I made a post earlier in the newbie section....I have an ego twist. I've done some experimenting in the last couple of days. I started on the ce4 disposables and then decided to try some glass tanks to save money and also because I don't like the idea of inhaling heated plastic. I'm disappointed in the glass tanks, one is the kanger protank 2, and the other is called mt3 or something I can't remember the exact model. But I'm getting weak vapor pRoduction and I can tell a major difference in throat hit, its so weak with the glass tanks! So last night I put the plastic ce4s back on and wow I get such a better vaping experience using those! Does anyone have an explanation? Is it due to the coil being on top on the ce4s? Is there a glass tank u can recommend that will work as good as the ce4? I'm so frustrated at this point. I really don't want to keep uSing the disposables but I will if I have to, thanks. Oh and I'm a total newbie, I don't understand about resistances of the coils or what I even have, the vape shop just suggested the glass tanks I bought and I also got replacement coils for when I need them but they didn't educate me on them or explain about different resistances and such, they just said here's what u need and I said ok. I'm new to vaping, I've been reading on here but I still don't quite understand it all.

I guess its mainly the throat hit that is lacKing with the glass tanks.....also I'm using the same juice in my experiments with the different tanks.

Glass versus plastic versus metal shouldn't affect throat hit in a tank device. It's possible the head in your PT2 is a higher resistance than your eGo can compensate for, which would result in weak vapor production and throat hit. Another possibility is you are not getting enough airflow through your PT2, which would result in the same situation.

I will mention I hate my PT2 to the point where I never use it due to airflow issues on my devices. I know you don't want to keep spending money but a Kanger Aerotank or Nautilus Aspire, at a resistance of 2.2 or lower, might be a better choice f you.

So if I order the tanks you Suggested......I can specify a resistance? When I bought the other tanks no one asked me which resistance I wanted and I didn't even know about it.

Omg I figured out why I'm getting sucky vape! Its not the tanks, its the "twist", I must have gotten a knockoff, I tried all the tanks on my little starter ego battery, the one they give u when u first start out, its smaller/shorter and not as long battery life, that one. Anyway I'm getting great hits on that little starter ego but the so called ego twist is horrible! And I noticed if I look on the bottom of it on the silver tip there is a letter Z on it and its not on the bottom of my little ego jr. I'm so mad I paid $30 for that and I don't think its an authentic ego brand.

Glass or plastic should make no difference in throat hit. Most likely it's the coil heads. The plastic tanks probably have lower resistance heads which equals a warmer vape. On an Ego battery (which is 3.7 volts), you're going to want to stay between 1.8-2.2 resistance. You can go higher, but production sort of tapers off because your battery isn't strong enough.

Another factor could just be that the CE4's vaporize the liquid closer to your mouth than the Protank. This is why some people prefer "Vivi Nova" style tanks with a top coil.

Well, the MT3S is plastic...

There is a difference in the vape from top to bottom coil. Top is generally warmer, and maybe that's what you're missing.

There are top coil models like the CE4 that you can replace the coils. Try CE5, Stardust. And unless your juice is a "tank cracker", I wouldn't be concerned about plastic.

Your battery settings may also be an issue. Try adjusting it up by twisting the dial on the bottom. It may be set at it's lowest, and that may not be enough voltage to give a good vape. One of the nice things about VV is being able to tweak it for your flavor and coil resistance.

I found the flavor on me evod isn't as good as on my protank mini. But the evod draws better I think. I'm quite torn between the two. The main advantage is the evod isn't glass and I'm sure it will crack when I start experimenting with juices more.

I drilled out the 2 holes on the miniprotank bases I have; they're now like a full 2 millimeter diameter;
only drawback is the sound of sucking air now;

the main tightness - if any - is really at the bottom of the atomizer at the point where it presses down on the center post of the battery

but the draw on miniprotanks is hardly ever tight unless there is some other issue somewhere- like the atomizer itseelf if you put too much cotton

The MT3 is a good tank for your twist battery the protank is a bit oversized for the twist unless its 1100Mah or larger rating.
the protank comes preloaded w/a 2.2 ohm coil so theres not much chance of getting it from the store w/a different value.
try shopping around for the lowest price on some 1.8 ohm coils.

oh, and dont worry about burnt plastic, its not going to happen. like what was stated in a post above the glass tanks will mute flavor to a degree also as was already stated a Protank mini may be what you want.

to help with your question about ohms. ohms is the measure of electrical resistance of the coil. 2.2 resists more electricity than a 1.8 ohm coil. the ohm lower rated coils will draw more juice from the battery (more wattage) and thus more heat and vapor.

It is a common trick to drill out a hole or two (I only drill out 1 hole) on the MT3 tanks for a better draw.

My best advise is to surf the web for coil and tank deals to save some $$$ I think you mentioned you bought a pack of replacement coils so that should last you until you get some in the mail.... nothing like getting vape mail!
Best of luck to you skittles!

I got vapemail yesterday of some Mini Protank 2's, and some Aspire BDC's, some were 1.8, and some were 2.1 or 2.2. I found the 2.1 or 2.2's work best with my Spinners or Twists. YMMV, just my .02
I got myself a couple of Aspire BDC's a couple of weeks ago and they had stock 1.8 coils.Just recently changed one out for a 2.2. Holy cow. What a difference. I'm using them on top of 1300mah Spinners.

The best BCC I've used so far up to this time are the Trophy V2 by SMOK. DiscountVapers has them for $9.99 each and they use the same coil assembly as the ProTank 2. However, the vape quality is much better, they don't leak or gurgle when they get low either.

Now I use my own rebuilt coils at 1.5-1.6 ohms 30ga. Kanthal with cotton wicks. No flavor or top wick used either.
