I'm thinking hard about a REO

Hi folks,

I'm thinking hard about, and leaning toward, ordering a REO.

Since you aren't shy about your opinions, here are my questions.

First, leaking. I toss my current set up in my jacket pocket, and it always ends up on its side. Though I've been told if I squonk reasonably and so on, it should be fine. On the other hand, it's been suggested that upright is best. On its side maybe not. What do you think?

Second, it's been suggested that I get the LP, to broaden my future options. Are there any disadvantages, besides cost, to getting the LP? Are there any advantages to getting the regular Grand?

Third, assuming I get the LP, someone suggested I request an unmilled version of the RM2 in a PM to REO mods. But, is this the same as the LP RM2, or do I need to make some special arrangements?

Fourth, (and I have sent a message to REOmods through their website on this) is there normally a long wait for the style one wants? My preferred finishes aren't available today. On the other hand, if I have to wait months to get it, I can settle for what's currently available.

Thanks for your advice.

Some people get some leaks...but I haven't on four different ones. A drop or two, but nothing really...and those are my fault.

The LP would for sure go well with an unmilled RM2 for looks, but would work with either. That's about all I know. As far as the wait, Rob usually makes magic happen. I've seen it around here a lot.

Yes the unmilled rm2 has been added to the sight. You don't have to pm Rob anymore to get the milled Reo or unmilled rm2. Leakage isn't a problem. Maybe a drop or 2 every now and again from squonking and not vaping what's in the rm2. As far as disadvantages to a milled version other than cost. Not that I have found yet. I have 1milled 1unmilled.

The comment on PM to Rob was before he had posted the LP RM2 on the site.

I wanted to order a Black Wrinkle LP Reo but the site was out of stock, Rob said it would take a few days to create, so PM him and get and estimate for the color choices you want.

I've been vaping for 3 years and have had tanks leak, and bottles crack in my pocket. I consider the Reo with RM2 almost leak proof dripping. The bottle is tucked away and protected, no more missed drips running down the outside of the atty or my hand.

I've had Reos for 4 months now and have not had a leak in my pocket. I just take few hits to use any juice before it goes in my pocket. Only time I've had a leak is when I absentmindedly squonk to much with a full bottle while watching TV, then it leaks out the air hole.

Edit: Only disadvantage to the LP vs. standard Grand would if using standard cartos or attys instead of RBAs, you would not have the larger well for any juice that leaks out. The standard Grand was designed when only cartos or atty were used and there are still those that prefer to use them.

LP gives you more options for atties. I carry my Reo to work and it stays with me all day on a phone case on my belt. it never leaks, even when i drive to and from work and it's on its side. Unless you overfill the atty like a madman you'll have no problems.

LP ones are for sale on the reosmods.com site, but if you want a standard one, then there are more of those available. There is nothing to stop you milling the catchcup down yourself to make it LP - that's what i did. Reo - meet mr grinding disk!!

There are no advantages i can see of a regular grand over a LP. I have both.

Instead of using the site, PM Rob on here to set your order for the color of your choice. If you know all the extras you want include them in your PM and he will send you an invoice. Pay the invoice and it will be taken care of quickly. While you're waiting on your vape mail you should start thinking about the color options for your next Reo. Unless you have really broad pockets leakage shouldn't be a problem after your last squonk hit it 2 or 3 times and it will be dry enough. Or make sure the side with the RM2 is up in your pocket. LP is a good idea if you want to use other RBA's although the RM2 is a very good one and should be ideal for use on the Reo. If you're getting the milled Reo you want the unmilled or LP RM2 or you will hate the looks of it. Good luck and post pix when you get it.

yep as long as you vape your wick good enough to where its not saturated you could put it anywhere and it won't leak.......at least it hasn't for me

Thanks for all the comments. I'm reassured about the leaking. Don't want puddles in the pockets, where I carry my equipment around.

I guess I'm going to ask the standard vs. LP question again, but in a different way. Here goes:
I'm coming from the world of tanks. I keep getting nudged to get into RBAs, and dig the benefits, and I think I will soon. But, I'm not there yet in practice. So, with any gear I order, I expect that on day 1 I'll use cartos/atomizers. But, that may not be for long. But, then again, I've never been perfect at predicting the future. The RM2 may be absolutely perfect for my next phase. I don't know. People have mentioned other attys and the limits imposed by the standard. The drift I got was go with the standard if I have any intention of using cartos/atomizers.
And, I get the feeling that most of you will say get a standard now and the LP later.

PM Rob on ECF with any special requests. I hate to say this about otherwise awesome customer service but I have yet to get a response when messaging the REOsmods site directly other than mysterious free parts. ;)

You won't regret your purchase no matter how you go but you will have many more future options if you go with the Low Profile (LP) catch cup unless you plan to to go with carto's.

REO's are AWESOME! :w00t:

And REOville is a happy place! :)

PS. Most tanks will fit on the LP. Tanks will not readily fit the stock REO.

Yeah, understand. My quandary is I don't know which topping device I'll want to go with. Will cartos work very poorly, or not at all with the LP? It comes down to not being sure what direction I want to go. If it were cheap disposable, no sweat.

You REO folks' enthusiasm is great. Just like the Nicoticket people, where I've been spending some time. Great juice BTW. Difference is that they're always grappling it seems with hardware issues. Haven't heard that very much from you guys.

Another advantage I'm thinking that the LP offers is possibly treating your Reo like a regular mech with extra battery storage. Just take the bottle and tube out, and stick an extra battery in there in it's place. You could just shove a wad of paper towel in there to keep it from rattling around.

Haha, I won't do that. It is a great bottom feed.

Newyork13, maybe for a start you can consider a standard Reo Grand with milled RM2. If you are more adventureous with other RBA, then go for the LP Reo.

I'm vaping a standard grand with a milled RM2 right this second, it's excellent, it's attached to my hand permanently.
The LP stuff is new, and if your not into modding your mods, I would pass on the LP as a first REO.
Pull the trigger on your standard stuff and you can be very happy in a short period of time:)
You can read here forever.............good luck with your decision:)

there are still plenty of rebuildable atties that perfectly fit a non milled grand, the only reason to get a milled is if you are determined to use an atty that is larger than 14mm like a dual coiled cyclone with afc or a trident or immortalizer or some specific atty that won't fit into the well of an unmilled grand. that said if you were starting out with rebuildables off the bat then having wider options is nice, but if you are going to start with cartos or standard disposable atties then a non milled would probably be the better choice for you I think
