We started with two starter kits and a few bottles of juice. Since then we order an occasional atomizer or battery, and the nic juices. Again, we have spent only HALF what we would have on regular cigarettes by this time, even with our recent order of two M401 Dragon/Phoenix kits.

Ha! i Think Paul pretty much summed it up for me.
1. I gave up fishing (semi-pro) because my wife shook her head.
2. I took up guitar, now I have more than two bands could play. She lowers her head.
3. I got into saltwater aquariums, now I have three in the house. She still shakes her head. She just walks away.
4. I stopped smoking and took up vaping, I dining room table looks like a .... lab. HA!
But, depending on how much you love it as I do, you could become obsessed with it.
I have scheduled a full physical with my doctor this Friday to see some of the results for me within the past three months. The last time I was in his office I vaped to show him what it was all about and he said keep it up if it keeps you off analogs.
I feel great, don't smell, my vehicles don't smell, my clothes don't smell and the list goes on. So, in all if this is a hobby or obsession I think it's a good one.
I think Marth1014 said it best, it's fun to buy all the new stuff. I just got my Silver Bullet just to have one, I love not having to carry around a charger and three extra batteries. They just keep making new cool stuff and I buy it.
Oh, well at least I can walk to the mailbox now without getting out of breath!

Just my pov: as with everything new, I will obsess about it for a while, trying to gather as much information as possible and try as many systems as possible.

Been like that for me whenever I get into something, my pets, my various collections, poker, whatever. There´s always a short period of time where I overdo it. Goes back to normal fairly quickly. I suppose most people are like that.

For me the biggest reason to try e-cigs is the cost factor; everything I needed for my hubby and me to try them, would cost less than a carton of smokes. I figured, if I smoked half as much for one week, we'd break even. After that, we'd be saving money (and that was *just me* not both of us.)

Since he's now vaping too, even though we're both still smoking analogs too, it's been less than a week and we've broken even already. Slightly inconvenient sharing a single kit + extra atty, so bought another kit (on sale) and some juice samplers. This will very likely cause us to vape more and smoke even less (neither of us is nuts about the marlboro flavored carts we got with the kit), but even if it doesn't, we'll still be breaking even in a few days, and saving after that...

Now, IF I had the extra money, I might try different PVs, etc. but since finances was, as I said, a primary factor, I won't; I'll just stick with my 402 that I'm very pleased with, and I will be saving a lot of money, soon! It has not cost any more than I would have spent on smokes anyway.
