Wait just a minute here! He certainly didn't bother putting a build on either of mine! :glare:
Suckin up to the moderator.....shameful !

It was one of those things. If one person asks me for a little favor, I don't mind. Happy to do it. Do I want to be building coils for everyone? ______@*#!!!!____ no. :D

Totally funny tho, I think it was like the day after I shipped those atties, or that night, when I first noticed he had that designation. So, as is typical, totally ignorant me.

Herb Alpert used to hang with my stepdad at our house when I was like 5 years old. They'd play together and invented some sort of sliderule that showed how to mix chords with melody. Herb was the spokesman for the ad in Guitar Player magazine. My stepdad was an aerospace engineer but wanted to be a professional musician; hence why he invented this gizmo. That's all I really remember. I didn't know the notoriety of Herb till I was much older.

I used a jar/lid grippy to turn out the positive connection one turn. BOOM.

I'm enjoying the Nuppin'. I need to find a larger .9 allen key tool. My carpel tunnel makes teeny tiny tools a pain. Literally. :p

Thanks again Peter. I'm enjoying both the Sumpin' and Nuppin'. Glad I had the opportunity. And thanks to MamaTried for the bump in the list!

Well, there's that tool that Distortoblotto linked a few pages back. Also, you can get "just the tip" and a universal (4mm?, 1/4"?) driver handle, or handle/driver in a single unit.

I would love to see more build examples or better yet a video for the nuppins. I'm used to 22mm atties now and I just can't seem to replicate that vape on the nuppins. For reference my go to has been dual 9 wrap 26 gage nichrome 80, I think 3/32 ID. Having a hell of a time getting that to work on this new deck.

The specified size of the socket on the set screw is 0.9mm.

.9mm / 25.4mm = .0354"
Yep, I'm very happy that my two favorite atties use the same tool!

Incidentally, the cheap version of that tool can be stored alongside and underneath the juice bottle, meaning you always have it available should emergency atty maintenance be required. A piece of electrical tape keeps it in place:

What I found was that the builds I'd developed for other atties were perhaps ideal for the atties I built them for; but didn't always translate. What I would say, is "think small". For example, a dual coil setup with 7 wraps of 28 Kanthal on a 1/16 ID or 8 wraps of 28 Nichrome. The ID may be the main factor. Second would be to choose a wire gauge where you can accomplish the resistance you want without having to go over the ideal of 8 wraps. One would have to be pretty into HEAT to fill that little chamber completely with wick and coil. This atty is coming along at a time when a lot of folk were finding 22mm atties to be the only feasible/available option for dual coil builds. Think outside your box, think room for airflow and think small. :)

Yes, it would be nice if someone made a video.

here's some ideas for dual coil (the Mundy's is a 2-strand version VS 3) . . . .
