I have done some reading on here and elsewhere and have come to the conclusion that when I ask what kind of e-cig to get, ya'll are gonna tell me a eGo.

Anywho.....I have been smoking for almost 25 years and it is now time to quit. My asthema acts up from time to time from cold air in winter to my alergies from our cats to just out of the blue. My medicine wont be available after the 1st of the year so I have stockpiled what I can and I am currently looking for more.

I need to quit smoking as I am sure that is the main factor for my asthema. I used to smoke camels until I couldnt afford them. I have jumped from off brand to off brand always smoking the cheapest thing I could find without resorting to "floor sample" packs. I currently smoke Ultra Light 100s (almost nothing I know, but this should be to my benefit.) and maybe I get through a pack a day. I have read that I should try flavors as opposed to searching for the true match of a real cigarette. So what flavors are "good"?

I love the way coffee smells but I just cant drink it. I am not a chocohalic, nor do I search out specific flavors for anything really. It never mattered what my cigs tasted like, it only mattered how much they cost.

So what kind of e-cig should I get, and what flavors do you recomend, and where can I get the best bang for my buck?

Oh yea, the wife wants one as well as she is going to quit with me. We smoke the same kind but she smokes far less than I do.

So you know what PV your going to get;)

I'd recommend Desert Ship 24mg, 50ml for a liquid. Taste is subjective, but to me it tastes really similar to a camel.

As far as liquid goes madvapes is the cheapest even when other have 35% OFF there still higher priced than them.

As far as hardware goes I use madvapes.com Hoosierecigsupply.com and Vaporgod.com

Others will no doubt tell you to go to libertyflights as well

they say to get a tobacco flavor to start. I used my tobacco flavor for 24 hours and went back and got pineapple. I vaped 60ml of pineapple and then found Rapple (raspberry apple my all day vape currently) I recntley got a strawberry cheesecake flavor and a shortbread cookie flavor and they are great in the morning for me.

All in all no one can tell you what flavor is going to do it other than you. Velvet Vapors has make your own sampler packs and generally has a monthly coupon code if you like them on Facebook.

Good luck to you and your wife.

I'm not a fan of tobacco flavors at all but heard that Backwoods Brew has awesome tobacco flavors. My personal fav. so far has been Gorilla Juice by Alien Visions. It's listed under tobacco and is very popular along w/ Boba's Bounty. They do not taste like tobacco to me but are very satisfying.

IMHO try some flavors that you don't think you'll like when you order. You may be surprised how good it tastes to smoke something fruity or dessert like from time to time. Try to buy smaller sample sizes so that you can check everything out b4 going full tilt.

Good Luck and Welcome to ECF!!

Not enough info. What strength cigarettes do you each smoke, how many per day, can you charge batteries at work, are you opposed to fat models or have any requirements on how it would look regardless of battery life.

Off the top of my head

Slim model manual - KR808D-1 manual, plenty of prefilled and blank cartos including Vapor4Life, SmokelessImage, Bloogplanet, Halocigs G6. Use a standard resistance DSE901 atomizer and drip tip (LiteCigUSA.net) to test juices. Keep the cartomizers damp so they don't singe and get 4-7 days use out of each

a.SmokelessImage (rubberized, better sealed manuals, a bit more charge, only allows 5 second drags which is a bit short when you press the button up to 2 seconds early to have nice vapor waiting)
b.Vapor4Life (not rubberized, manuals still have a hole but it seems somewhat sealed inside, customized to allow up to 10-13 seconds drags so great for a heavy smoker or hard dragger)

Or fat model and use drip tip to test juices, blank cartomizers for vaping
Liberty-Flights.com, press the 20% off upper left, look at Riva 510 which is what I prefer to Ego because it's 3.7v (Ego is 3.4v). I recommend whatever SE kit has the 3-click enable/disable to aid in pocketing. Add drip tip, Boge cartomizers, eliquid (some there, rest at a real juice shop)

I recommend 80PG/20Vg juices for standard stuffing cartomizers like KR808D-1 and Boge 510

I have to agree with Dan, Starter kit wise Liberty Flights is the best bang for your buck I have yet to find anywhere on the market. Just be sure to use the 20% off coupon, upper left corner. Happens to be a link to an eGo but you can easily find the Riva on the side under "starter kits" section. "Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Joye eGo

Juice wise, I've heard a real true tobacco is a difficult thing to replicate. However, many many people find themselves much more in love with non-tobacco flavors. It couldn't hurt to give other flavors a go while hunting for your tobacco. You might surprise yourself. Take a look on the main forum page. Scroll down, there are many trusted vendors listed and by location.

Re tobacco flavors - some new vapers NEED tobacco flavors to avoid cigarette cravings and get a cigarette craving from food flavors as if they had just eaten. I was like that the first 2 months. I could mix food flavors into my tobacco cartos in increasing amounts but not vape food flavors alone and I have found some others like me. Some new vapers are the opposite and feed they avoid cravings best by not vaping tobacco flavors. And some can vape any flavor immediately and be satisfied.

If nothing else I recommend ordering at least one tobacco flavor juice, even if it's Chinese Dekang PG, in case you or your wife needs it.

