Hi Solid, I dont mean to .... in here but as chance would have it I was looking on the UK GG distributors website tonight and I saw that they have said that the Proteus release date has been delayed until September.

There was a picture of the Proteus prototype posted here a couple of weeks ago, I had a quick look and couldnt find it but maybe you saw it already?

Hopefully that helps some and maybe when Imeo gets online he will answer your question better than I have.

Hmm, not so good!
IIRC, Imeo was planning to have a prototype ready within a week or two.
I wonder if its the electronics being delayed again....

Thank you solid that you opened this thread. Its an oportunity for me to say some things about the delay of Proteus.

I never make just a product. I make something that will be totally different than any other. That requires too much thought. I first make a prototype, then I make another, etc. GG has to be perfect, unique and to impress its user. So I will tell you about the last delay:

Imagine what size of printed circuit all other mods use. They are fat and they have room to work when Proteus leaves me 14mm of inside diameter to work. Proteus is also a VV device that goes up to 7,4 volts so it has to have stronger electronics on it, so bigger in the most situations. So if all other mods with less capabilities use an printed circuit like 20mm fat and 30mm of length (20x30), I try to buy the best and smallest electronics (this requires a lot of search and a lot of work to put them together in very small distances), to make an printed circuit at 14x11!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No reason to tell you more, I think you see the difficulty of this. No other printed circuit in the world is like this. Its a contest that I have to win!:)

Never mind the "delay".....this is going to be one amazing device I'm convinced. Never mind waiting on a device worth waiting on......:toast:

Thanks you for the quick reply Imeo. The Proteus will be an work of art and an engineering masterpiece. I don't mind the wait. Please take your time Imeo since it will be the 1st VV GG mod ever. That's quite an astonishing feat.

Also I really like how you Imeo are also replying and browsing this forum. It's great service!

Thank you for the understanding guys. I will make a comparison with all the other devices so you will have a picture of what I had to make and to what I am trying to make:

1. VV up to 7,4 volts (means at least 3-4mm more in length than all the other devices) - (display is not an issue for length)

2. printed cirquit has 2 fuses inside to protect it, something that doesnt exist on most if not all other devices, so 1 more mm are required

The result had to be a cirquit at 35mm in length. If we add the fact that the inside diameter of Proteus is 14mm and not 20mm like fat devices then the length had to be at least 6more mm. So the total length of the cirquit had to be at about 40mm. I am trying to make it at 11mm!!!! You now see the difficulty of this. My electronic guy told me that this kind of cirquit is the smallest cirquit in the world for sure

Printed cirquit of other devices is around 50 square centimeters. I try to make a VV device at 3,5 times smaller

i'll be ready to buy one as soon as it's released
i need a competitor for the provari!
I hate the waiting game, but I'll have the Penelope to keep me entertained until then

btw how much$ was the Proteus at preorder?

There was no set price when you pre-ordered the P & P on the serial number request list. Just an indication since the cost might go up or down depending on the price Imeo's suppliers charged him.

The original price for the P & P as a set was between 150 to 170 euro range. The finished Penelope had a 90 euro price tag when it was released but you get pre-made wire and wick with it. Let's just say; what ever you pay you do get QUALITY for your money and it is still reasonable priced.
