I don't want to ruffle any feathers myself but to fully appreciate the GG series is to understand that Imeo is not just cranking out products - He is putting himself into each piece. It has been said many times over but I'll repeat it again. Imeo could have stopped creating with the Grant or the first GGTS and licensed it and made a fortune.
But again, that is
not what the GG series is about. I understand that to some a PV is just another piece of hardware. That is no insult but is a fact. The facts are though that the GG series represents more than just hardware to Imeo and to the GG followers. As Para has said (and many others), it is functional art.
Imeo is never satisfied with his work. He works day after day and year after year to bring the best products made with the best materials he can find. In spite of my self-deprecating humor I am an educated man. I am fully aware of business models and they serve mass quantity production well in many cases.
But Imeo is not trying to make the most money nor the most pieces. He is making the best pieces and as I already said, every GG item you hold in your hand has a little bit of Imeo in it as well. Sure, as only one man, that means a limit to the amount of pieces and it makes the line between a business and an artform somewhat fuzzy. I waited for months for my first GGTS and I have
no complaints.
Some things are simply worth the wait. With the GG series, there is no hidden meaning or market strategy as to numbers produced. There is simply Imeo, living his passion to satisfy every vaper he can out there. For most of us and especially for me, it doesn't get any better than that.
In a world of supersonic speeds and instant everything, Imeo refuses to compromise his work. That may mean it isn't for everyone but again, not all appreciate art. Art is created, not manufactured in the traditional
sense. And whether all like that approach or not, had Imeo chosen another path, there are many innovations that mass produced PV's have that Imeo first brought to market.
There are many pieces I want very badly myself but like anything else worth having in life, if it's worth having, it's worth waiting for. Sorry for the wall of text but "fan boy" or not, this is truly how I feel about Imeo and his art.