The eGos are nice but they are only 3.4V. I think you should go with a 3.7V like the Riva, kGo, or E-Power. They will allow you to use a wide array of attys/cartos. I have an E-Power and love it. Its simple to use and everything is replaceable so it keeps costs down. Plus it uses non-proprietary batteries. E-Power batteries cost $4 compared to eGo/Riva batteries that are $14-20. You get 2 with the kit and they are 1050mah. I generally get about a day to a day and a half out of one batt.
Check out Crystal Clear Vaping. They have a great deal for the E-Power if you decide you like it.
You get over $25 of free stuff with the kit.
Free 5-pack of Ressurector cartos, Free 30ml juice of your choice, and Free shipping.
Plus put in "ecf5off" and youll get 5% off the order.

Its a great package that could give you what you need to start.
If you dont get the E-Power, I would go with the Riva or kGo. They are all great PVs. And if you do get any of those, try the Ressurector cartomizers. They are incredible. Huge amounts of vapor and great flavor. They are 1.7ohm and hold 2ml of juice so they generally last all day.

Goodluck!!

I do love my E-Power but I don't hear anyone else mentioning a problem that I'm having: the darn thing turns on when I screw it together and I can't get it to shut off till I unscrew it. It is *really* starting to get on my nerves.

I replaced the switch and that didn't solve the problem.

The only thing left is the spring. Should I find a stronger one - or weaker? Any suggestions?

To the OP: Sorry to hijack your thread! I'll also recommend the Riva or E-Power because they're 3.7v. The Vapor King from Vapor4Life in XL manual is also 3.7v and it's fabulous - but it's only 380mah or thereabouts, so you can't get through a day with just one battery. If that doesn't bother you, you'll probably love them.

I just started vaping yesterday. I love my Kgo. The battery charge supposedly lasts a day and a half. I got it from Hoosierecigsupply.com. Brent, the owner was very patient and happy to answer questions.

If you like coffee, I just got a really tasty coffee flavored juice called Vanilla Mocha Frappe from V4L.com.

Oh, and another thing. Get different strengths of the juice. I bought only 18 mg. originally, and that seems to be a little strong for me.

And get some cartomizers so you can fill your own with juice. The ones I got from Hoosier were okay, but the next ones I get are going to be Boge, and The Resurrector, after talking to people here.

Good luck
Sandy

Well, depending on the day, I usually smoke around 15 in a day. Good days makes for less, around 10, and bad days makes for around 22 or so. But the average is more around 15 a day. But they are ultra light 100s and when people 'bum' a smoke from me they usually give it back after 2 drags because they "cant get anything out of it."

I was thinking of finding some kind of sampler pack of the juice that has a good mix of tobacco and foods (sweet or others) and experimenting on something. I dont think i will be a tinkerer with the juices, but one never knows.

My wife smokes between 5 to 10 of the ultra lights in a day. I have no idea how she can have one in the morning, and then not have another one until 6 pm. She has quit before, and it was the passing of her mom that made her start back up. I think the fruity flavors will be her choice, espically the cheesecake like ones. I will have to ask her what she thinks.

So no one is really suggesting the eGo and the Riva is the one that is now suggested? OK. I see there are plenty of places to go to get the best deals, and I dont mind a few clicks to see who is the cheapest. But what about customer service? What if I get a 30 ML bottle of juice that I dont like at all. How do I recoup my expenditure?

Oh yea, I am unemployed and have been for almost 2 years and I really dont see myself working again. I have made the transition to Mr. Mom reluctantly, but it is what I can do for the family. So recharging wont be an issue.

Check out BlueMist Vapor. They have sample packs where you can pick your own. They have over 250+ juices and great prices. $5 for 10ml, $10 for 30ml. Dont buy big bottles until you know you like a juice. Then you wont waste a ton of money if you dont like a juice. They also offer extra flavor shots for .50cents more.

If you like the Riva, Id get it from LibertyFlights. Remember to hit the 20%off in the top left corner. Great CS

If you like the E-Power, Id get it from CCV like I mentioned above. Their customer service is top-notch.
Regardless If you dont get the E-Power, Id get your cartos from CCV. They have free shipping and have a guarantee on all cartos, which is awesome. They sell the Ressurectors which I highly recommend you try. They are awesome.
Ive never gotten a DOA from them and have ordered at least 15 5-packs from them.
On Monday I received a 15-pack of Ressurectors that I ordered and I 2 out of a pack of 5 has some wicking issues. Not sure what was wrong but the carto was filled but kept acting like it was dry. It was weird and I never had that happen before with a Ressurector. It obviously wasnt his fault and was just a bad carto but I called Andrew and let him know and he sent me another 5 pack for free yesterday.
Hes an awesome guy that is really helpful.

Also when I first started, I got a pack of the clear Ressurectors, 2 of the 5 came loose where it screws in. I called him and let him know and I got an email the next day that he shipped another 5-pack for free. He doesnt even ask for you to return the unused ones. He wants to keep his customers happy. (I dont recommend getting the clear Ressurectors, the black or SS are much better. The plastic for the clear ones can crack or become loose on the threading part and leak. The black and SS ones are metal and can take a beating no problem.)

Thanks for all the great information guys and gals. Once I have some sit down time with my wife today/tonight I will find out what she would like and probably place our order today. Once I get it all in, I will update the thread with how it goes and probably ask for some other feedback.

I have to say that out of all the forums I post on, this is the only one that all kinds of feedback was posted within 24 hours. That shows what kind of members are here and what kind of sense of community exists here. Well done forum admin and members.
